Dam very nice . JM almost made it to look realistic lol. very cool job celsius. but i have to disagree on one point. Taj Mahal is in Agra, India, which is far away from where (K)hotan was/is.

Yup, Silkroad is a realistic game. Donwhang stone cave is like the exact same. There's also the penis mountains you forgot about.
Roc is the giant flightless bird. Cerberus guards the gates of hell.
Those are the only two I know are real and in Silkroad, though I'm sure the others have some sort of basis as well.

Oh thanks this is fantastic! Thanks for the hard work and time effort.
[REQUEST] Can you do another one like this, but about the server names?
Send me a PM when you do, or if you actually have time to finish it, thanks in advance.

Turkey Quote: According to Wikimapia, which has an aerial view of Tarsus, "A town gate from the Roman period is described as Cleopatra's Gate. It was the entrance of Tarsus, a major Roman city of its time. In Roman times, people used to sail under the gate by boats when the city was located at the Mediterranean coast. Today the sea is an approximate 10km away from Cleopatra's Gate due to rivers filling the water."

It even goes further than that, you find other historical sites in the game itself, although they don't fit in the silkroad.
The aquaduct near constantinople, lots of aquaducts like that remain. It ressembles to the one of segovia or the pont du gard in france
Mini Chichen Itza in the tombs in the nort east Jangan aera, it's just like chichen itza with the colonnade next to it
The buddha statues all over the don area, reminding the statues destroyed a couple of years ago in Afghanistan
The colosseum in Rome (here in consantinople)
And lots more ^^

That's all pretty cool, even the detail of the wiki entries. I just always though a lot of this stuff was made up, the pics and the names and history of the areas of SRO. The fact that there was an actual Niya Oasis, just seems to make the game that much more interesting. Guess that's what comes from having a Western History education. Nice work.
