How come christians can have jesus on a cross in paintings, on walls, in windows, and practically everywhere you look. But when it's depicted in a more correct?(obviously not this picture per reading various posts) or realistic way we get flame fests.

Didn't someone started a topic like this a while back, demanding Joymax to change it?

I wouldn't know what JM tries to say by placing those things in Roc Mountain, it would have more sense somewhere around Euro territory. -.- wrote: apparently mocking jesus is fine by the koreans It doesn't look like mocking to me, then again i don't know how JM's people think.

I'm a Christian and must agree: it is SACRILEGE. The very idea of a character named "Chesticles" hanging around with "MegRaien". Sheesh. Inconceivable. As far as comments such as: Binning wrote: It's not Jesus Christ because Jesus was NAILED to the cross, those corpses are tied to the cross. Like another guy said, Romans would crucify people all the time, it doesn't mean they did it to represent Jesus. It's quite a cool wee site though =) That's like seeing the tree and not the forest, isn't it? His body was not left on the Tree / Cross / Whatever ...So it doesn't matter if they were 10-Penny nails or Galvanized. I do appreciate the pic though. Humor is a good think. (no offense Mr.Chesticles, love yer name)Since the topic is "Sacrilege" and not necessarily pointed at anyone, maybe it's ok to give a couple of my fav Nearing Zero cartoons ... no extra charge: Strange to me how sibling rivalries can last so long. Abraham had 8 sons, not just two. /shrug * who knows who we are anymore? And they talk about the Hatfields and McCoys... ~Granps P.S. I love Cheeses

i guess he just lost the argument. it's easier to win the audience over than it is to change ur opponent's opinion, as said by some nub in some movie.

To me, "flame fest" is the same as launching a personal attack. Instead of my expressing my opinion and welcoming the opinions of others... And when it then degrades into me wrote: "I'm a sh1t head" "No, I'm not!" "Yes, I am, I seriously am!!!"
"How can you say that, you're me, you poopy person..." well... You get the idea. I really wasn't offended by me when I called me that. I me. I'll immediately remove this comment if it offended anybody else, though. ~Granps DISCLAIMER: I did read the other thread and the above was in no way a parody my goof here is only that, nothing more

Actually crucifixions weren't done with nails but ropes, to last longer, same with the foot stands. They would eventually die of dehydration
Its simbolic and I find it kind of interesting that you can imagine the real silk route and connect it with real life locations

What does the phrase " The salt of the earth" mean? To those of us who are people of faith, take a moment, and consider: Was there a reason for the Lamb of God to not resist as he was led to slaughter? If we then are to follow Him, and if He did not defend, what then? How is it that we who follow (or try to follow in my case) don't?
One of the main precepts of my religion (most religions, actually) is to 'deny self'. Sure, my blood can boil. I like playing SRO just so that I can kill stuff in a socially acceptable way. Most of my youth was spent venting RAGE, but it was because I was a punk, not for religion.
Are we not commanded to abide within peace? I personally trust that my feet will be kept on that path. It is not what is inside a man that defiles him but what comes out of him. Change of subject... personal history:- Any female in my family is eligible to join the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) through both sides of my family because both my mother and my father had ancestors who were 'here' prior to 1776. None of the females have joined (to my knowledge). The D.A.R. strikes me as elitist (no offense) and a function of a class society, but the fact that they are eligible remains.
- I'm not unusual in this. Many, many people in the US have ancestors who have been here long enough to be able to say 'their' blood has been shed for this country. So then, if the blood of my family (our families) has been shed so that we could have a community that stands for free speech & expression of personal opinion, why do we stand away from the purpose of that shed blood?
It saddens me when I am confronted with images of "The Ugly American" but sometimes I am left with no honest, forthright reply. I, for one, will not stand down from the blood shed on this soil and say, " You CAN'T say that!" The Preacher wrote: But there was greater blood shed for greater purpose than that. Are we not commanded to remove ourselves from 'doubtful disputations' (senseless arguments)? I say this in kindness, without malice, by way of exhortation.
Again, and for those who appreciate metaphor, what is the purpose of 'salt' ?
To those who are called 'the salt of the earth', what shall happen if we lose our 'saltiness'? Let it not be so. Let it not be so. If it is difficult for the green twig to pass through the fire, how much more so shall it be for the dry?
Ours is called 'a walk of faith'. It is a journey. We all start in darkness and walk toward the light. There is no battle, no strife needed, to overcome darkness. If we turn back to our old ways it becomes obvious that we did not love the light but wanted to go back to our secret evils. Walk in peace where you can. To Verfo: I do appreciate these topics, not sure 'where I was' during your last post. I think my presence on this forum was involved with discussion about "Global Warming", "Economics" and attempting (still am) to learn Gimp and Photoshop to make sigs. It's really strange to me to feel welcome in any community and even more strange when I am allowed to express religious views without extreme mocking. I do appreciate this forum very much. Let's strive to keep it as it is (or improve it as we can), yes? ~Gramps

See, this thread turned out the way i wanted it too. Although i dont have much to say on the matter this thread turned into an informed debate about Political/Religious Correctness in games. Oh and btw: MegRaien just happend to be afk on the hill i just ran up the steps and he was there. I dont even know the guy/girl. Dunno why s/he'd wanna hang out in a bloody mess with three dead guys. lol Thanks for keeping this thread reasonably free from retardisms and such Please continue ^^
