The funny thing is, everybody is complaining about bots/goldbots/spammers/etc., how long it takes to get in, Joymax Employee's salaries for not doing shit, servers crashing etc. Yet they still play. Its like eating a Big Mac daily and complaining about how many calories it gives. If its SOOOO bad, why do you still play?
Yeah to conclude what every other person that posted on this thread, one way or another Joymax needs to get a certain amount of money a month for costs for running the business and costs. But I could add that Joymax can ease off at making people buy silk. It's not like they are desperate or in debt. I mean ~550.000 Dollars is plenty for costs and salary for the employees. Not to mention that they get that amount in just a month.
So overall, all Joymax (in this case) needs to do is simply ease off on making people buy silk. But they aren't in a good start with this Magic Cock Cards.

Ok, maybe most of you know this, but i think some younger of you don't. The reason i made this tread to make people aware not to buy silk of those *****ckers.
We got 37 servers right? and lets say 3000 average users per server. 37 x 3000= 111.000 that's amount of average users per server. 111.000 users x 50 dollars = 5.550.000 dollars minimal per month, yeah that is too much for a crappy company like Joymax, i think they don't deserve even the quarter of this amount with their service and support.
sorry if i made this thread wrong section.
cut that number in half due to gold bots. then cut the new number in half for non silk buyers.
After that, add what silkbuyers spent since the pop update and it adds a couple more.

Over 9000 calories would be an intelligent estimation would it not?

According to about.com, a Big Mac Cheeseburger has 704 calories. 393 of those calories are from fat.
On the other hand, US Military MREs (Meals Ready-To-Eat) have 1,250 calories. More info here: http://www.mreinfo.com/civilian/mre/civilian-mres.html (scroll toward the bottom for calorie count. According to the site, Civilian MREs are close in calorie count as well.

Sorry, but if you in a situation in the military where you have to eat MREs to survive, then you're going to need all the calories you can get just to functio. Makes sense that they have 1,250 calories.
McDonalds, on the other hand, is just fatty, gross food.

True, the MRE calorie count isn't too bad. They're meant to serve as 3 meals a day, or 3,750 calories per day. That's not too bad considering all the things the Soldiers go through. I'm not in the Military, but I've had a few MREs. They're not bad at all. It's cool having a hot meal without having to start a campfire or use appliances.
On Topic: I don't know about the accuracy of this website (it's at least as accurate as the posts above me...) but according to this website, Joymax revenue is 3,200 million won (capital 1,153 million won), or approximately 2.4 million USD. I assume this is per year, so that makes 200,000 USD per month.
That's for the company itself, which would include revenue from all of their games and services, not just SRO. That doesn't seem nearly as bad as some people's claims above.

Oh god the MREs I had were disgusting. Hot sauce is the secret ingredient to everything.
On Topic: I don't doubt they make a lot, but like someone said, some of it goes to maintaining 30+ servers, Item Mall, updates, staff(whatever staff there is), and all that shit.

I thought most of the people in here played this shit of a game called Silkroad long enough to realize this already. Silkroad Online portrays itself to be a F2P game, hence all that money you spent on getting Silk for whatever reason only entitles you to whatever items that is purchasable through the Item Mall. None of the money spent on Silkroad from the players are actually going to the devs so you can kiss your customer service or even updates goodbye.
In case you haven't noticed, WoW players pay $15 every month and they don't get Alchemy Stones or Premium Tickets, those money is used to maintain and develop the game. So enough QQ on how Joymax isn't giving a damn to you so called customers because it's a F2P game, you don't pay for them give a damn, but simply for in game benefits.

Well unless you actually work for Joymax, preferably in management, you can't really say where the revenue from silk sales goes. I would imagine all revenue they get, including silk sales, license sales to other SRO versions, advertising revenue, etc, etc, gets all pooled together and applied towards various business costs like servers, electricity, plumbing, building maintenance, advertising, employee salaries, ISP costs... Yes, some of that money, whether silk money or something else, would go to pay the developers' salaries. They don't work for free.
True, SRO is advertised as a free to play game, but they have to make money somewhere or they'd go out of business. Linux is free, open source, but Red Hat makes money selling services, support, and licensing the "Red Hat" name and Shadowman logos while providing the OS itself to you for free.
You say silk buyers aren't paying for customer support, only for item mall items, but when Joymax first opened up their email support service, it was open to premium users only. Sounds to me like silk is going to pay for some of that support...

Hosting a free game doesn't give you an excuse not to do anything.

So they do game updates like 100 cap and such, but there is no player support at all. I dont even know why there is an email service, when they can just read the forum for questions and game suggestions. They should provide player support and keep their players happy and servers clean of goldbots. I think the game needs new management...one that is not so greedy. Hell, I think I would rather pay $5 a month to have goldbots banned so at least I could log in to play.

It was open to Premium Users only for testing purposes.

What about the other QQers in this thread?
Edit: So I read the first post in this thread again. You're telling everybody not to buy silk because their service is shit.

Ultimately if you actually hate their service so much, WHY DO YOU PLAY?
First off, they have in-game moderators, secondly they put in a trade thingy so you cant just trade 100m for nothing. So say if you put in 100m, they would have to put in an item worth 100m. Dont say anything about crippling the econmy coz there is no econemy everyone just bots

that system could be anoying but i think that would help allot against frauds

It isn't that it doesn't give them an excuse not to do anything. They do, do things and everyone complains. They bring out the Lottery system; everyone complains. They bring out 10D, and it isn't what everyone wanted. They once, changed the sun drop rate, everyone was happy for a day, then started complaining.

Revenue from Silk sales goes to paying employee salaries, bills, whatever cost there is to keep the game up and running, that is trivial knowledge and I am well aware of it, if not what's keeping the game up, nothing is free in this world, I get your point, yes.
My point is that Silkroad advertises itself to be a F2P game, which means just as it says, you are free to play the game. By then, you should know that the service you'll be getting compared to a P2P game is gonna be insignificant. Because from the company point of view, all players play the game for free, should they purchase Silk or not, because like I said the money spent on Silk clearly states that the money you spent only entitles you to mere in game benefits.
Therefore, even if you spend $1000 on silk it doesn't give you the slightest bit of right to decide the way or the company should work, meaning the company should and will act to its own interest, which is to obtain highest possible revenue. It is obvious that there are a lot can be done to attract more players to Silkroad but players are not the one to decide if the investment promises good return or not, or even if they have enough capital to do such a thing, but again that's another story. Company will not take money out of their own pockets just so you can have a good time, it's all about the money and they will make damn sure that they are milking this game properly.
I know indirectly Silk buyers are supporting the whole game and company but then again, it is clearly written what you will obtain should you spend $20 on the Item Mall. Just because the game says you're a premium user, those two words does not have the same definition in Silkroad as in dictionaries, and the benefits from being a premium user is clearly defined in the Item Mall, should it be more XP rate, buffs etc. I'm pretty sure that stuff like, "Right to adequate customer support" or "Right to more in game contents" isn't mentioned next to the Premium Ticket right?
Just because you're paying them through buying Silk, it doesn't entitle you any right to decide how the company operates, because it is obvious that you are buying Silk to in game benefits for yourself, not customer service or updates and once again it is clearly mentioned what you are entitled to should you send money to their Paypal account. And because of this, Joymax doesn't have to care about your opinion on how should the company operate. In a way, those Silk items looks more expensive now doesn't it? Part you of that says "Ah, it's ok to spend $50 on Joymax this month because they can put this money into good use by bringing us new updates etc." to justify your spending is a lie, because Joymax will keep the money for their own and leave you guys to enjoy minor yearly patches.
Anyhow, the reason a game is F2P is because the company hosting it is not confident people will pay just to pay it, which is why Item Mall is up, with it they can gather cash to run the game and company from players by giving them in game benefits over others who can't or will not fford them. By having tagged Silkroad as F2P, players, should they pay Joymax or not, have zero right to keep their customer happy. Play or GTFO, that's Joymax's iron law and answer to your QQs.
They will do just enough to maintain the equilibrium, should they notice that it's the time of the year where player expects a major patch, they pour in a new update, or some crappy customer service support to keep people playing the game, so they would spend on Silk again. You guys should be expecting a cap rise and new map every year right? If it doesn't happen, chance are you would quit the game right? Joymax knows that all so well, and will do minimal to keep you guys logging in. Rinse and repeat, and there you have it, it's just another endless cycle.
Did you think that the endless bickering on their official forums or the number of petitions sent to their doorstep is what brought you guys new level caps, bot bans and customer service? The company simply implemented them for their own interest, which is to keep players playing this game and spending on Silk. Why'd you think that they can have avatar suits updates so much more frequently instead of major patches? It's about all the $, mon. They want you to spend more on this game since the money you spent on Joymax gives you zero right as a customer since they tagged Silkroad to be F2P. Yup, it's unfair, welcome to the real world.
Those that are QQing about how shitty Silkroad is are very very very likely (99.9% certain) to be already spending on Silk right? So, if there's a big group of people contributing the company's revenue even if the game is in a shit state, then why should the company want to spend more to satisfy their players? Chance are they think that you guys won't spend more on the game even if the state of it improves so that's why it's as it is now. Actually, I think should the game has better services or features, people who are willing to pay Silk to have that extra edge will be less, since that "edge" will be less now that there's better features for free. For example, you have these Reverse Return Scrolls to get you to your grind place in a snap. On the other hand, you have crappy horses to run that takes forever, if they introduce a faster horse, won't the people spending on these scrolls be lessen? They probably realized it too late, if not you guys will be running on feet to Taklamakan or wherever lal.

It's one thing to complain about bots overrunning the servers, but to complain about new features they put into the game? If you don't like the features, don't use them. If those features make your overall gaming experience unenjoyable, go find another game. Crying about those features isn't going to change anything.
