Everyone was given a heavy hybrid int, so bow wasn't the best way to go. One build seemed to totally annihilate everything else and i'm gonna keep it a secret until after GNGWC ^^ It's more fun that way.

Someone has to DEFINITELY take videos once he makes it to Korea in the Main Round / LAN Pre-Finals.

Still gratz to the guy with the stupid name ;)

P.S.: I love how Gargamel gets mad when the other guy attacks early :D

Not for the prelims. The rules for the prelims and the main round/finals were different last year as well.

Guess I'll be seeing a few people in LA in a couple weeks :D

Man, I have a feeling I would have raped everyone if I was a contestant....
Using a bow is actually a good idea since they are a good hybrid build and if your opponent only has 7k hp, it's even better. I don't know why the s/s in that video never nuked though, I find that a dumb move.

My build would have been
80 Light - Main Nuke, Lion shout, speed, extra m.dmg, only a nooby nuker will choose 60 light.
80 Cold - Ice shield, ice castle, more p.def. Only noobs will go 60 ice with only 7k hp and a hybrid build in a competition with npc gear.
80 Bicheon - for the KD and p.damage, and also the p. def
60 Fire - I think more m def is better than extra 600hp from hakusal passives, the wall only lasts one or two hits anyway.
I might have bought 1 of each set to cover all bases, if that was allowed, and switched armor types based on the opponent's choice of attacks, but probably mainly protector since everyone is hybrid.

If any build dominated, it was obviously this one.

And my attack pattern would have been.
-> Phantom in
-> ice imbue
-> the impotent causing chain
-> the disease causing chain
-> Lightning Imbue
->Lightning nuke
-> Lion shout
-> the other lion shout
-> KD
-> stabs or repeat chains if the first time didn't add the effects or if it did, repeat from lightning nuke.

Why? Well, simple, with npc gear and 7k hp, you have to go nuker to win or you can try to get a crit with those 5 crit weapons. I doubt the archer will survive in finals.
Bicheon because that shield REALLY helps with low hp and even though your nukes are weaker, with disease on the target it's automatic win.
Lightning because you just have to use the lion shout, you can sometimes make the shout hit at the same time the nuke hits, so it adds 1/3 of the nuke power right away.

I bet the winner will have the build I just explained or if not the exact build, something similar.

I'm staying at my apartment XD

10-20 minute drive to the place iirc.

Just be sure to make sure you stay in a decent neighborhood.

The second bolded statement proves the first wrong :P

It was 1v1 PvP for the prelims.

The Main Round and Finals are totally different from the prelims (Uniques, SOSuns, PvP, mobs, all rolled into one).

That makes no sense. Even if the opponent wears garments nuking is the way to go after doing the chains to debuff. Why would me being confident in my ability contradict not nuking as being a dumb move?

Because the fastest way to die as int in PvP is to stand there and nuke while letting your opponent beat the shit out of you.

As opposed to standing there and doing chains while your opponent beats the shit out of you? I never said nuke all the time, I just said nuke, he never nuked even once, and if you noticed the archer's hp never dipped below 4k because of it. If you read my attack pattern you should have noticed I didn't have anything like 2 nukes in a row, and that's for a reason. If I ever do more than 1 nuke it's probably nuke, shout, nuke, shout, for the sake of high DPS.

Also, I forgot to comment on this:
Quote:

As long as the equips are the same for every player, it does not matter at all since the damage and defense from seal items will cancel each other out in the end.

Keep in mind torin that at the same time, you are having a weakened mag defense compared to everyone else, having only 60 fire, and if they are in garments with full fire all they really gotta do is KD you and nuke away. Oh and... keep in mind also that they can INTERRUPT your nukes, or block them with a fire wall, not just sit there, take the damage, and nuke back...
Oh and torin, you do realize you're arguing with the (arguably) best player in the round. Lol.

Did I say to do chains?

BTW, do you even know who you're arguing with about how to play in GNGWC?

Well, I made a retarded mistake and lost the second match of my best of 3 after raping quick in the first match. Luckily I didn't make the same mistake twice :)

My question is, do you have to keep the character and it's build that you made in the pre rounds? If so, then it's a bit complicated.

IF NOT, i say people go for pure str bow and hope for a bow drop with high crit. What build of bow? Depends on your liking.

Main round and finals you get to set your str/int, unlike the prelims.

So yea, I say go for pure str bow or Hybrid Str bow. It's an obvious choice. Look at my server Sparta, nearly all pure str lvl 80 characters who don't have sun are switching to Bow. Mainly Bladers :(

I argue because I can. Are you going to tell me that just because I am not in the GNGWC I can't actually have a good strategy? What does it matter who he is, as long as my points are valid he can't really refute them.

I already covered the nuke thing. If you notice after I've nuked I said I will KD, and that's for a reason. Nukes can be interrupted by 1 skill from each weapon, you can always time a nuke right after that attack. And you can firewall all you want, it stops working after the first hit.

Garment or not, I am using the chain effects to bring down his defenses, as well as mixing it up with KD and stabs.

Would you rather go 60 light as a nuker and have your best chance of doing quick damage ruined? Or would you prefer to go 60 cold and lose 10% damage absorption and trade it off for 20 more m.def? Maybe you will rather limit your physical damage and lose the disease and impotent debuffs instead? It's 60 fire because it is the least useful force and lightning imbue is only 2% less powerful.

I don't doubt that he is a great player, that doesn't mean I can't argue with him because of it. In fact, he obviously enjoys a little entertainment otherwise he wouldn't answer.

I'm saying your points aren't as valid as you seem to think with my obvious reason for saying so being that my personal experience with GNGWC has proven otherwise. I'm not going to go into specifics about what build I'd use because I already know my plan for the Main Round and don't want anybody specifically trying to make a build catered towards defeating me.

For 1v1 PvP however, as a sword/shield nuker, you're an idiot if you nuke. Low HP+very damage imbue means you should be preventing as much damage on you as possible while dishing out a lot to your opponent and nuking doesn't accomplish either tbh.
