@ted It is a shrewd argument you make. No one here is going to argue against personal responsibility. That does not however make your arguement valid. It is at best a straw man and at worst total bs. This was never about personal responsibility for the players. It was about joymax's responsibilities and how they ignored them. In the beginning there were few botters and they were shunned. At that time tiny regular bans would have been enough. But every day that passed with little better than the pointless jokes they labeled as bans as testament to the fact joymax took no responsibility. Why should joe player behave differently? Eventually the cancer that is botting consumed the whole. Now it is lop off the head to spite the body. And we even have apologists now who blame the victims for the outcome. Joymax failed end of story. It never was and never will be the players responsibility to stop botting and any who try are doomed from the start. Without action from the top we are all farked. And if anyone was confused. There will be on action from the top.

Hear Hear!!! Well put ping_lo.

I understand where your post is coming from, i understand what you are saying. With that said i can't agree with the statement you just posted. Maybe im too idealistic about my views on human nature but i believe people should be responsible for their own actions and not result to breaking the law just because everyone else is and getting away with it.

But i guess thats why they call this a forum, isn't it?

ted mate I totally agree with you, in that the people of a community have a large influence in how it turns out and that the onus is upon them to ensure that the community is healthy.
In this case though Joymax have made a mockery of their own rules/laws by not enforcing them, which in turn caused a snowball effect of problems amounting to what we have today.
What's the point in a law if they aren't going to be enforced and there's no one to uphold them? As long as there are no boundaries, people will continue to push for new limits.

well on venus there is no bot issue atm so really the only thing i want out of joymax atm is a job update fix.

have suits switchable again, give me a damn option not to use an alias (im a hunter, durrrr. how am i supposes to protect traders and gain reputation as a hunter if the traders cant pm me....), and give noobs an incentive to do trade runs to jump start the system.

JM isn't the problem, we are.

Someone wanted gold+P-lvl in SRO; A gold-selling company started to farm gold on SRO to sell to him; more people wanted gold; more bots=Full servers.

JM made a great, free game, the community ruined it. :banghead:
