I think what is said is true. I've played ECSRO and there is plenty more people who are legit, you can be grinding and say "hi" and ACTUALLY get replies. The only people who really bot on ECSRO are Chinese, and they bot on our ISRO servers anyway. I think that an increase in EXP/SP would encourage more to handgrind, though there will still be people who bot. Some people would never change.

Well, I was talking about people who actually handgrind from level 1 to 90 without botting or getting powerleveled. It takes quite a while to cap and be fully farmed that way.

To be honest, I wouldnt be able to do that... I mean, just sitting and watching your character...
I would PvP everytime I get new skill :P

Handgrinding is fun, if you got great party... I was with Integra guys yesterday (Amelie  ), I as lv.70 Cleric on 85 & 87 mobs ... grinded like 2-3 hours, gained over 20%, and I didnt even die! :D

Could do that all day :P

Well I think that when JM designed the game they started from a chinese build taking two skills, a weapon skill and a force skill and based the xp/sp rate on that. Same for euro builds, they were designed for one job, not two.

If you stick to those models it's possible to level up without a lot of farming.

Quests are a problem since most of them give XP but no SP. Perhaps they should review that system and introduce quests for gaining SP not XP, or let the player choose if he wants his reward in SP or XP.

:)

Joymax kinda made the game to force people to bot. A bot can grind 24/7, way more then a human. When you get some kids addicted to the game and they have 5 hour Gold Time, they end up botting because they fell they are wasting their time. Who in the world wants to waste 5 hours a day(which tends to be more then 5 hours to get the gold time gone) sitting there clicking 12345. There is no fun in grinding. Grinding IS the game. They get people addicted enough to bot so they will keep spending. That is what joymax likes.

If joymax was "for the people", The max gold time card would be maby 1 hour or so with 500% exp/sp. This would allow people to pvp, job, and guild war. They would also fix pk2 editing, help get people their accounts and gear back from a hacking. Fix all the minor bugs in the game.

In the end they wont because it's easy money letting people pay for something they do not even use. So the quality of the game does not matter.

That is a great idea. Reversing the time to exp/sp rate gain with the gold tickets/premiums. Something I thought about as well. Joymax wouldn't lose if they allowed their Gold tickets to go for 1 hour but gives %300 exp/sp gain rate (normal gold tickets) or 1 hour for %500 exp/sp gain rate(premiums). grinding for just an hour is totally fine. Remember those days where you lost premium time because you couldn't grind for that long? and those days compounded? a 3 or 5 hour ticket turned into 6 or 10?..That is messed up.

I don't mind hand grinding 1 hour a day. I can put that in (and most ppl can too) no problem. Just imagine... 1 hour hand grinding and 2-3 hours ,if you have that much to spare, socializing (pvp, job wars, trading etc). The horrendous and endless grind time is what drives people to bot. Yes having shared parties is the way to go but you can't control that every time you are online.

That's just someone whining cus they wanna be high lvl >.>.

What if they raised exp like x25, or even x50 maybe, maybe its a bit easier to get 90 now, but the same ppl are gonna whine just the same once it gets harder, 100, 110, 120, they still have the same amnount of time to grind weather it's x1 or x100 exp, they are just impatient and don't wanna wait >_>, ppl bot cus they don't wanna do it themselves, that's it.

SP may be a little off, I think it should be a bit higher the higher lvl you get, or maybe just higher overall, but the exp is ok I think, but it's not suposed to be easy to get high lvl.

Ppl bot cuz the game boring as ****. The one reason i love City of heroes so much is because there was so many "missions" quests w/w u want to call them  . The lvling wasnt easy but it was fun because u was force to party on that game any lvl could play with eachother.

SRO needs to add a storyline prettymuch exp was 10X on ECSRO i still got fckin bored and said f it. Its the actually quest and storyline make it more interesting ppl bot because they too lazy and too boring xD.

As for ppl on Venus ur only saying that because u use Euro they are super easy to lvl Chinese are the "Doorway to Hell" in grinding and with them its 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 over and over and over til ur fingers hurt. With Eur its not like that at all.

If you find it boring, don't play, no ones making anyone play. Most just wanna be higher lvl and get there easily and pvp and stuff.

Ya start the game knowing its an mmorpg, you grind to lvl up, get stronger, why is there even any discussion about that lol, that's the whole point of the game.

The only real problem with Sro is Joymax.

That's the whole system of these free mmorpgs, make it so when you get to a level you have to spend money on the game to level up at a decent rate..if they didn't have that they couldn't make any money..

botters are loosers, botting is for ppl who need to be max lvl ff and stuff to compensate them being nothing in RL. Max lvl must be hard to get to, or else whats the point of playing mmorpg, play CS and all players are same lvl, an non stop PvP :D

problem is sp, they would need to make some 400% skill exp so ppl dont have to play with gap.

and if you think lvl 90 here is hard, try knight online :D

I have multiple opinions on this, but I think i'm going to have to say that they should boost the exp/sp boost a little bit, maybe not 10x, but 5x? And yes, they need to boost the cursed heart drop rate.

Premium+ takes more then 5hrs to end...I don't know if that's the "standard" grind time for any Korean that plays MMO

This is what Joymax is "saying"
if you work/school 8hrs>>>comeback home, eat,>>>sit on your computer for 5+ more hrs grinding, job/trade/pvp for 1hr>>>go to sleep>>>repeat the process for 28 days, Enjoy ur Silkroad Online life. :) but of course no1 is forcing u to grind the 5hrs

Like some1 said,
The Premium+ can be reduce to 1-3hrs max just increase the exp/sp rate so u will get the same result as though u were grinding 5hrs.

Let's keep in mind WoW is the most profitable game ever made, while SRO is a korean import that is not even translated properly let alone having its mechanics tweaked.

People need to be realistic. You get what you pay for; and even then, that's not completely true because the cost of all the cash stop items required to stay competitive drives up the cost to levels comparable to a p2p game.

As usually i argree with ur post. Thats y i dont play i realize that Joymax is the real problem thats y private servers do i alittle better.

I know u guys seen the project with that new pserver that will be as updated at Legend 3 plus. When that comes out and if successful and it sounds very very promising i really like the Channel on the server. ROM had that, but yea most ppl will go to that pserver...

My first character was a chinese blader and it took more time to level it up to 60 without silk than now a wizzie/cleric with silk and tickets.

The game is a Korean game, their games are based on the principle of Asian grinding patience while non Asian players prefer games with more action and a good quest reward, perhaps SRO should not follow the Asian model but instead introduce other rewarding systems like good quests (not killing xxxx mobs or drop xxxx items)?

The introduction at the beginning of Ivy and Goria only as quest uniques was good, but now that Ivy spawns no one is doing those quests anymore.

Wasn't she spawning from the beginning, when the whole Europe part came? Ad still, who wouldn't do the Ivy quest? You get 20 berserk scrolls after all... :? :?

I remember reading somewhere that back in the 80 cap, a guild was getting ready to leave silkroad. They were sitting in vent reminiscing, and as they were talking, they got the idea that euros could get to the 80 cap in two weeks. So they started eight new characters, I forget the classes, but they had a little bit of everything for different party buffs. They played 5 hours a day, no tickets except the tickets you get when you start a new character, and they had two other players in their guild keep running pots/gear out to them. I forget where I read this, but it went really indepth on how they did it.
