yeah it does. its not about the client. its about the number of connections to the login servers from a specific ip address.

Client or clientless are the same when it comes to the limits.

Stop saying proxies are a solution. You probably did not tried it because it is a big pain to do.

Saw on forums some feedback from people who got blocked in the first waves and it was already hard to find good proxies. Now, since all proxies are all limited to 2 accounts, it means those people who want to run 10 chars need 4 working proxies all the time.

Oh and, for those running 8/8 partys, what happens when 1 proxy dies? Whole party get screwed.

Thats not even talking about the lag caused by most proxies. Can goes from a lil to few seconds. And getting paid proxies is not much different. Most companies offer proxies constantly because they are meant to die at some point. They are on hacked computers, and those computer reset at random times.

And the websites with free proxies will be used by a bunch of SRO players, so expect a lot of full proxies with already 2 client logged...

This might finally means the end of multiclients maybe beside for a few hardcores... I can see some people spending their whole time in front of the computer to clean storages and to find working proxies :) So much fun! lol

Oh and, if I was playing and wanted to get some free accounts, you know it is really easy to retrieve users/passwords from some unsafe proxies? Just need to setup a little website with few of our own proxies and...

Now that most cheaters will use them, expect more hacked accounts...

It's a band-aid to the entire thing. People will find better work arounds for this and you can purchase proxy server(s) for fairly cheap. I can assure you gold bot companies will not just give up for an easy cashcow.

Nearly every country has the IP limit now, except the country that houses the goldbotcompanies...

Well they only fill up like half the servers. The other half is like 80% multiple characters. Leaving the servers at ~60% full. *goes to rev6* Damn I was pretty damn close 50~65%. Then again servers did just recently go up. We'll see in 12 hours if it stays the same.

Is it a fact that China/Japan does not have ip limit? Because it looks like they applied the limit to every countries.

If thats the case, then it is just clear that they support gold bots.

Like I said, paid proxies those look better on paper, but in fact they also go down quite often. They are on hacked computer that the proxies companies does not own.

And you still need 1 proxy for each 2 accounts.

Most botters use bots because they are lazy and don't have much time to play. If they have to spend some hours every day to find a good working proxy, and it might goes down few hours later, then I feel like most will rage quit. So far it seems to be what it is happening from what I see from in game globals and forums. We will see in few days / weeks if they really does.

And gold bots companies will work where there is no IP limit like Japan/China (if thats really the case), but I dont see how this could work elsewhere. Unless they make their own proxies... But will it be really worth it? I dont know how much gold is bought nowadays, but seeing the activity went down a lot in last few years, some companies might just drop SRO and focus on WoW and the new games like Aion/Rift and co.

Uhm.. wat. You stated there are countries not restricted. Why wouldn't they use one of those?

Paid services are ran by a lot of people for many reasons. Not every service is on a 'hacked computer.' It's a legitimate business.

I was just asking If its been proved that China/Japan countries have no limit as of today. Because thats where gold companies are for the most. And I doubt they will all keep going if they have that limit.

Heard Egypt and Turkey and getting limit raised to 8 per IP, or removed alltogether. Wait and see I guess...

here in Philippines still many ppl play in internet cafe. its not a good idea, I sometimes go to cafe where I used to play and hunt together with friends. Oh well, I guess its the best for everyone, but why there are still many spammers and goldbot stallers in towns? hope then ban all countries, this means I can now enter some parties cuz most of them are controlled by 1 char 8/8 and its hard for me to look for a party.

Well if parties are controlled by 1 person runnign 8/8, then with the new limit, there would only be 2/8, so they will need to join with actual ppl now...

Heard the limit's been removed altogether with turkey and egypt...

It makes no difference to me as i rarely open 2 clients anyway (and i never opened +2 till now) But i pity internet cafes as it will make a big difference to them (to some of them at least) .

Come on, that 'internet cafe' bs is just a reason botters use. I bet not even 1% of the legit people plays from cafe... So that must be around 0.001% of whole SRO.

Set to 8 so they can keep running their full party? lmao plain retarded.

Where you guys read that?

At first, I thought it was a joke topic because of how the TC formatted the topic post (I was sleepy at the time, but meh.), but I just noticed the server traffic has been surprisingly much lower than before.

When there's a will, there's a way. Proxies, if you know how to use them.

Should've been 4 at the very most imo. If internet cafes are affected by it then those cafe's could personally call and tell them and prove them they're a legit business and unrestrict that ip.

I dont get why JM added philippines where i couldn't see ppl playing SRO anymore and even the private servers.

Most of the time ppl here play CF or LOL or even LAN DotA. Me? I only play Garena DotA when i feel bored from all PHP Crap.

Also, we are also waiting for SRO2. So why spend time on this when a better game will come up in the future... We are patient enough for the long wait.

Anyone who believes or still believe that Jerkoff2theMax is concerned about botting would be the biggest moron alive. Why are they trying to implement an IP restriction when a they can just ban bots from plain old GM work. I'm sure they can see botters even without the aid of GMs. They don't care about botting. They care about making money.

You said it. Having a GM run around to ban people costs money.
