I'm wondering if SRO gets new players.

Heres a scenario for the new player community.

So you here about the game SRO and wish to try it out. After the download and patch you find this strange feature at the logon. Your in some kind of queue...

(This stage Estimate 50% of people think **** this, and delete the game)

After 30 mins...

(Estimate half of those think WTF is this, and delete the game.

The DETERMINED 25% continue to wait. Some experience 1-2+ hour wait

(Estimate 10% get in WOOOOO. The others are super mad and want to kill someone. Delete the game)

Estimate 50% of these people get DC at some point after there long wait.

(Screw this crap, and delete)

Bottom line is. I think we all agree thres no way in hell that any more than about 2% of all people trying this game for the first time end up playing it.

On top of that the 2% that do are going to have to consider Premium, why on earth would they get addicted to this game when they have had like 5 hour game time in the first week with totalled 20 hour waiting time to log in...

My point is, how can this game continue when the community are leaving the game at a faster and faster rate.

Supply and demand for this game is way out of wack and its getting worse.

IMO the End of SRO is in sight.

People say GM's ways are smart and making them alot of money but theres a reason why other companies do not promote and run there game the way JM do...

JM will fail in the long run and i'm pretty sure the long run is close to the end.

Sucks. The game was awsome back in 2006-2007

:(

The game gets very few new players and almost (if any) none of them stay.
People are quitting all the time. But they still have a couple of players that are either addicted or still think its a fun game. Many of the remaining players still buy lots of silk.

Yep and that makes you wonder. How long from now untill 90& of the players are gold bots making gold with no players to sell to.

I think this is a good thing. It may just be the only way to get JM to fix this game once and for all.

They will be forced to do so :)

I dont think they will fix it, they just come up with another crappy game where they can get ppl addicted and do the same thing all over again.

Thats true... brings me back to my OP.

SRO is near the end.

IMO anyway.

Such a shame. I remember back in the day, with the jobbing. You could hit the silkroad and no you were in for an awsome time.

the only hope...even if its never gonna happen...is if they do open a silkroad 2...or literally restart everything from lvl 1...and do lots of advertisements for it...and fix their damn botting/dc problems..

We can say some are stop playing but they didn't stop reading forums
and so when they read something good in sro like no spambot, no goldbot and etc... increase exp rate, drop rate then probably those who said quit sro will surely play again and after a few weeks a goldbot, spambot back server full again and booooom.... :banghead:

i think , the end of isro is very far as you think it will end up easily
since old player who quit sro has already recruited new player before they quit like someone who told isro is a very nice game to there friend and at the time they quit, they friend who started to be addicted...

Only those people who don't have personal computer or laptop are hard to recruit but those people whose habit is playing Online or offline games in PC is not hard for me to recruit. I just played in the shop or internet cafe and when someone look at me playing isro are starting to get curious and ask what is that game?.

i have a lot of friend who play isro when they saw me playing with cool characters like blader, .. i just showing them the coolest skills.

The only future this game has now is when someone finally uses the handle and does a courtesy flush on this big steaming pile of crap JM has created and left in the bowl for far too long.

I agree with everybody that has posted before (except Scarlett of course). Silkroad is a dying game, and it's all Joymax's own fault.

Silkroad was awesome back in 2006 even though I was like level 21 for like forever everyone was so freakin nice and I actually had fun grinding because I did it with real ppl. But then in like early 2008 when I got to 80 I was so Farking tired of SRO. Everyone was botting everyone was spamming everyone was doing some of everything and I just got tired and quit. I cringe at the thought of going back to SRO.

After the inspection, where JM added the second phase of alibaba event, there were some noobs in Const who appeared to be new players. They asked other players questions. But i think they gave up and don't play anymore.

No matter what other people say, I am quite sure that silkroad online will not close. I mean... lets say that everybody stops playing. Then there will only be goldbots left. They wont sell anything (there are no more players) and therefore they will stop too. Then the servers will become easy and slowly people will begin playing again. Rebirth FTW lol :D

I mean... that's what will happen IF everybody stops playing. But that wont happen anyway lol :)

During the time people start to slowly quit and goldbots leave too, Joymax won't be able to handle the costs of running the server/employees and will turn bankrupt = Shutdown. :)

They already have a humongous amount of money. I don't remember how much (there were an article about it in a thread like a month or two ago) so they will probably be able to run it for a couple of months before they have to close it :)
