Lol I run from higher lvls who can 1-hit me no matter what job I'm doing, because whats the use of vainly dying? Its not the job but the player... thieves can be bitching about hunters and vice-versa. Just don't complain, because its not the job suit they put on but who they are, and they may also want to just have some fun when they're having problems for some reason. Though I don't do it much, I can't deny that lion-shouting people is fun....

LOL il tell you sumthing. Alot of hunters and theives are idiots. Its like they put the job on and they are on a quest to be god of SRO and nuthing will stop them in there chosen job.

By this i am talking about the ferry ports. WE all no how teleporting at the ferry can get u out of trouble if a hunter or theif is around. How many times ive teleported back and forth and back and forth on a trade horse or in a theif or hunter suite being chased by one of them. OMG its alot and i dnt lie. Its like they see you and your theres and they wont stop untill your dead.

Ive had many hunters teleport after me at the ferry 20 times b4 i escape or die. God move on forget me and give up noob how SAD are you.

does my nut pffff

Thief get shit. We don't make alot of money. We don't get any breaks. We get shit from almost every player on the server. You always have to be on the look out cause any minute somebody cause become an a**hole and try to kill you. And i wouldn't do any other job in the game cause thief PWN and look dam good doing it so yes i will take my anger out on the nearest lvl 20 1* i see same goes for any trade my lvl or a bit above. You can't expect us to be walked all over and then not kick back thats just stupid

P.S. I can;t wait for the job update so hunters will stay hunters and thiefs will stay thiefs. I get tired of getting killed by high lvl hunter who log off then back on and put on theif gear to take my stuff. Noble and righteous indeed.

Further, the very nature of thieving lends itself to trickery, lots of "just trust me, I promise I won't do...." which of course you know they will never keep their promises, which they then get angry at you for blowing them off. There is no pleasing a thief. Their whole mindset is "it's mine! I take what I want!", and I have NEVER met an honorable thief that would even ress a lowbie bystander they killed by parading their lvl 4x transport through the tigers in Jangan.

I was popped by a thief once, who did the whole attack my transport thing to get it close to dead, and as soon as it was gone one-shot killed me. I was fine with it. Take the goods, go, a bystander comes up and resses me after he left. I'm standing there trying to take off my flag, and the jerk comes back and kills me again. I had already given up my goods, I waited for him to leave, I was taking off my flag. Another time, I was popped, but I escaped at the life of my camel. Fine, I'm running back to DW, and getting attacked by earth ghosts so I can't get my flag off. Along comes a lvl 2x thief who just hits me for no reason, I had no transport or anything. Thieves do that crap too. In this case I whupped the lowbie but still, I've had the same thing happen with thieves higher than me also. I've experienced too many cases of thieves doing crappy things and not nearly enough doing any kind of "decency" at all. Meanwhile, I've seen a lvl 50 hunter walk up to a popping party of thieves near the docks (they don't even try to hide, they just sit there knowing the traders have to go through there), who were all lower level. And he didn't begin to attack any of them, he just waited there warning them to not touch the traders. Until a lvl 6x thief comes up behind him and one-shots him. Yeah, some honor there.

firstly i didn't say theifs were honorable. We basic use Guerilla war tactics. You get in, do as much damge as quickly as possible, get out, hide. Any thief who just stands there killing hunters or tries to convince you he's not going to hurt you is probably someone who multi-jobs. When i say Theif im not talking about the ones who go theif when they feel like it just to kill some noobs. I mean the guys who only wear Theif outfit, Know how to theif, and are at the very least Theiflvl 2.4 (i know theres no way for you to tell but if yoru thief lvl's not past that your not theifing enough).
I have on many occasions killed multi-star camels with lvl 2X's and let them go. I've told them to run away and i wouldn't kill them. And then they get mad and attck me so they die. Not my fault. I have seen thiefs ress traders take the loot and go only to be followed by said traders until there high lvl guildie comes along and kills the thief. I have seen those few honorable hunters who warn theifs not to attack and i have told them to leave before i kill them because they are a liability. Im not about to let some hunter get righteous and follow me until his high lvl partners show up, kill me, and then give my loot to some union/guld mate so he can go 1* pop.
So yeah i've seen all the kind of a**holes in the game and most of them are hunters. Try being a thief for one day and see how much more of an a**hole everyone becomes then they hide behind the "thiefs are evil shit" THEIFS ARE A NECESSITY. If thiefs did not exist everyone would 5* it up and because silk road is a real-time economy traders would start loseing money. I don't complain about the exisitance of hunters. They are also a NECESSITY albeit an overpowered one. I complain about the hunters who just like to PK or just hunt theifs to give the loot to there friends. THATS NO BETTER THAN THIEFING. And no i don't apprecite Thief who just PK either. I have called out hunters told them i wasn't going to kill them and let them kill the a**hole thief. So don't play the "hypocrite" card. I like the job system i just wish people would use it the way it was meant to be used

And no worse than thieving either, as long as Joymax doesn't try to prevent it.

So, if it is your opinion that high level hunters should not kill lower level thieves, then why do you think it is ok to attack lvl 2x trades? It is the same thing, traders have more than just their exp to lose. You are taking their cash. It is just as bad as the high level hunter killing you. If you are 4x or above you should not be anywhere near the DW/Jang docks. Yet I see it all the time. I agree thieves are necessary, and part of the fun of doing a trade run. It just just total crap that higher level thieves attack lower level trades, just as you are complaining about the hunters. If you don't like the hunters killing you, then convince your fellow thieves to quit attacking lower level traders. Honestly, the triangle system is working in a way. A bit broke and could be improved, but if the thieves are getting killed by hunters, and traders are complaining about getting nailed by thieves, then I'd say the job system is working. Every faction will despise their enemy job. Traders hate their predator the thief, and the thieves hate their predator the hunter.

I find it funny how you say the a**holes in the game are the hunters. There are few hunters on my server, and most of the a**holes are thieves.

I will say that no, I rarely see thieves using "guerrilla tactics" on my server. They don't hide, they stand out in the open. The only times I don't see them coming is when they are not wearing a suit, but riding a horse rounding up mobs to swarm me, and putting on the thief suit at the last second to kill me off and take my goods. Or, they run as a hunter scouting for a thief popper, then take off the card, ferry, and come back as thief to take your goods. Otherwise they just stand out in the open along the trade routes, or right at the ferry. No hiding, they just hang out there knowing we might be able to take a sneaky route and avoid them but we cannot avoid having to go through the ferry. I hate the whole ferry system, I can't do sneaky runs because no matter what route I take I'm going to have to risk the thieves at the docks. I wish they would implement NPC Hunters that spawn around the dock area to keep the thieves back there. Once we are away from the docks and running the country side we are fair game, but seeing thieves just standing with their white horses spawning NPCs at the Jangan docks is just crap.

Finally, I am in total agreement with you that I cannot wait for the job updates to balance things out. I also hate the whole job switching thing. You should have to commit to one job or the other. If a trader were found thieving the merchant guild would have removed their membership in that time, and not permitted them to trade under the trader flag. Same with Hunters, it only makes sense that if you are a hunter with a card and all you would have membership revoked if you thieved.

I wish I'd see more hunters on my server. Every night as I run along grinding or whatever I see a one hunter to every 40 thieves. And many times the hunter is standing there killing the thieves NPCs, helping them. Trading is basically hiding and running as fast as possible, I haven't been able to run camels in ages because they can't outrun poppers. I get popped about 1 in every 5 trades, sometimes more, and my successes are mostly due to outrunning the poppers on my horse. I spend more time hiding from thieves than anything. You would think it was the thieves hiding and using stealth tactics but it is the reverse, it is the traders that have to hide in the bushes from the thieves that walk the main roads. And there aren't any hunters willing to escort anything more than a 1* anymore, so it is completely impractical to try hiring one. The few times I did take along a hunter they ended up just running away when the thieves showed up.

Me personally, I can't stand poppers. It's just wrong. Yea you can do it cuz it's the mechanics of the game, but it's simply demoralizing. Think about it, some low level 2x guy who can barely even make it to DW without being killed by the higher level mobs is getting attacked by lvl 4x+ thieves. Not cool. They lose at least 15k in what they bought. Take for example my most recent popping encounter. I'm was level 26 and doing a solo trade run from DW to Jangan. I made it to the ferry no problem killing my NPC's and any annoying little mobs. I teleport to the other side to see FOUR level 4x+ thieves just waiting. All of them on transports, all of them waiting to pop 1* trades. I spent 10k gold teleporting back and forth and they constantly followed me, back and forth. One guy got so pissed at me that he actually cussed me out on whisper. I finally lost them and was able to continue the trade. I made it to the tigers only to come across a level 6x thief who immediately popped me. The second my camel died, a level 4x thief came out of no where and killed me. I gave up my camel and was running away and he chased me down just to kill me. I lost exp, my camel, and 15k in trader items. Not to mention the 10k i lost through teleporting. That's 5 poppers I came across in less than 5 minutes. They sit and camp the ferries and no hunter is even bold enough to do anything about it. It really ruins the game for low level players who just want to see what jobbing is all about. In all reality, you can't be a successful jobber until at least level 45.

My goal is to do some low level trades now with some high level buddies helping. Then I'll try thieving to see if I can take out multistar trades (never popping). And then I'll try hunting and I'll camp the ferries like thieves do. I'll make it nice and easy for low level traders to get away from mean poppers. Thieves have no right to kill and take the money of low level 1* traders. That's why they can't attack them. I don't care what level thief you are, if you get anywhere near 1* trades, i'll make sure you pay.

I already said thiefs who play as hunters aren't real thiefs. I also explained my reason for 1* popping. Its not like thiefs don't lose money from theifing. Pots, pills, and teleporting away from hunters adds up. And for every lvl 2X who doesn't make it there are tons more who do. You can see them coming into east gate. And I thought i made it very clear i was not complaining about hunters. I was complainging about Hunters who just do it to PK, and there are alot of them, every 4X+ hunter who pulls out there card to attack me when im wearing my lvl 16 blade and sheild is one of them. A real theif only bothers to PK a**hole hunters because thats just extra Arrange Points we don't need. I can't tell you how annoying it is becoming a target just because you have a wanted. I've had union hunter mates attck me i mean WTF..while that says alot about the union  it also says alot about how far hunters are willing to go just too PK.

Also i'd like to tell you a nice story of how I became a thief since you brought up your 1* popping experience....I was just little noob trader trying to find a caravan to go with. I see a large group of traders and hunters leaving JG so i whisper one and ask to join in. He says ok. I load up a 3* camel and get ready to go. Afterwhile some high lvl hunters come along (i was like 2X the hunters were 4X-5X) so im thinking im safe this is going to be a good run. We load up and head out. So many hunters i'm not having a problemm with anything. Then we get to the top of JG East Ferry. The lead hunter whispers to me "100k for protection." I was a noob i didn't even have 100k i set out on this journey under the impression that hunters were helping out for the sake of helping out. I whisper him back "100k? isn't that a little expensive" he whispers "100k at the ferry or im calling theifs."   WTF just happened i thought hunters were good guys not jerks trying to muscle a group of noobs out of money. I'd been hood-winked, bam-boozeled, cheated. The triangle trade system looked down at me and took a big sh*t right in my face. Hunters had become highway robbing, blackmailing bandits and i didn't even see it coming :banghead: . I decided not to pay and thank god for Aege server i soon got d/c. When i logged back on i was safe the hunters were gone i was free. I continued my journey at soon arrived at DW East Gate. I MADE IT!!!! I could see the gate coming out of the foggy draw distance and my heart was filled with pride and joy. I had outwitted hunters and taken a 3* trade through DW. Sadly the draw distance also loaded something else. Theifs. Two of them lvl 4X were at east gate. There wolfs attcked me first but i was on my camel. I potted off the damage and kept going. Nukes were fired Glaives started sweeping me but i was so close....My camel died at the very gates of DW. So close that i stepped 2 feet and was in the safe zone with wolves still trying to attck me. I had failed. My camel gone, my goods gone, all the money watsed on pots and pills gone. I decided to give up trading forever. There was no way to do a 1* without gettiing popped. No way to do a multi-star when you have to watch out for hunter who might betray you and thiefs who will kill you. I decided i would NEVER wear a hunter card. That job was nothing more than a lie. A job set up and used by players to take advantage of those to weak and ignorant to defend themselves, low lvl traders. So with those options out of the way I turned to theifing and never looked back. So when i 1* pop i know what im doing and how it feels and if i can i'll let them live but i choose the last job left for me and so far it hasn't steered me wrong. I've decided i wouldn't e prey or taken advantage of again. I thief alone now and i decide what traders live and what traders die. Sometimes its out of convience other times its just me taking out anger. So theres no point complaing about 1* popping you can stick with being a trader. Or you can find i better job. I know i did  :D

Expenses of pills, pots, and teleport scrolls are something we ALL pay, no matter what job you do, or even none. You can't compare your expense to that of a trader losing 15k, because your expense is ALSO what I have to pay out for the same thing, in ADDITION to the 15k I have to pay for goods. Second, you think it is ok to pop a lvl 2x, but think it is wrong for a higher level hunter to kill you? That is the SAME thing. You popping a lower level is the same thing as a higher level hitting you. If you don't see anything wrong with the first one then you cannot complain about the second one.The hunters are killing you so you don't kill us.

Regarding your story, I've also been duped by a hunter, I've seen other getting duped. That is part of the game, you trust no one unless you befriend them first. I have a small handful of ppl I trust on the server but everyone else you cannot. I do not trust most high levels. And I agree it is messed up, there could be improvements made to the system, which I am waiting for. But even with your little story, it does not make my point above invalid. Logic states that you cannot find popping low level traders ok but a higher level hunter killing you is wrong.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I am not complainign about getting killed by High LVL hunters. I have already said that. Im complaing about getting killed by hunters just for the sake of PK OR so they can give my goods to there guildies so THEY can go 1* pop. I mean when im wearing noob weapons some lvl 4X will come along and try to kill me. I DONT DO THAT. I will not see a hunter runnign past whose lvl 2X, stop, follow him, put on my thief suit, get off my horse, then kill him. Thats Killing for that sake of Killing and thats what i have a problem with. And i'd like to see you stand in one spot with a 5* trade and see how many pots and pills you go through. Most traders don't do past 2* without help from hunters or freinds. So yeah if a thief wanted to make as much money as a trader who was 5*(with help) i know it cost more pills and pots to try to equal that much with consecutive thief runs because i have done a 5* with help and i have made about 250k with consective thief runs and i used more pots and pills thiefing than i did during the trade run

While most traders do this:

The legendary/hardcore trader is doing this:  :P :banghead:

If you can't trade and all you can do is abuse the "I LIKE TO KILL (POP) PEOPLE WHO DON'T STAND A CHANCE". issue (bug) your not really thiefing. I've met all of them. All different types. Sometimes they pop me most of the time they don't, they aren't around or they are just too stupid to die (or too scared to die, or to pussy to take on the mercs, or whatever.)

For the thieves...

The fact is: YOU DIE. GET OVER IT. MOVE ON FIND ANOTHER TRADE.

For the traders...

Take it from me: GET YOUR GOODS, BOOT UP, SHUT UP AND GET OUT THE GATE AND GO.

Well jeez ani't it a generic asshole to put your ego on the plate and watch the poor level 20 lose one load and go broke or you could try and pop me while I take on your thieves at level 73, then level 77 and finally at level 80. Better yet you can blow me while I get level 6 trader or you could actually make some money and help me. You do know (looks around at no-name-no-certain-no-brainer thieves in particular) that traders get paid the most. While thieves get absolutely nothing or in the current trade environment thieves only get what the trader paid for the goods. Sheez what a waste of man power all that just for some goods that you will get jack money for anyway.

But anyway just remember eventually that 'little level 20' is going to get up in levels and come back and you won't be popping anymore. You, in some cases may even be running.

Oh and if anyone thinks that getting popped once is something. Don't even bother asking me how many times I've been burned, electrocuted, nuked, slashed, stunned and in some cases popped to get where I am while in job. The risks I've taken. The time I've taken. 8)

Finally if you think trading is boring and you chose thief because because you think "it's easy now". You wait until the new job update. You WILL no way in hell have a chance with your precious f@#$ing pop cause all those hunter npcs and thief npcs are person dependent so they will be targeting you and only you. Did we also forget to mention they use a range of skills in the JSRO version as well. Not only that but 1 star will spawn 2 npc thieves / hunters and 5 star will spawn 10 thieves / hunters.

I am sure you get the idea.

Good now that I've got that off my chest I feel a hell of a lot better! Tea anyone? :?

Hey -.-, not all hunters are like what some of are saying, I was always a hunter, the first lvl 3 in xian, and I barely ever atked newbs, unless I was in a bad mood or they hit first I never actually did, everyday after a few trips to the cave I always put on a hunter suit, went to the crossroads from don and back, sometimes to jangan, or maybe to hotan, mainly I wanted to atk just botters and ppl I didn't like, if i saw like someone getting popped or robbed I would help them though too, but mostly just scare the low lvls, like phantom right next to them, then they run away lol, that was always fun.

The fact is: YOU DIE. GET OVER IT. MOVE ON FIND ANOTHER TRADE.

why'd you blurs your stats?

and there is no lvl 6 trader currently its not possible max is 5 as far as i know

and plz stfu the topics not about how good of a trader you are especially since your useing mercs. I think all jobs become alot easier when there around so its not really something brag about. And talk about ego's next time post a pic of yourself with all your mercs doing a 5 star trade and just standing at DW South gate since from the way you talk about yourself you must be bada** Rolling Eyes . Plz stop crying about 1* popping cause i'd sooner kill traders like you than pop a 1* anyday. So listen calm your nerves down step back and realize that since traders get paid the most loseing 15k isn't that big a deal. They can make that back + way more on a grind everyone knows that. And furthermore since you realize that thiefs get no money from traders maybe.... Shocked we're not in it for the money. Congrats you solved the age old mystery and your the only person whose ever come to this eye openign conclusion (even before all the thiefs out there). So thank you for enlighting us all with that useless ego-pumping post that just basically you bragging...alot....welcome SRF by the way

Did I get your attention yet, apparently I got the animated penis's attention.

1. I only started using mercs when I was level 5.
1.a: To hunt down certain individuals who "got in my way"
1.b: I would risk my dropped load to hunt these individuals.

2. I'd like to see you get level 5. *cough* dancing pen... *cough*
2.a: Im sorry Franky but the dancing thing is just to funny to resist commenting about.

3. Im sick and tired of people not taking death on the chin and learning from the experience.
3.1: While trading
3.1.1: Then they come and beg me for cash.
3.1.2: Which they didn't earn.

4. Im sick and tired of traders thinking that trading is a free lunch.
4.1: Because it isn't. In the current job environment.
4.1.1: Also because low levels always ask me "CAN I TAKE A 2 STAR?!"
4.1.2: In the current job environment you still do NEED manpower (Hunters) to take the thieves on the road.

5. Trading is boring
5.1: So says Mr Thief who thinks that spawning high level monsters (npc thieves)
5.1.1: Is part of the game
5.1.2: When it was never intended. Hence the new system.
5.1.2.1: New job update. See point: 5.1.2

6. To be blunt 50% of the thief population is all about playing the hero.
6.1: But when they get laid the smack down.
6.1.1: They become the crying biznitch.
6.1.2: When a trader lays the smack down its "PLZ REZ ME"
6.1.2.1: Unexpected to be killed by a trader.

7. I always blur my stats.
7.1: Wouldn't you.
7.1.1: Because I like my privacy.
7.1.2: And Im sick and tired of telling people how to build their characters.

8. 60% of the people when the new job update comes will have trouble
8.1: Because:
8.1.1: Dropping the transport will require thief teamwork.
8.1.2: Something which has only been partially observed in the server: Aege where I come from
8.1.3: No ego is not a big thing for me or the people "Aege" for numerous reasons. Quite a few of them are actually assholes. Unlike me who will tell you like it is
8.1.4: Hope your ready for the new job update I know I sure am.
8.1.4.1: Because there might be a sure people who will change their minds about playing thief.
8.1.5: Did we forget to mention you will be using mercs during the job update?

9. Quite a few of the thief populus is relient on transport popping
9.1: Because
9.1.1: You are two inbred on one gameplay ideal and not open to new ideals
9.1.2: There will be a massive outcry thief wise just like there is now with the bots.
9.1.3: Also they are two daft to take on a 4 star anyway. They would rather do it by themselves.

10. These dot points are great because
10.1: They are easy to understand
10.1.1: For people who can't read rants.
10.1.2: They actually give you perspectus. When your not thinking about whats happening outside your window.
10.1.3: When your mind is not on crack.

Comprehende?

Ok. 8)

P.S: Hope to get level 6 soon before the cap raise see you there.

I didn't even read the above statment after the first sentence  . Ah you gotta love it when ego-maniacs go some place and have to start out as beginners again. They think they can just jump into and take control. Amusing. And there is currently no lvl 6 available. good luck hope someone reads your next rant

<edit> i skimmed it and no i wouldn't blur my stats im surprised someone like you did what with all the bragging. And yeah...no one asked you about your build....no one will ask you about your build....ever..........ever

Yeah its pretty awesome to have a level 3 hunter. I think we might have one on here on Aege, but I am not sure. Would have to check. As for 'level 4 Hunter'. Jeez, I've tried asking around in a few places but there doesn't seem to be one on Aege. Would be nice to get all the job things together and photograph it.

I still have yet to see the level 4 hunter though.

I think everyone has missed the main point of this thread....its not about
hunters being better then theifs or vis-a-versa.

Its just about what a few people have said here, that hunters arent "noble"
at all and are just as ruthless, anoying and idiotic as theifs are.

The whole point was about high lv hunters who only kill low lv theifs and
then run like cowards at the first sign of a theif near to their lv.

Stat everyone got the point. Only it was pointless. It is not the job it is the player. Jobs got nothing to do with it. With such a low barrier to entry a game like this has you are gona get every tom, botter, and asshole. But don't let that fool you. There are honorable hunters and thief. If I pop someone I try to make it close to my lvl. And I often give them their money back after for showing me a good time. Though multi star are mine all mine. When I hunt I don't go after low lvls or if I do I give them a fighting chance. For instance there was a 32+ thief out today and I was feeling playfull. So I stripped down and put on a lvl 1 SOS sword and shield. I was naked save for them. I went after the transport first. He was nuking me the whole time. Decent damage too as I was naked. 3-4k easy 2-3 good hits and he could have killed me. But the lvl 1 blade did the trick. Much more saisfying than 1 hitting him and his horse at the same time with my sos 64. :P

I for one am a hunter to the end when the update comes thats what ill be. Tradings to slow an I have never thieved only put on the costume once to see what it looked like lol. People stop complaining liek in reality their are crooked cops and straight thieves. You just hafta deal with em as they come, but has been stated over n over u job expect to die unless ur some uber pimped 80. When I get bored I hunt (and farming 8 gap at 59 I get bored alot :D ). When i get raped I laugh an tell my killer nice one :D. Last two incidences come to mind. 1. Was 55 or so hunting with a friend o mines union an thier hunters/traders, was goin good then righ toutside jangan we all get slammed with the 57 fire nuke. I tasted dirt my wolf evaporated. I didnt bitch or moan I laughed, said something like whered that come from?. You move on man at 50+ 50k for the wolf aint that much neway (if u do job with a wolf expect to lose it lol). 2. was jus scanning from dw to jg for potential thieves. Was loking pretty scanty got to jg nothin an then goin back saw a thief on a 30+ horse nuked him kded an moved on. But as with karma goin back up wee a 64+ glaive thief -_-. Now fo sho 8 gappin exps poor dont want to lose it, i shoot off to the side liek a greased rat :D he was pretty slow an his phantom wasn that great but at some point i took a glaive to the back o my head oooo ifid onlyhad 100 mor hp :( yet again I took my defeat in good stead. Just a game peoples remember that. But reading this I realize I would rather be more chivalrous and only lay down thieves perpetrating acts, it's just that being used to gettin killed don sight by thieves I reciprocate in due fashion. That hunter faction updatey thing has me excited to say the least. Happy hunting/trading, and guys if noone thieved what fun wud that be? SNOOOORE (i actually like attempts to pop when im trading adds to the weee factor). 1 star loads like what barely 40k? When I grind im wipin 40k off my boots 8) Ok im done but when I post I POST.
