hybrid sucks. i never lost to a hybrid, but pwned them all. and im not speaking of some noobs using shit gears and weapons. also 70:70/80:80 bow doesnt do well against pure characters. as soon as their snow shield went off, they die.

besides i don't see any advantages of being hybrid, while the warrior turn on his iron wall and that other buff giving him a tremendous amount of phys. and magical defense. your only chance to kill them is the period, in which their buff goes off.

Well, you're obviously a better player than the Hybrids then. I put more thought into it and as Da_Realist said; Between Hybrids and Pures it may all equal out if the hybrid is done right.

well from wat u said, a lvl 80 Int using lvl 19 Ghost Spear + lvl 80 Imbue will do the same dmg as a lvl 80 Int using the last book of Ghost Spear + Lvl 80 imbue.

Your post doesn't make sense, I never said that. I said that the pure int will still outdamage the hybrid int with weapon skills, because imbue is mag based, so the higher the mag balance, the higher the damage. I'll post later few screens if I get time, and I need to re-read his posts first.

ok w/e i thought u said pure int using low lvl phy skills + imbue does the same dmg as pure int using high lvl phy skill + imbue :banghead:

Enemy with high mag defense? Enemy with high phy defense? Enemy with moderate defense?
A hybrid str hits harder than pure str against pure str in armor, protector (Ex: warrior) because they have low mag defense.
A hybrid str hits weaker than pure str against pure int in garment, protector (Ex: pure int garment & shield) because their mag defense is extremly high that the bonus mag dmg you added to Int is not enough to overtake the defense.
Same story with pure int who hits a pure str in armor... and a hybrid int... the dmg added to Str is not enough to overtake the physical defense.

Phy and mag dmg are calculated seperately, it's not because you use imbue that you can ignore your physical power. Saying that is like saying a pure str who uses weapon skill lvl 60 + imbue lvl 80 deal the same dmg as a a pure str who uses weapon skill lvl 80 + imbue lvl 80 because they use the same imbue and has the same magical balance...
Again, read the paragraph above, it's not because you have higher mag balance that you always deal more dmg.

Thats the basic point that most of the people ignore. My char is hybrid 1:1 bow and fighting monster I can say that on a general rule that my crits are 40% higher than my regular shots, but when I go to do pvp all depend on my opponent build and gear. Before Joymax linked the strong bow books I decide first wich skills I was going to use looking at build and armor type, because depending on that I prefer more crits (against int on prot or garm), so I use last strong+devil arrow+ 2 antidevil books or if my opponent it was str (any kind of armor) I use 2 bokks strong bow + devil arrow + last antidevil.

If you go hybrid you have to plan your strategy considering your opponents because they have totally diferent defence values.

Going back to toppic, that ratios that stress post before (1,45 for str based weapons, 1,75 for mag based weapons and 1,6 for bow) was the reason of making my char 1:1 bow and I continue being really happy with this build (lvl84 at the moment, going to the cap slow without silk). At this cap with perfect alchemy I will have like 20k hp (same HP than pure str at previuos cap) and with a regular damage that I can kill the monster of my same level on 1 skill + 1 normal arrow (If I had premium plus I could 1-hit monsters of my own level with no crit).
