To test out your theory I logged onto my ( ex-account now stalling for a friend to make him some cash ) and cpu usage is normal.

cpu usage when in town of sro_client.exe is 50 in town, and way less when training. Around 10~20%

sro doesnt redraw the screen when the window isnt focused. That would account for the extremely low CPU usage some people have been seeing.

The fact that some people have quad cores or dual core doesnt matter. Unless SRO is multithreaded (i dont think it is). You might see a lower total cpu time usage, but one core should always be busy with redrawing the screen when you play.

get a memory cleaner/refresh program then you wont be having such huge usages.
never noticed any big changes just weird lag pikes from time to time but already used to it

It's called memory leak. Joymax needs to learn how to program in C++

what's C++? I have a dual core and 2 gb of ram and 50% cpu usage :? Very weird cause last pc was single core with 512mb ram and it ran like 40% and never lagged as bad as this is :banghead:

Its a program language. And sro has been programmed in that language.

sorry for bumping an old thread, but does anyone know of any good memory cleaner programs or anything for XP Pro? Looks like the memory leak is still in the SRO client.

If Joymax wrote this software properly, we wouldn't have these memory leak problems. Granted, it's somewhat easy to overlook these problems when developing software, but the problem has been around for a while. I haven't even seen Joymax address the issue, let alone fix it.
