I fail to see how a parallel cannot be made between the way a person plays the game and how they are defined as a person. If you feel it necessary to cheat in a free video game, I feel sorry for you. I cannot think of one legitimate excuse requiring someone to bot. If botters are such great and loving people, why do they feel the need to cheat and ruin the gameplay for others? I'm sick of all you people sticking up for them "because they are people too." Everyone seems to try to find a loophole that justifies botting, just because they have a friend that bots or whatever the situation is.

Technically they don't ruin the game play for anyone. However, they ruin the game for others. Different story.

That's just it...it's a free game. If you take someone's actions in game seriously, then you are pathetic. If someone tells you to go die in game, do you take it to heart and get butt hurt about it? No. Why? It's a game. It's a virtual world, virtual characters.
Obviously mindsets are going to differ. Yours is that actions in game = actions in life. Me, I know people personally in real life who bot. I don't think of them any different because of it. They are my friends. Why am I cool with them botting? Because I realize that Silkroad is just a game. If you take the game seriously, obviously it's going to effect you personally. I personally think that's just sad.

It's not so much that I take the game so seriously that it affects me personally. I honestly have become so aloof from the game that whenever I open my client there is a new update. I'm far too busy worrying about things than how botters affect my life. If it is truly just a game, then why are they so compelled to cheat through it? My problem is the fact that they cannot show an ounce of integrity. I guess I just don't understand the cheaters' mentality. I'd like to hear a legitimate reason that should justify why cheating/botting is appropriate. That's all I want.

Because it's the nature of humans to take the easiest way possible out of things. Plus they know that there are no repercussions at all to their actions. Joymax's bot bans are a joke. Joymax as a company has allowed the botters their safety and their ability to thrive in this game.
Is it appropriate? No, probably not. Joymax, however, is not enforcing their own rules, thus allowing it to happen.
As for a botter's integrity: that goes back to how we are as humans. Taking the easy way out whenever we can. Abusing a system because there are no consequences to it.

I know what you mean there. I was reluctant to download the new client because it would take up HDD space. In fact...I opened up Silkroad today, let it update...tried to log on once, then closed it. Probably will stay closed until some time next week.

I understand how you're trying to explain this, but that is why botting doesn't make sense. Are legits not human? Do we suddenly morph into alien beings when we log into Silkroad because we don't look for the easy way out? Having integrity is also a part of being humans. I will be the first to say that I have an uncountable number of character flaws that plague me everyday. I will stay ignorant when it comes to botting, just the way it was meant to be.

No no, legits are humans who choose to play the game it was meant to be played. More power to anyone who can hit 100 by hand. They certainly have my respect more than any botter.
I quit playing myself because friends stopped. 84 legit while all my friends botted to cap, then all quit when 100 cap came out. Damn them.
I agree that having integrity is a part of being human. It's the more noble side, obviously, than taking the easy way out and going AFK all day.
I too have certain character flaws which I live with day by day. I'll admit that. You sir have my respect for being able to admit that, and for being able to stay legit in such a corrupt game. Kudos sir, kudos.

Hi, Talking about a wolf bug...matter of turning into a murderer...i´m in rage and completely disapointed about how can i be a victim after 6 months of hard work reaching lvl70 to get in this PK state out of the blue, being always a legedit 3 days ago i went alone for the cave´s moobs ending a quest that would got me to lvl 70. I did, but for a few minutes. By the time i toke to free up the inventory i was striked by a cha with a naked companion and drop dead on the floor...as quick it came the window giving the option to get res or back to town, i had the chance to see that the companion atacked my wolf and in response the wolf striked it back...i got in town, to late for the wolf, but the brand new picture came out like this. Red name all over me, HP potions droping wild each 2 sec, 300 Skills gone, 3% Exp lost and a new icon on the screen "Daily PK 4/15 (1 level) as a murderer I never atacked anyone and if i do it i use a cape aguenst other capes. I hate guilds couse the few one´s i did got in, never had help, an hand for whatever, beside being me the one to party and lvlup others, lossing time, gold, you name it, i got bored of it. And got bored of taxi for 2mil an hour and running away from us after 14 min. Whos giving me back the looses and premium now? For this crap about being murderer victim with money envolved, also, its like truly watching Joymax asking 50 dollars for silk and stoling it back from my bocket at my face without giving me an option to decide what to do with my money. Around all servers and users, how many millions are they stoling like this in the face off all Untill discover about how to remove the PK, i end up with lvl69 90% Exp. Prohibited by Joymax just as Bot use is Prohibited! Two wrongs do not make a right!!! I still feel that SRF should hold those who admit to using this exploit and knowing it is prohibited just as guilty as those who use bots and with that they should be treated as the same!
