I was talking to my friends and one of them said that there are not many strong hybrids at this cap. Speaking only on terms of Chinese characters, I realized that I didn't really think about it before, but most glaivers, bowers, and bladers are strongest as a pure str. The remainder are nukers. I do remember many hybrids at 80 and 90 cap, but i've only recently gone back to SRO to mess around. Are there still hybrids around that can pwn? Has there been a shift back towards pure or is that just some random incorrect fact. He told me that a majority of people realized that hybrid is a waste and can deal and tank more with snow as a pure.

I think the reasoning behind this is that with higher level of snowshield, it becomes bad to be hybrid as you won't be able to use it as well, but in my opinion, wouldn't being hybrid allow you to deal more dmg with the bicheon shield buff that boosts phy attacks and lowers def? I forget where I read, but won't the later levels of snow shield use up too much mp making counter-attacking pointless?

And last question, what's a common hybrid on your server? On Alps it was add 10 levels of str back in 80 cap to make it the 1:7 hybrid, but I dunno about this cap. Are people still trying to be 1:7 or are they doing 1:9 now?

Hybrids still surely can own, a hyb s/s or hyb spear is great, pretty ok tanking ability and insane damage :)
Hyb spears have like 20k hp at level 90 now =] coz of Devil spirit aswell.
imo hyb is way better in pvp then pures (im a warrior myself, and pures are still pretty easy to kill by overhealing > fast crit)
A friend of mine is a hyb s/s, he had 23 str added at level 90 :)
Some1 else i know is just 1:7 int spear- pretty strong aswell.
And yet an other guy, is 1:2 hybrid int spear- he owns aswell :)
I personaly like s/s int best, and plan on making one myself aswell.

Simply because you have the extra defence of a shield on top of being hybrid, and having castle shield makes you hard to kill, you'll also have bleed-division-impotent and with the later chain fear - dull - stun, which increases your damage more then enough to kill anything.
Knockdown is also nice to have, a true lifesaver :) and besides that, when you give your enemy division and bleed for example, you can always use a spear for nuking, majorr damage ftw >.<
(And, you can keep any snowshield up if you're a s/s, you'll have more defence and take less damage - thus drain less MP... and you can always use vigors aswell if you have to :))

I find that more people are doing hybrid int chars and very few people are making hybrid str chars. I can kinda see why though, str chars have some massive hp and some nice crits. Adding some int into that would just lessen both of those while providing a little bit better overall damage. Not really noticeable or worth it IMO. And they can't really even use a higher level of snow shield with a 1:7 str build or something like that. They'd have mp problems.

While hybrid ints can use pretty much any snow shield book they want while still gaining more hp to tank once it's off.

As I am witting this I had an epiphany, perhaps it all comes down to the snow shield. Pure str's do fine with the basic 100/100/80/20 build. They have incredible hp and still can use the snow shield, so why go hybrid? Who wants to be a glavier with 1/3'd of the hp as a regular glavier? The whole point behind a str char is being able to tank, going hybrid hinders this. While int chars can go wither way, they can do massive damage or go hybrid and tank a lil bit more then normal.

About the snow shield. You don't have to use the last book if running out of mp is a problem for you. Just use the other books.

Most hybrids are like 1:5-1:9 int hybrids. Like I said there's like no str hybrids.

*hopes this makes sense*

Hmm I just got an idea. Could someone show me where I could find or tell me how much Phy Def you get per Str stat point added? I Figured with a decent str addition to an int hybrid, you could fully use that shield move where you lose def for offense better. When you nuke you leave the buff off, when you get close or put bleed/divi on them, than you pull out the buff and start stabbing. Extra Str would give you extra crit dmg on those downstabs. When the buff runs out, just start nuking again. What do you all think?
