Good idea to grind the points off in a secluded area like others have suggested. I think it beats sitting in town or letting people kill you outside the gate. You lose too much experience that way.
The original poster's story kind of reminds me of a situation I was in one time. Way back when I was about lvl 15, I was at the tigers. These two kids kept arguing back and forth in all chat about something stupid for the longest time during my grind. I ignored them for a while, and just thought their argument was silly. Eventually I simply said "children behave" and one of them PM spammed me asking where I was, saying he was going to "kick my a$$!!11!1!!OMG".....
He found me and attacked me, so I killed him. Fairly easily actually. He went to town and PMed me asking where I was because he wanted to kill me again... he's the one that died. Too bad he never found me.
