Or can you only farm gold and sp. In my other mmorpg game I was playing you could farm potatoes and after a week or so you could make millions. Is this possible in SRO or just that game? (potato drops or anything like it)

Brief overview of farming potatoes (Note = Must be level 20 or higher, most be a TRADER job)
To start Farming potatoes you will need to find a potato patch. There are different types of potato patches around the world where you can grow different resources. Their locations are north east of the Donwhang area, and South west of Samarkand. When you arrive at a patch for the first time it will be overgrown with weeds. You will need to use a rake on the patch to remove the weeds. Then you'll treat the soil with compost (from farmer or you can make your own). Then use a seed on the farming patch, while having a potato seed in your inventory, to plant it. Use a watering can on the new plant so it will start growing (not needed if you pay a nearby farmer to take care of your plants). But do note that your plants can get diseased and die if left alone. If your plant gets diseased you will have to do a chinese rain dance (Flowers can also protect your crops). You can also cast the harmony circle skill (Chinese force line) to prevent them from being diseased.
Be sure to protect your patch from theives, they can come in and steal it all. Buy a chipmunk from the item mall, and drop it next to your patch. The chipmunk will bite any thieves that come near. This bite has a 20% fatality rate, so be sure to buy a few chipmunks. If your chipmunk dies, you will need to use a grass of life, so be careful. Grass of life can be bought at the stable for 50k. To keep the chipmunks from eating your potatoes yourself, you will also need to buy a WHITE wolf. Do not try using a grey wolf, for they eat meat and will end up eating your chipmunks...you don't want that. The white ones are vegetarians, but they only eat raspberries. I will explain where to find these later on.
If you want to make millions off your potato farm, you will need to crump your area. How do you crump your area, one might ask? Well, it is difficult when you first start, but you will get the hang of it. There is a glitch in the game where you can have unlimited potato seeds. As soon as you plant your seed, hit the N key to sit down at the same time. It will make a weird animation, and your potato seed will be glitched. You have now successfully crumped. This will prevent you from having to re-buy seeds, as they get expensive.
NOTE: If you are going to follow this guide, be kind to the native rabbits in the area. It might be fun to tell your wolf to attack them, but think of the wabbits feelings. Most of us enjoy seeing a fuzzy bunny hop by while crumping or guarding our patch. As always, help keep the pet population low. Have your wolf spayed or neutered. Bob Barker, OUT!

srsly the mods should change the name of "General Discussion" to "lets see how much of a jerk can you be to new comers that don't know anything about the game"
@topic starter
you can only farm sp by having 9 levels gap between your level & the level of your highest mastery tree .

Well you won't be able to farm potatoes at a high rate of speed or anything like farming SP. With SP farming, the higher your character level to mastery gap, the more SP you gain per kill.
If you want to farm potatoes, just kill earth ghosts over and over and over. There's no trick that you can do to gain more potatoes per kill, you just get whatever the earth ghost drops.
