This how vigilantes operate on pacific these days.

Doing the Demon Quest at lvl 25.
Grinding away mindful of others and there targets and wham out the blue a lvl 32 + attacks me while i'm hitting a demon horse and runs away.

Having survival in my mind finished horse off and turned around. Gone for the hills he was.

4 horses later same thing, 1 hit and gone, tried to catch him but he was gone couldn't get his name or anything.

This went on for another 3 times. In the end i gave up and logged off.

Why did he do this, because the forums say this proves if your a bot or not.

Another constant pain in the rear.

People PMing you. You stop and PM them back. Do you get a response no. And guess what?
The kill that you should have had gets taken by someone else and they get the drop from it.

Go the vigilantes. Dorks.
Your becomming as bad as the Botters

I play this game for enjoyment, if i chose to grind get lost, and play your childish games on another server.

Hello all, i quite often grind with chat box closed, music on and just gettin on with it. I do this cos i dont want to be bothered and usually im looking for any excuse not to grind (like helping trades, pvp'ing the guild newbies etc... :p)

Im just concerned now that if other players PM me, maybe thinking im botting or even the event that a GM PM's me and gets no reply cos the box is shut...does that give them a good enough reason to judge that im botting cos i didnt see their message??

im 100% sure u bot

True.. Even if you were training in F12 mode or training with chat closed you would still notice a GM...

what.....even with all this talk about stealth GM's, GM's using normal accounts.....everyone just seems to think its good enough if u dont get a reply to accuse someone of botting. Yeh i see pm's from time to time but i think to myself, what the hell do i have to prove to this 'hero' bot finder. i asked a general question, a valid one at that fact and some noobstick that thinks theyre the be all and end all of SRO weighs in and gets all 'omgz bot!!!! mummy mummy!!! botbot!!!'

ffs. please.

You usually will see the GM.

And welshkorn, he could quite possibly not even be botting, and just have his windows minimized. accusing with no evidence remains wrong.

Remind me where I said HE IS botting?

great, i knew some idiot would accuse me of botting. it was a genuine question and actually something i spoke about with my guild. sooo many losers in these forums.

Yes I agree, it was a genuine question. I can see how someone in-game would think you're botting if they PM you and you don't respond (because your PMs are off). Assuming someone does PM you, you don't respond, they report you for "botting" and a GM actually DOES get around to contacting you... I believe the GM would actually be standing right in front of you to talk to you. Their text should come up as pink text either over their head, or up top like a server notice. One or the other. So even if you have your chat window off, you should still see the message from the GM, and see the GM himself. At that point, turn chat on and respond.

I don't think you have to worry about getting banned because of this. Only thing you'd have to worry about is possibly getting reported, but you should at least get contacted by a GM before any ban actually happens.

detecting a bot is more in how that bot moves and acts than in whether or nt they respond to chat. many members of my guild and union prefer to use our vent to communicate and don't even touch the chat unless they need to. if you wanna know who is botting, watch how they move and target mobs.

locked before this gets any more heated.
