based on his/her attitude thus far, i vote against even thinking of considering c0kane as our translator. i'd rather someone who couldn't speak korean as well but was silling to do the SRO community a nice service than a fluent speaker who has that kind of attitude. you should be ashamed of yourself, really.

True, so ill open it up. Who out there arent fluent or too strong in Korean but are willing to help out?
You could work with another person who is not so fluent also but between the two or more of you, you will correct eachothers translations and between you make a good or at lease descent translation.
It does not have to be perfect but it has to be better than an online translator.

Not many translators can offer that I think. Leave the planet.

P.S: Here meaning Earth.
@Key-J: I don't expect to be paid in cash so entice me with an offer.
Some suggestions are maybe access to SRF file dump if you guys have one, ingame rewards, etc.

Ashamed because I'm not a charity? Hardly.
Anyway, I get the message so the offer for my service is off the table.

clearly you are missing the point of what a fan community is about. but i don't want to turn Key's thread into a bashfest, so i'll leave it at that. your offer has been respectfully declined.

Oh, high and mighty SG will have mercy on me? I tremble before your might.
Before I depart, I'll point out that my offer was retracted before you "declined".

YOURE FIRED!
YOU CAN’T FIRE ME! I QUIT!
Seriously... why does everything end up like this...?
This crisis could have been totally side stepped if:
1) c0kane gave some form of idea of what he was looking for in form of an offer rather than pushing for something to be put on the table which naturally looks like fishing for greed. (I honestly don’t think a file dump is too much to ask for [providing it is what I think it is...])
2) Everyone/anyone noticed the thread once read "Key-J is hiring" not "The silk road community and all of its judgmental quick shooting opinionates are hiring".
If everyone could have kept their $0.02 to themselves we may have not shot ourselves in the foot in regard to getting a clear professionals assistance (professional in the sense of a fluent speaking constant visiting translator, I have no idea of the man/woman's work ethic.)
Sometimes the best cause for a campaign is to shut the **** up and know your role.
Myself personally I can live without knowing everything Korea has in the pipe works but I know there are people who stare at the pictures and funny squiggle lines trying to make something out in the games progression. As much as I couldn’t care, I feel disheartened for those people who now need to wait for the next best thing as our best lead yet has been severed with little remorse.

Good job moderating on the part of Key-J; for maintaining a positive attitude and FFGirl; for being patient and generally a good mod.

@SG: That wasn't disrespect, constructive criticism really.
If you want respect, earn it. Bias doesn't help.

unfortunately, you don't have the luxury of ignoring the forum rules. if you ask around a bit, you'll find that i am actually very respected on this forum. you're still pretty new here, so it's not surprising that you don't know me too well yet, since i've been posting a bit less lately. i tried to take this to PMs, but you ignored my attempt and decided to continue publicly. flaming me is a quick way to get banned. continuing to clutter up this thread is in poor taste. i offered you an olive branch; i suggest you take it.

Oh ho, a token of peace?
Myself not responding to your PM is due to the fact that all pop-ups get blocked by my browser so that was ignorance on my part. Oh, and I'll accept this offer of peace if you edit swifty's post, or return my post to it's original state.

sorry, i missed swifty's, which i guess is what started this whole flame/counterflame war. and my apologies for assuming you ignored my PM on purpose. add SRF to your allowed sites list for popups; i had that problem on my laptop at first too.

This doesn't work for images, but you might wanna try a translater i've used a while back to trasnlate taiwan txt to post on my clan forum for a game I use to play. It translates sites as well as text, but like I said it doesn't translate images.

i wish i can really help.. -.-" i m neither fluent in english nor speak Korean accept "Kimchi" ^______^.. but what i see is that this "J" dude is requesting for help.. so the answer is either "Yes" or "No". In game rewards or other kinds of rewards can be considered later and can be negotiated right? So.. he/she is asking.. so answer it with short to the point.
My Answer: NO
Reason: Language Barrier

Wow, I didn't think it would be so difficult to recruit volunteers for general translations for SRO updates.
I guess dumbarse drama does exist.
I'll gladly join. I no longer play SRO and I don't expect any rewards from you since getting in-game items for my character would not benefit me in any way, shape, or form. Also, Key-J, if you search through some of my old threads (if they still exist), there used to be another user who spoke Korean rather fluently. S/he even corrected my translation which went blurry at the end about party quests and instanced zones.

Lets just leave c0kane out of it, his/her offer was both revoked and redrawn. I have snowmunkey91 working on it, he said i would get the first translation by today or tomorow. So its a waiting game now
However if one or two of you PM him, maybe it would be less of a wait <.<
