I have noticed as of late that the flaming of joymax by YOU the users continues to increase and increase... I stopped playing and converted to WoW, but since SRO was my first MMORPG 3 years ago i like to come back to the forums to see what is new. What i don't understand is how you guys can think that Joymax will ever do anything to help the game and its legit users. They are making a killing in their item mall. 28 days of super premium here costs 5 dollars more then a 60 day membership for WoW. They wont start mass banning bots and they don't care how much you guys rant and rave. Just quit SRO... take your friends from this game and go play something different together. Just a thought...

People have to learn to just deal with it. JM is making a lot of money just from the bots, and unfortunately, I think it will hurt them more if they banned all the bots. They're in a tough predicament now.

Let's say they ban all bots (gold bots and player bots). Gold bots, no big deal. They don't pay for the game. They don't contribute anything. They just take up space. Now, player bots... Think of how many would not come back. Some would start over clean, but I'm going to guess that a huge majority would quit. Legits are the minority. It sucks, but just look at all the older servers. Venus is probably the only server with a very large portion of legits, but compared to all the servers combined, it's only a small percentage. Player bots do contribute to the game in some way; They buy a lot of silk. So, in a sense, they are paying so we all can play for free.

Instead of banning bots, they need to determine the reason people choose to bot and work out a solution that benefits everyone. Yes, they still need to block all bot programs from working, but don't ban the players.

Here's what I think:

I think they need to take out all SOX items as drops. Instead, maybe make it where you can only win them in events. That way people who bot for SOX items won't have any reason to bot.

They need to make it easier to grind. It's very time consuming, even if you buy tickets. Party play makes the game more fun, but a lot of older servers don't have parties available all the time. Some people are forced to solo grind. If it took 3 months to cap, that would reasonable.

They need to make jobbing the primary source for gold. This is what SRO is all about! Not only would it encourage more people to job and make jobbing more active, but it would eliminate gold bots because they would not make enough gold to sell anymore.

Make an auction house so people don't want to use multiclients to stall anymore. Have it to where someone can give their items to an NPC and he will automatically "stall" the item for you for a small fee for a certain amount of time (like 5 days or something).

Stuff like that would probably help the problem some.

You have some nice ideas but they change the game mechanics way too much, I personally wouldn't mind, I would like to see something new in the game but JM isn't ready for this kind of updates, maybe in some time they come to their senses. They shouldn't even have let the bots take part in this game from the beginning, like 2 years ago. Now, I'm afraid it's a bit to late to get rid of all of them but many legits still enjoy the game, like me

Exactly. I really wished they would have acted when the problem first popped up. We wouldn't have this dilemma today if they would have been strict about it years ago.

And I really think it would be a good idea to continually change things, especially the mechanics. It's kind of like working in retail. You have to keep changing things and adding new items to keep it appealing and to keep your customers satisfied. Keeping it the same not only solves nothing, but it pushes people away from it because it's not longer interesting.

I agree. I'm sure they have money pouring out of their pockets with so many silk buyers. I don't really know what are they doing in JM, bot bans are low, the game gets changed really rare and there is no customer support. They just watch how the players buy silk and they make money. The game is still great but it could be much better and could attract more ppl

Also, most silk-buyers just charge back when they are banned >.>. Your ideas are great, i love the auction house part, its like the grand exchange in RS, and it would also easy up the servers a bit since there would be lesser amounts of stallers. But i think Joymax's thinking is that, if they dont do anything and still get money from silk, why should they bother changing anything at all? >.<

Those that play this game have accepted/aware the following

-No customer support
-Disadvantage from silk-buyers
-Aware of scammers everywhere
-know there will be goldbots everywhere in massive #s
-playerbots huge #s as well.
-not offended my plenty of insults/racism
-game bugs
-Weekly Banned list only has spambots/goldbot/player who has chargeback

if you can deal with the things mention above, or pretend they don't exist, you will have "fun" in SRO.

I installed WOW free trial>notice the cartoon graphics>uninstall

Not really. One of the main reasons as to why SRO is still alive is due to influx of new players who don't know anything about the problems. You can basically look at the dates people signed up on this forum as an indication of that.

Because if you don`t buy silk or not as much as some people do you will remain weaker in most aspects of the game.

New people can`t even login and most new accounts here on SRF are remade accounts or people already creating double accounts incase they get caught botting :banghead: not to forget the few people that actually start this game are influenced by friends and well informed maybe misinformed about this game.

I tried another MMPORG before thats called RF Online. And they had some kind of stones placed all over the map. And if you keep hitting that stone you would get kicked or banned (dont remember). So its a kind of bottrap. I guess the botmakers somehow can work around this problem. But wouldnt it be a good idea to try this? Maybe the stones could have diffrent names/locations each time you log in, so the botmakers cant make a script that ignores the stone so easy?

Some people can't afford to buy things for a game, some are even too young. Joymax didn't make it so you "can" buy silk, they made it so you "have" to or suffer the disadvantages of those that have bought silk. i.e. Avatars with stats etc.

I just wanted to point out that there's a "disadvantage" for a reason. The people who buy silk are the ones paying so you can play for free. They deserve the extra benefits. With any online game you play, people who buy from the item mall will always have better benefits, and that's the way it should be. It shouldn't be, "Well I don't want to pay for the game, but I want all the things silk buyers get!"

exactly, there would be no reason to buy silk to keep the game running if i already got all the kewl stuff.

you know what... if everyone is that upset with joymax then why dont you just stop buying silk?

if there was a massive silk boycott then joymax would have 2 options

1: drasticly change the game to fix the problems that are the reason for the boycott (ie: ban gold bots, add a auction house ect.) but they have to do ALL of the things, not just do a puny bot ban. when i say drasticly change, i mean it.

2: shut down the game entirely...

unfortunatly this is what would probly happen, they would close down the game and come up with another half-assed game that ppl will play for another 5 years, suck their players dry off of premiume items. and hope they dont have to make another one.

the second option i think is why most ppl will never boycott silk purchases.

It's the botters that buy the most silk. PomPomTheIce, SirShaDowCaT etc. And they max out the silk purchase per month. Neither of them nor other well know botters complain.

botters buy silk for the premium, once they get 90 then most of them stop buying it. as well as stop paying for bot each month. im talking massive boycott, like years.

The ones on Xian buy premiums, avatars, everything. Shadow made a character with the name "snatcchin" or something like that JUST to insult me and it had an avatar/premium and pets. It was in a pile of his other characters. He has some capped characters yet still buys every avatar and pet that come out. So botters don't buy just premium.

See, that would make sense. But some people tend to continue to buy a premium so they can log in, the extra stat points... etc.

Boycotting would definitely let JM know we are serious about change, but I think it would hurt them more than benefit us. Besides, there just wouldn't be enough people who would take it seriously. People have been bringing boycotting up for a long time, and it's just not enough to make a dent.

The people keep kidding themselves thinking silkroad will be a good game sooner or later. If you want to see what silkroad is like in the future, check out ghost town ksro.

Silkroad is a great game. You noobs need to stop whining about the poor support of the game, if joymax is so gay, then how did they come up with the game you play end on end?

I'm well assure that botters buy premium items, maybe because they want to get the best out of the game? I mean, it does give an advantage in PvP.

I personally play the game, buy silk and etc, i dont find a problem. Logging into Iris is a blast, 3 tries and i'm in usually, takes about 2-3 mins.
