Quote: A full str glaive at 80 has Over 21k HP and with +5 gear, 685 def mag buff, X-large pots and vig grains no nuker will even scratch him. You are dreaming if you think an int char can kill a full str, or maybe your server doesnt have the alchemy update yet 0o.
Well, did you ever consider alchemy and equipments for the nuker as well?, or just weigh one side? I've seen many nukers lvl80 that eat glaivers easily. When it comes down to it, whoever has the better equipment wins. And between a glaiver and a nuker same lvl, similar equip, and both farmed. My money's on the nuker.

I've been garment since day 1 and have finally come to decide to switch. I've been a pure int from 1 to 70 and am now going pure str until lvl 80. I'll be going prot for the extra phys def [to make up for the fact that I'm not using a shield] and the fact that I still retain some of the benefits gained from wearing garment [speed and decreased mana consumption]. I'm not worrying much about the extra magic defense I'll loose compared to garment when vsing pure int mainly because of the extra hp I'll gain and because I have that handy dandy 685 magic def increase buff.

Meh...Why argue with you...Clearly you have a lvl 80 nuker and know how it is...
Or you are lowbie and watch high lvls ( but not really knowing their lvl or gears) fight and see the nuker win.

i think this topic about lvl 80 pvp should be kept w/ players that have experience. Obviously people who throw in comments here and there are low lvl players that watch youtube videos all day. Pure Int with nice gear are hard to take down. Hell, even a 2:1 hybrid is hard to take down with good gear (im not saying there weak, well yea i am...kinda). In general, people with good gear are hard to take down.

Homie, you dont know me. shit...80glaive 80 blade 80fire 60 light. I'll be what ever you want me to be. KDS fastswitch SSS your ass!
Well, back on topic. Thread creator, i think you need to narrow down the post becuase people dont know what your talking about as in which is best. Its obvious that people who like to waste their time PvPing (trades, hunting, and thiefing), would invest in a armor set and peopl who want to lvl will invest in a garment set. So duhhh go protector!!

I started with armor but quickly changed to protector due to the movement speed. I will probably stay with protector unless I start dyeing to much.hasn't been a problem in PVM but might be in PVP unless I can afford good gear.

In tibet, I was a nuker in armor. I had good defense, but I hated moving slow and not being able to catch people in garms when jobbing.
In Pacific, I'm in garms, and I'm loving every moment of it. The move speed increase saves my life against mobs far better than the extra phys defense of armor. I have over 50% move speed increase with garms and grasswalk. Also, I can actually tank gunpowder giants (and a normal gunpowder on top of that) with mostly 3D garms that I keep because they increase my INT. I really don't care about my defense, as I am wearing a lvl 14 talisman
When I am close to dying, all I do is run away from the monster. I also do better at tanking nukers, and I can actually outrun glavies who would beat me anyways. I like all the protector types, but I think I like garms the best even for pure int atm.

Like i told you the first day, most people use garment cus u can run faster and if you are pure int the mobs you dealing with should not even touch you =P. Haven't see you online on sunday and monday =O.
i was online...i guess u werent online
and yeah u can run faster, but the thing is dont u need the extra phys def?

hey where's the protector option? if I must choose from either of them I choose garm because who cares about defence when your a nuker? it's all about the damage plus the mp reduction and speed increase is pretty helpful.

the thing is if u wear garms ur likely to die even more easily.

u need the extra everything defense. I know a person who was lvl 55 with sos 7th degree up to their lvl (weapon, sos +5 52 spear, and protector), who regularly beat lvl 64 nukers in armor when he got the first nuke in. Pure int spears can also 1-hit many int-armor builds. It's really a matter of opinion, but I'm liking garms.
I also like protector though, but I'm sick of armor atm

And this is why you switch to new servers since the economy is beginning.

It depends on how you play the char... If you like hit & run tactics, go garment - Ints aren't made to tank or slug it out with mobs...you have to be aware of your surroundings, unlike the str chars, which can take a couple of good whacks before choosing what they do next. As INT you have to pay more attention to what you're doing & plan out your attacks a little better.
full int mantra: "kill fast, die fast" - always easy to do the last part....just stand still. To do the first part ok, you also have to 'move fast'
If you like to slug it out and use that weapon every once in a while, then go armor, especially against the physical mobs. But it's a deathwish b/c you'll get critted good sooner or later and it'll do you in!
As far as jobs - garm...as long as you've got decent gear, you'll hold your own vs. any INT. The fight vs. str will always come down to one of 3 things: the success of k/d, crit or stun. Be wary of those str archers tho, cause they've got the range advantage, combined with a nice crit...

im sorry but a 55 beating a 64 is complete and utter bullshit.
My nuker at 60 cant beat a 64 nuker... and my 60+4 full blue sword is a lot stronger than a 52+5 sos spear. there is no way a 55 can without full soSUN gear.

ive seen a 42 blader(Cmi ^^) beast a 52 glaiver with SOM Sword and shiled
although thats OT
i have to agree with with the post above
the 64 has a much higher attack power and would kill the other person in 2 shots unless the other user had full sosun gear

I strongly disagree. I can tank any lvl 80 glaive for a long time. Till he either starts critting or we both give up. X-Large pots ruined pvp so bad.
Um bladers can't kill me, not 1 int on the server can kill me [ + the 3 sosun spear / sworders haha ] Umm bowers lol there's not 1 Pure str 70+ bower on Olympus. The hyb bowers are nothing on Olympus, that's bout it really. lol.
I'll make a compilation later if anyone is interested.

Ahh my mind aint clever enough to understand what you wrote or it's too late.
Anyways yeah we have like 5 70+ bowers. They really pose no threat what so ever, most are int hyb in garms. Yeah.......
