Only thing that needs to be removed is everyone who bitches about how sro is now. You're playing the fucking game are you not ? Deal with it.

If you want the 60 cap back oh soooooo bad, go learn to make a private server, and come back in a year with the results.

EDIT: who/how mixed up ac....

Go play Gunz Online then. All MMORPG are about level, equipment and builds. Gunz is all about skill, which sounds like what you are asking for. Any opinions of any MMORPG player should be the same as mine since your complaint fails. I am not flamming nor am I arguing I am telling the obvious.

Plus if you don't euro go play china, if you don't like botters go to JM office and be their programmer, if you don't like CCF be the feds and catch these guys.

blunt honesty FTW!!

Couldn't be assed on reading the complete post, but the 60 cap was definitely the best.

Sure, now there are new things that I also like, but the whole community was just way better back during the 60 cap days.

Forgot to mention that.

One of the reasons why people post 60 Cap really have no say in what Silkroad was and should be was the community.

Flame wars, about rivalries. Choosing sides. The forums were extremely active, Tavern, Oasis, and there was actually another forum that died. All three existed before this one and were extremely active. This one came and is excellent. But only this one exists now, Tavern went to trash.

IRC was great also. Sign on Quakenet and you could find so many different players from different servers on and not many idling, active users.

The community then was just 100% better. Forums were filled with planning server events, huge discussions of builds. There was a hybrid discussion lead by addict3d and midgarda from dEranged of Xian that lasted over 20 pages I think.

Now its just bullsh*t threads about bots and gold buyers. People discussing who is the strongest on the server who ends up just some Full SoSun user.

Then strongest player discussions were actually interesting. SOS was few. SP Farming was extremely difficult. So someone who was fully farmed was pretty much unheard of. Even when 70 Cap arrived, only 2 players on all of Aege was fully farmed, Fujishiro of DreamZ and Kadavir of BrosInArms. The duels between Browntyger and Poltergeist and discussions of builds were good also. Browntyger despite being less farmed still ended up winning against Poltergeist who was apparently a SP Whore, lightning glaive user.

Instead of focusing on bullsh*t updates like wings, Euro, or even Arabic, the focus needs to be improve the community. Bring back good gaming environment. Take steps, be creative, to get rid of gold buying and bots. Fix Immunity.

And of course, instead of Euro, be awsome if they actually worked on Castle Seige. Joymax has been promising this for over a year now and there is no hint or sign that there has been any progress on this. I'd rather improved gameplay, castle seige, possible instances or improved dungeons, and of course, more Unique Mobs that do more damage and have more HP. Make it difficult to kill these Uniques again. All this is better than having Euro and Arabic classes.

Exactly when did the 70 cap come out? I joined SRF in August 2006 and started playing SRO a little while before that. Actually I can't remember if I started playing SRO in august 2006 or maybe june 2006. When I joined, I didn't know anything about caps or any of that, so I have no idea if I was here for the 60 cap or not....

I do agree with a lot of what the original poster said, at least with alchemy. Players should have to work hard on their character in order to get alchemy items and the like to improve their equipment. You shouldn't be able to just buy that stuff from other players with gold you bought from a website... Someone did mention that preventing the trade/sale of alchemy items would give botters an advantage because they would be building their alchemy stash 24/7. That is a good point as well, but that doesn't mean alchemy items should be tradeable. There needs to be a way to prevent bots from playing in the first place (different issue).

As for euro, while it may be true that it's Joymax's "failed attempt to turn SRO into WoW", that's just an add-on. You can of course still play your chinese character, which I have done myself. Euro adds variety to the game, new lands to explore, but you don't have to play it.

60 Cap Ended around end of February. It was around the time Joymax officially anounced Silkroad as final, no longer beta.
