There's one thing that annoys me more than anything with alchemy. Tell me how you can "succeed" in using a stone to have the % reset to 0 or stay on what is already was...?

If my phy attack is +25% and i use a stone and fail the +25% stays the same but if i succeed it will likely stay the same or drop to 0.

how is this a "success" when its actually worse than a fail?

I know the success/fail works on % probability but giving the option for a drop and stick of the % when you succeed is just rediculous.

How many times have you had this happen and thought to yourself. "JEESUS CRIST IF I FAILED THIS STONE I WOULD HAVE BETTER STATS THAN SUCEEDING WITH THE STONE"

A success should mean the stats have "raised" from what they were. JM need to change this.

So it doesnt become to easy to pimp items i would suggest increasing the fail probability. However when it succeeds the stats always rise.

Im sure you all know what i mean when you are doing alchemy and see the bright white light showing it worked wOOHOO to find it erm... hasnt worked... got worse...hmmm yah!!

But yes I know I am talking to deaf ears and nothing will ever be done. Just my little rant :D

It's part of alchemy =\
If you could fuse knowing there's no way the stats will drop you would have 100% everything :banghead:

Where would the fun be in alchemy if when stones only succeeded they only assimilated up?

Because then we would all be walking around with full 100% stats

lets say it goes 22% -> 80% , most people would leave it at that... but if there was no chance it could go down, then people will be added more and more stones untill that stat went to +100%.

I think what bothers me more than the certain attribute your trying to fix fails is when something else you have assimilates.
Like lets say you have the perfect weapon but your attack rating is 22% & you're like hm lets get this a bit higher. First stone you use you see the shiny success thing, so you get all happy & look at your stats to see the attack rating is still 22% but now your crit went from 22 to 4. :banghead:

all stones rest the stat to 0% and then add them, it says it right on the stone/tablet

so look at it this way, its a 2 part series, first it resets it to 0% and then adds a new %, unfortunitly sometimes the new stat is the same or 0%, so yes it it reset its and adds a new stat it is a success, not always the success you want though

success means that the attribute was reset and a random value was chosen

Every item you alchemy on .. only has like 4-5 %'s anyway. I have tinkered with alchemy ever since it was introduced and can safely say if you keep getting 3-4 different %'s .. keep it at the 4th ... for example:

My 85 2H ... put over 400 stones on that and it;s always 0% -> 22% -> 41% -> 61% -> 80% -> 100%

Got 100% one time and ASSIMILATED next god damn stone ;_;.

What I'm trying to say is .. after you got 61% just stop .. as the chances are like 30% / 30% / 20% / 10% / 7% / 3% ( In theory )

If it worked like that, alchemy would be less frustrating and not expensive. :banghead:

I've only had it happen for the good a few times(extremely noticable change) the one I remember the most was a 85 ring had STR 1 on it, I dropped a 30% INT stone on it and got INT 6 and it assimulated the STR from 1-6 also.
