Been away from this forum/SRO for a while now,

Just wondering how the game is doing? (I quit just when they introduced Alexandria). Anything cool happen to SRO? I hear Joymax doesn't run ISRO anymore?

Ahhhh the nostalgia of SRF.

nothing much has changed, just the same, bots, more bots, attempt for joymax to stop bots, some pretty useful new stuff is out, i suggest you join Azteca.

Welcome back!

And sure, a lot of stuff has changed. The introduction of the anti-bot statues of justice, which will kill anything that goes near it (bots). Also, WeMade is now basically in charge, as they are now the largest shareholders. Premium silk have been introduced. With that you can purchase silk items, which you will then be able to trade/sell to other players in-game.

There are (obviously) a ton of more updates, but these should pretty much cover the most important aspects. A good idea would also be to check out the newest "legend" update at the Silkroad website. Just to be a bit more up to date. Good luck with whatever adventure you're about to start :sohappy:

You're missing out on the IP limitations being brought in, lowering the amount of bots considerably, lulz. And... the incoming changes to SRO like the removal of Silk Gifting :p

Let's see :

Alexandria : new town that you are only available to enter while you are level +95 .

Battle arena : a new system that allows you to buy 9d - 10d soX 11d nova (better than normal soX) from the battle arena Npc at Hotan .

Forgotten world : A new place that rewards you with soX items for just collecting 8 different tailsmans for each degree .

Job system : the job system has been changed with a new one that allows you to wear crafting job items and a new crafting system .

Consigment : no stall network anymore , you don't have to be online to keep your items at consigment , items that you put at consigment will stay there for 2-3 days then you will have to remove them .

This guy (the thread starter) left before the Alexandria update. He is used to wait maybe 3-5 hours just to get into the game. Right now you can one-hit half of the servers, and on the older ones you'll have to wait like 10 minutes. If that is not an improvement, then tell me what it is, please!

Legend I was the only true improvement to the game (in terms of anti-bot), over 5 months of clean servers. No stallbots, nearly no goldbots & even playerbots had dropped down in numbers.

Statues of Justice? bots just walk around them now. Their only usefull in the job-cave as there isn't much space to avoid them.
Active GM's? They only do events. There are even screenshots where GMs say that they bot on their regular chars!
Cap 90? Had a big client update+some security, so it was fine for a month. That's when they also
started banning playerbots. But those players got unbanned 2 weeks later & each one had received a compensation for being banned!
Weekly botbans? (where are those times?) And let's not forget their copy-pasta technique for those lists (they banned "amount" of players and most of em would reappear in the list a few weeks later)

As for the IP-Limitations:
Europe: 2 chars per IP
Egpyt/Turkey: 8 chars per IP
China: unlimited

So the ones that cheat/scam the most are "only" limited to 8 chars per IP...
(Main reason is that they have internetcafes...; like other countries don't have those...)
A lot of European players (mostly germans) either quit or sold their chars. Those chars get bought by Egy or Turks...
The only good thing about this is that they are all selling their gear, so cheap novas for me.
And China is the host for all the goldbotfirms, but no IP limit for them!?

ATM it's getting very hard to find an english speaking player on my server.
(And by english, I really mean english; not "fack mather & your sisters")


Love the game, hate the management..
And I'm still waiting for the Cleric-nerf (100%->50% HS & bless dissappearing when removing CR)
and imbue-increase for the chinese!

I'll look for them, my prev hdd crashed so i'll have to check my backup drives.
They were first posted on the official sro forum, it caused quite a stir :P
Then the screenshots spread like wildfire, but that's 6-12 months ago iirc

edit2: going through 10gb of sro screenshots & movies >.>
I did find the official sro movies (official sro movie, pet, attack skill movies), if anyone wants u can upload it

The IP limitations DID make a change. Maybe not to your server, or from what you can see, but it definitely did for mine and surely for a few others. It's forced botters to get proxy IPs now, which aren't even stable. Over in Maya we've lost the usual server traffic - *touch wood* - and the amount of bots I used to see outside of town and inside of town crowding around consignment (like nerds gathering around a naughty picture), has also gone down considerably. What they need to work on next, by the looks of it, is to bring back the IP limit to Turkey as well, if they haven't done so already, and then sort out those chat spammers in all the towns.

You may not know this but you are not able to say the same sentence +3 times in a row (without being unable to chat for 10 seconds) , But chat spammers just add random degits at the end of there post or write another sentences :( .

Ahh, sounds like good old SRO.

No way! WeMade is doing way better than Joymax was doing before, lol! I guess some people have just simply forgotten how horrible it was back in 2009, lol. The game has definitely improved a lot! But yeah, it would be easier for you to see for yourself :)

Gotta agree that the game is improved a lot :)
Way less login time.

BUT the last update made things go extreme indeed.
I am playing on zeus.. one of the most crowded servers sadly.
There used to be 1 big german union and a 50% German / USA union.

Since the ip limit these unions are down to nothing. And the turkish / Egyptians are ruling the game. So thats a big disadvantage.
They login 30 chars (They are limited to 30 not 8.)
And then use their pts to farm many gold and buy up the German / USA chars.
Result is that currently Zeus population looks as this:

40% Goldbot Karakoram
35% Turks / Egypts goldbots
15% Turk / Egypt players
10% From other countries.

While is used to be:
40% GoldBot karakoram
15% Turks / Egypt goldbots
10% Turks / Egypt players
35% Other countries


Personally I feel that Isro has been made in TESro or ETSro... (ET Stands for Egypt/Turkey not the alien, even though they lookalike? just kiddin.)

Zeus is actually the most crowded server currently , it was 3502/3500 when other servers were about 2900/3500 and a few were 1600/3500 .

it is normally more than average servers with 200-300 at least (no idea why , maybe they just like easy names XD) .

A birdy whispered that the IP limit is now set to 5.
Can anyone confirm?
I only have 4 pc's and I was able to log in 4 chars.

Still haven't found the picture where gm confesses he uses bot on his main char.
I did find a video of my guild, when cap 80 was released (pandora fest, strong mobs, not the reduced damage sissies we have now)
