i have a question for glaivers.

are chains better than your ss or gs's for monsters?

like if you have one full zerk with a monster that doesnt die will you accumulate more damage with chains or with ss and gs assuming no crits.

It depends on the crits. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same. It's unlikely to crit more then 2 hits of a chain -> this increases the damage a bit, but critting a soul spear / ghost spear doubles the damage.

lol as you were typing this i edited my post to say assuming no crits.

and howcome on my spear char when i crit a chain it was basically like 3/5 hits would crit, as if i couldnt just land 1 crit in a chain series, it had to be a LOT of the chain.

well im lvl 67 maxed book 3 chain and sss is lvl 3 and gsm lvl 1
i mostly use sss and gsm against normal mobs since its quicker but if i do use the chain i usually do dmg between sss and gsm, but sss + gsm + chain against giant is the best as once im done using the 3 skills my imbue is also finished (using book 3 imbue)
well for me in your scenario sss will do most dmg are about the same as the chain, but im not farmed so i'll have to do another test once im farmed which is most probably once im capped

If your talking about with uniques, you should always try do attacks that wont do AOE damage, just because your more likely to lure more mobs onto you, and end up dying.
