make your character view distance to highest(can it be pk2'd?) then go hunt/thief/trade and you have a big advantage, u can see where the enemy is before you even leave the gate

Doesn't the character draw distance have a limit? I thought you can only see farther places - no mobs, no players.

It dosent matter how much you put the character draw distance 2. After a certain amount of zooming, you wont be able to see anything. And you can only see a radius of around 100m around you. So if your in jangan, you wont be able to see anything in DW or Hotan.

No, that's because they're programmed as different places. Even if, theoretically, you could see an endless view - you wouldn't be able to see DW from Jangan. Why? They're different places stored in different files. Only one city is loaded (hence the load time on travel between parts) at a time.

It doesnt give any advantage. The distance of intercepting objects (character, mob) is set by the server (i think)

True, but other than the regular view you will be able to see a big radius around you which is advantageous for jobbing / FW etc. You don't have to rotate your view to look behind your back.

You can do alot with PK2 from which the very big majority is ok. PK2 as a word is too big to say 'ban for pk2'

i was trying to prove a point that if hes saying zoom hack deserves a ban then so does pk2

Actually, EastWind is correct. That's one of the reasons we have the ferries - they can separate the places so the game doesn't have to load all of them at once.

There is many 3rd party programs that doesnt give an advantage or alter the game in anyway that you get banned for..
for example botmon it records how long you played and how much sp/xp you gained in that period but yet ppl get banned for using it..

Yeah it sucks that some programs that don't harm anyone are bannable, but as long as it involves tampering or changing the client then it's bannable. Even some pk2 edits are bannable now :x
