Works like a charm. thats exactly what i did when i made my sword +10 i just sat down in front of the jewel guy in hotan, put my stuff in the alchemy window, and pressed fuse then i went down and took a shower while thinking about, how stupid i must be trying a +9 sword to +10 well it succeded i prefer this method because it is frustrating if you see your items fail and fail again...

Then, you try to fail the one that is not the item you're +'ing. After it fails, the item you're trying to + has a higher chance to + it to 7 or 6 or whatever. I graduated as a statistics/math major from my undergrad. That specific situation is called the gambler's paradox. Let's say a gambler sees only blacks being spun on in Roulette (three colors, 49% black, 49% red, 2% green (approximately) of the wheel). If the gambler sees 100 times that it landed on black, he'd gamble that it should land on red the next turn. Seems logical? On par with that, if a mother has 5 kids that are all girls, statistically, should the next child be a boy? For the gambler, the statistic to land on the black space is still 49/100, to land on red is STILL 49/100... For the child, the statistic to be male or female (barring extraneous hormonal circumstances, oh I was a a biology major too, and am in medical school now), is essentially going to be a 50/50. So, that trick...just wasted a +5/+6 item...nothing more. So, simply stated, there are no real tricks for + an item...except for keep cramming elixirs and I guess use astral so you don't fail all the way back to 0, as well as immortal so it doesn't get destroyed. Ooo...pro-tip...use a lucky stone + lucky powders + premium (the super botter's premium I mean...the 5 hour one with 10% lucky addition). Those should help =) edited: spelling of one word ><

Yep everybody had different theories about sro alchemy. Ppl got the server files now no clue why it's not extracted how tings calculated. "+" should be 1 or 0 / fail or success , so no clue how the luck powder/stone/premium comes in to calculation. Maybe RND 1to100 if over 50 then success, if less then 50 then fail ... +1 1to100 , +2 1to200 ....
I would go with the wave theory and that the luck comes in waves. Had 2 item +3, they went +4 in 1 elixirs, try the first again went +5, the other failed nd back to 0 After that even failed +1 a lot of times ... sht load of elixir and got it back to +4.

Alchemy is entirely random. I recently bought a sun 32 glaive, and it went to +7, failed on 8, +5, failed on 6 and got a redline, and +8 which failed on +9 all within about 70 elixirs. The way I figure, its either going to work, or it isnt. Waiting any amount of time is just superstition, and silly. Just make sure you have the most amount of luck possible, IE, make sure you have lucky on the weapon if possible, and premium as well. If they say you get luck 5% increase from a prem, it must be an attribute in the game, so more of it should make it more likely to succeed.
