they're all the exact same, as far as the percentage goes I have no idea. I have 11 masks now, and only 1 white that I got from trading with someone. basically, I have got 0 whites from jewel boxes.

Oi, I havnt even seen a white one yet. Black for ze win.

Back on topic... to get masks:
1. Kill monsters for Jewel Boxes.
2. Make sure you collect a lot - most of them will be scrolls.
3. Find "Event So-Ok" somewhere in the middle of town (by the fountain in hotan and jangan, not sure about the others).
4. Talk to her and exchange your boxes for prizes.
5. Hope to get a mask. ^^
