So far I think only Trace and larrylhm got the point of my whole essay.
The rest of the forum is either lazy or didn't get it. :D

In every game, especially in an MMORPG, there will always be someone who will try to cheat, and often times succeed. That's a given - ALWAYS. You can blame the community of cheaters as much as you want, and you have all the right to do so, together with all the evidence you can amass. But cheating is so widespread and commonplace that it's expected by both players and companies. Pointing your finger at the cheater is pointing at the obvious. They will ALWAYS exist.

Who then rightfully deserves the blame and the responsibility? The company, in this case, Joymax. They made the rules. They should enforce the rules. By ignoring the cheaters, they sent a message that it is perfectly fine to cheat. They have been doing this for almost the entire lifetime of the game. It has now come to a point where Silkroad is beyond salvation.

You can convince a community to do good and play by the rules. But when this community is the Silkroad community, don't even think about it.

Btw, welcome to 2007.

I'd rather say welcome to 2010. Because Joymax is doing something now. Haven't you noticed Hackshield? Bot Bans? Events? But if you read PureStr's topic, you'll notice that the community is so screwed up, that even Joymax can't do much except for banning botting and stuff.
That's why I'm trying to spread this message and change something in the community.

You sir are a man of vision....I've been saying the same thing for quite some time now. I haven't said it better myself. Let all the other idiots like the OP be swayed by Joymax current actions of actually showing they're tryin to do something.

I got a question for the OP (Thread starter). If someone been treating you like crap for almost 4 years then suddenly started showing signs that they care would give em a chance? I mean they had (ie Joymax had) 4 years to turn this hell hole around but didn't.

My nick is curvekiller.
I'm christian and therefore I believe that everyone deserves a second chance, even if it's a money greedy company like Joymax. I've suffered Joymax's passivity all those years, too, and I was equally angry. But I'm happy that they're trying to improve and now it's time for the community to change, too.

I actually can't stand people who blindly place their faith and their beliefs in someone else without assessing the situation with their own brain. Joymax had 365 days x 3 to make things better. 365x3 to create second chances.

Even now I still see gold bots everywhere and you sit there like a crackhead high on faith talking about you're happy with what they are doing now. I have no love or sympathy for you types when greedy corporations rip you off. Joymax lives off of your gullibility and smiles when they see postings like yours.

Calm down, big fellow. No accusations please. We're just discussing that the community can accomplish something, too, it's not about Joymax. And now please refrain from blaming everything on Joymax and ignoring what I wrote in the first place.

And no, Heysan, Magikarp didn't tell me so :P

I'm not sure if I'd be laughing, the post was directed towards your wall of text. The same thing will happen to your dream server as what has happened to ISRO.

I'm not sure if you understood what I wrote, but if the community would just think, it would work.

If your entire paragraph wasn't full of subjective drivel, the point you were trying to make might have had some impact, but it's all just how you "feel" about things.

How is it about how i feel???
It's plain reality, i'm trying to get out the message that Silkroad can be fun without being at the cap, and make SRO fun for everybody again. It's about how bots infected the game due to the mentality of some people.
I wouldn't call the subjective.

Sentence after sentence all I see is conjecture and shots in the dark sprinkled with appeals to emotion with no definite heading except for "BOTS R BAD GUYS, MMKAY. COMMUNITY IS DUMB. WATCH ME TRY TO BE DEEP."

Oh, you! Why do I care how cool I look in an online forum? I just have a thing against stupidity being passed off as something of value.

It's as if this is the only MMO you've played. Most of the problems SRO suffers from are problems all MMORPG's suffer from after a year or two without having bots run rampant. I understand that you want the joy you had during the first 10 lvls of the game, but it isn't coming back. Fix the inherent problems with MMO's then worry about bots and the community later.

Curvekiller is forgetting who is in charge. In this garbage dump that is isro who has the "REAL" power to end this? The community or Joymax? Why should we the community do anything to fix the game? We buy silk and "WE" should fix it too? Fairy dust and sprinkles with ice cream and cheery on top won't appeal to the morals of someone that is breaking the rules "in plain view" and not being punished

but yah, true story, I remember when Silkroad had no goldbots...then one day the march began to a slowly but surely declining community...sad story, but I think maybe JM realized that even with bots, the money they're making has reduced, so Silkroad 2 may be their attempt to gain back the legit community and start making the money they used to, and maybe the version will be better equipped for dealing with hacks and much much more.

Why lock? No reason to lock.
Yeh, you're right, I hope JM uses the chance to make a legit and fun SRO with SRO2. And make it an awesome new game without bugs, too! :dope:
