smt can be considered "wasted of time" as long as to that person, it doesn't give any pleasure or satisfaction. As long as they enjoy what they are doing, the fuck care what ppl think? A life is not just study and work, there is a reason why games and entertainments exist.

sex / gf (or bf) beats sro anytime lmao
ofc if you didn't have any you don't know what your missing out on.

I can only agree with OP, quit this game as quickly as you can. It's simply not worth it. Now I can't really say this game isn't fun. But what have you got once you are FF 100? Hell - let's say you are FF 150 at some point. If you're a legit, it took years. That's a boatload of time you could have spent on different things in real life.

These things will not disappear the way sro will at some point. The server planet earth will not shut down anytime soon. Your sro server however, will.

That's why you need to enjoy it before it shuts down :P
When you get old, you won't be able to play games anymore, you'll miss it, you realize that you got no definition of games :D

Please don't get me wrong, who am i to say exactly what you should and shouldn't be doing. But i can still express my opinion. Some of you should learn to be a little less hostile and maybe consider why someone would make this kind of thread. What do i have to gain from anyone stopping playing Silkroad....yes, nothing.

And if you thought for a moment that i would think you would all sit up and agree with me, you aren't a very intelligent person, but judging by a few replies in this thread. Some of you are kidding yourselves.

I'm just getting you to think about the basis of Silkroad, it's an evil product of a lawless environment which does nothing to endorse the actions of people who play by the rules i.e. hand grinders.

You need to wake up and see that you are being taken for a ride, all for the benefit of Joymax's pockets. Thats the long and short of it. I just tried to come at a different angle. Even if you don't buy silk and Joymax don't profit from you the odds are stacked so far against your favour it's rediculous. You don't stand a chance, that's why i mentioned getting your head looked at.

But i guess there is no reasoning with kids and addicts. You must also remember i've played Silkroad, i played legit for long enough and i botted for the rest of it and to what end? My account got stolen and on that day it made me realise everything i'd fooled myself to ignore about this game.

You deserve that 'end', in my opinion.

I don't really get all the "you don't stand a chance" talk. Chance against what? Did I mistakenly sign up for a revolution instead of a pastime?

No one deserves their account to be stolen, if you can't agree with that then you need to question your ethics.

Also, great contribution to the topic, i must say.

You, as many people who use these boards, clearly do not have a clue. Now go back to your little happy bubble and don't try to contribute on something that is way above your understanding.

And your reply needs translating, all you did was type a whole load of crap and expected to pass that off as a retort.

Oh really? Answer the simple question then: What don't we stand a chance against? Enlighten me.

Edit: I'm going to sleep. After re-reading everything you wrote, all I feel that I need to say is:

Ok. Whatever, Ben.

Why don't each of you hold your own opinions near and dear, then just not share with others? Because its obvious that neither of you give a damn what the other thinks. So why continue to post? When all you two are doing is mindless bickering.

Mindless? This is clearly way above your understanding if you think it's mindless. Ben here is trying to save at least one person from something that. Is. Only. A. Game. WAKE UP!

Well as we can all see your reading comprehension isn't up to speed with the rest of ours. I stated that you two going back and forth was mindless bickering. Never said Ben's reasoning was mindless. I agree with him in the sense that people shouldn't sit in front of the computer all day but people will do what they want. But I think the thread has been carried on long enough. Hope a mod closes it soon.

My reading comprehension is just fine. That was more me making a mockery of the things that have been said here than an actual reply to you because to be quite honest, I find this whole thread to be a massive joke by a bitter Ben suddenly having a Messiah complex (not related in any way to Messiah the poster a.k.a. you) after his account was stolen. Which of course he didn't deserve even if he cheated and if you don't agree with that you need to question your ethics. Your ethics, yo! Despite being a jerk who is one of the reasons why legits apparently "don't stand a chance" (which is why he's trying to save us) he talks about ethics. And despite being the one trying to pull a Jesus or Neo on us, we're all really just emo whiners. I guess what I'm trying to say, in a nutshell, is..fck Ben and anyone like him.

Ok, really going to sleep now.

Wrong. What is the basis of Silkroad? To have fun playing a free game. If anything is evil, it would be Joymax, the company. Do I think they deserve any penny at all? Not really. But as a business they are doing exactly what they should be.

Once a game loses that fun factor, you stop playing. Obviously that happened to you when your account got stolen.

You keep saying that odds are stacked so far against people. What odds? It is a game. For fun. Like I've said so many other times before. You don't have to have some ultimate goal of being the very best, like no one ever was. Just play the game. No one says you HAVE to cap. Or you HAVE to beat the whole server at PvP. That's all the player.

God that's the dumbest thing ever. You're not any cooler by saying that, and honestly, there are times my girlfriend was annoying as hell and I would have gladly spent time doing something else to get my mind off of it.

I don't know how you would begin to think i was bitter in any way, Silkroad is a retched game played largly by simpletons, little kids and socially challenged beings.

My account was stolen ages ago, if i wanted to be playing Silkroad and i really was bitter i would have had another lvl 80 in a couple months, but thats besides the point.

I made a thread on how much a waste of time Silkroad Online is and as per usual, in typical Silkroadforums style, a bunch of little kids jump all over it. Make it into a thread about how botters get what they deserve and about how they imagine they would spend their time if only they could just stop playing the most pointless and conceited game ever concieved.

But if you have that little in your life and Silkroad makes you happy, nothing i can say will change your opinion of that.

This thread is in no way about what i used to have, i don't miss the game at all, if i went back to any game it would be WoW. But why does the thread need to be concerned by my objectives? I made a thread which i stood to gain nothing from except to try and educate what seems to be a growing amount of narrow minded forum members. That said, a fair amount of you actually got the point of the thread and made a discussion about it rather than just targeting the OP for no clear reason at all, other than just wanting to direct some emo.

These forums will never change, many tried, many failed, many left and the cycle will just start over again with new low post count members who recently joined determined to set the trail ablaze with their incredibly 'enlightened' opinions when really they just sound like a total idiot and know absolutley nothing, which accounts for an alarming amount of Silkroad players.

Edit: typos, gotta watch out for the grammar police.

I think it is funny that some of those trying to defend the game are pushing the straw man that anyone here actually said that "no one here should play mmo as they are all a waste of time". Some of the spend time with friends and family comments taken to an illogical extreme would be as close as we get here. Does it matter if OP had his acct stolen? Does it matter in this case if he botted? I think the reason some of you are so vehemently defensive is that this is that it hits close to your insecuruties. For most of you that still play it is not that the game itself is fun anymore. The game being fun is a huge inside joke most of you miss. A large portion of you still playing do it for friends. The remainder of you play simply due to time and money invested. You don't want to let it go. Prove me wrong. Tell me how fun the quests are. Tell me how fun the events are. Tell me how great the nonexistant jobbing community is. Tell me how well ballanced the game is. Tell me how good the customer service is. Tell me come on do it. I need the laugh. The only thing separating all you defenders from him or basically anyone else who has quit is loss.

Most of us who quit did so because a loss of one sort or another brought clarity to us. For myself it was largely a loss of goals. For years I played for the cap. Things were going to be so great at cap. Then I made it and the shithole was revealed for what it was. So many friends were gone and there was nothing to do that was not pointless such as pvping botters. No point in trading no more levels to get nothing to do. There is no end game. At least the game I play now has that. Playing an mmo as a hobbie is fine. Playing sro as a hobbie is still tantamount to eating school paste as a hobbie. So don't get so defensive when someone calls you on it.

This is the only reason why I still bother to play this anymore. If there was no gaming buddies to play with I'd fck off and do something else. This game simply isn't worth it if not for your gaming buddies.

I commend your effort (albeit pointless) to stop people from playing. It's a personal decision to keep playing and everyone's personal decision to spend their days playing the game. I mean, you might as well go to every single MMO website and give them the same message. You could also visit every casino, every nightclub, or any other place of entertainment that might otherwise refrain people from enjoying life in some way that you personally see fit. The fact that this form of entertainment is virtual does not make it any more or less wasteful than some other hobby where investing time and money is a necessity.

@Ben, and Ping-lo

It is truly disappointing to see how people can be towards each other. More than half the members on this forum have claimed to have quited sro. But every time I come on here, I see them posting about what a terrible game sro is, and that everyone should quit. Not allowing the new members the chance to play the game.

My question is. If you've quited the game and are enjoying life so much? why do you come on here and post about how the game is horrible? Why do you care, if you don't play the game any longer? Do you think your fooling anyone? If your life is so great after quiting sro, why do you come on here to post? Let these guys enjoy their game. Its not fair of you to have played the game and now that have have "quit" try to turn everyone against the game. And quit with you too.

The truth is. Ben liked silkroad when he first started playing it, like all of us on here. After playing for a while he starts to realize some faults in the game, so he probably tried to quit a couple of times but always came back. Like he did couple days ago, even though he was off playing wow. What you guys don't realize is that sro was filling a void in your life, it provided you with entertainment when your were not working, at school, with family or friends. With sro gone, that void returns, you feel sad and even lonely, so you start to go through withdrawals from the game that was filling the void. You then start to feel bitter about all the time you spent playing sro. Why? because its now over and you feel it was a waste, because it came to an end. But everything comes to an end, thats just part of life. You enjoy things while they last, and then move on to something else. It makes no sense to look back and feel bitter about something like playing sro. If you do, then your going to stay stagnant feeling bitter, when you could have been doing other things. Over the years I've played many MMO's, I still remember some of them vividly. I even download some of then and log in once in a while, to say hi to old friends. But I would never say to them what a waste of time their game is. Because its serving a purpose for them, like it was serving me previous.

@Ben, its obvious that your experience with sro have cause you to be bitter towards the game. Yes, Joymax put their money making agenda first, as opposed to good customer service. But at one point we all ignored that, we played alongside the gold bots, player bots, the scammers and the hackers. Some of us decided that enough was enough after only a couple months, but for some it will take years. Its not your job to decide when that time is, everyone will quit sro eventually; like everything else in life. You just have to give them time.

I would suggest you do some soul searching. Find what makes you have, find what your interested in; and do them. Only them will you be less bitter about sro, and your experience playing. Don't think your a bad person for attempting to do what you did. Writing this has also brought up some bad memories with my experience playing sro, and my grief with my many attempts to overcome my sro addiction. But now I just tell my self, sro is a game, it served its purpose for me for a while, that time is now over and its time to move on.

~Life can be really fun, enjoy everything while they last, don't look back and regret or feel bitter about your past experiences. Only then will you be able to move on and enjoy something else. We are all gamers, we should be kind towards each other. Because thrust me, the world isn't always kind to us.

~Love you guys.

Ping_lo leave them alone. Its people like you that are sad and miserable that looks over and see everyone else having fun and laughing. So to feel better about yourself, you try to take it away from them. Its like that saying goes "misery loves company". If everyone quit sro will you be happy then?

Alot of you are hiding behind this "its just a hobby" nonsense. It's not a hobby for most of you. Joymax does nothing but feed on the addictiveness of mmo's. Hobbies tend to be rewarding and fun. Tell me what is fun about sro? Tell me how it is rewarding? Truth is its a shitfest, has been for awhile now, and anyone who played at 70 cap has every right to be pissed off and dissappointed for what Joymax ALLOWED to happen to this game.

Like exaggerating much, don't you? I made one comment about you deserving what you got and you're acting as if that was the only thing the majority paid attention to. Stop acting like you really just want a discussion. You're just trying to insult people who still play the game. Your original post, as well-written as it is, is essentially "FACK JOYMAX FACK MATHER AND SISTER AND FAMALY!!!".

Can't you people really just let others have their fun? Why do you ever feel the need to call them out on their choice of hobby? I played at 70 cap and can see your point but seriously... go be pissed off and disappointed somewhere else. Stop bugging people who still like this game.

Im not pissed off or dissappointed. Im playing on Fembria and having hella fun. Playing sro the way it should be. I only posted because people are bashing the OP for basically telling you what you don't want to hear or accept, the truth. Peace.

Not everyone would agree that Fembria is how SRO should be.
No one bashed dear Ben nearly as much as he bashed everyone else. You can't say that his opinion is the truth. Even he himself didn't go that far.

Edit: Well, he did. But really, one Ben's opinion is just that...an opinion.
