first off i a little bit sadden that nivlam shut down.

however it IS a good thing. since i play this game about less than 1 year and half ago, 7 of my legit friends who grinded with me for a long time turn into botters cause when they calculated their SP needed, it spits out an huge gigantic number so they all made the decision to go botting.

yes i know it's not nivlam's fault but still it part of the reason why people bot at least from my personal exp.

the game is suppose to be like when u grind u enjoy have relax and have fun when there are sites like nivlam that have the sp table and calculator and people go to calculate their SP they normally get depressed and i dont blame them because i did too but most people dont have self restraint not to bot. people dont realize that of course it will give u a huge ass SP number because this game is an MMORGP game FFS so u are expected to grind your ass off. lol if u cant stand it then go play another game.

anywho i will stop ranting and go back to the conclusion that nivlam being gone is a good thing. besides back then people do manual calculations of SP and all this shit and then nivlam came along and then everyone starts to become dumb at doing manual calc and wants everything at the tip of a click, no wonder peoples iq are dropping. im sure the legit->botter rate will drop too

/end rant

I don't really agree with you. But I'd love to see more legits and less bots anyday.

I think it's more of people being lazy, only wanting PVP and joymax making the sp/exp needed outrageous. I wouldn't really say it's nivlam's fault in the least. Even if it was inaccurate, the requirements to not suck are still way too high.

I don't really think Nivlam made people lazier, it was just easier then doing manual calculations.

Agreed. It's like saying using a calculator is making people lazier. Technological advancements are advancements for a reason. I will miss Nivlam.

technological advancements make people more stupid and couch potato and thats undebatable. today we have a bunch of fat people epidemic and people who alway rely on calculators and cant add two small numbers in their head. theres no doubt people dont learn necessary skill to succedd cuz of "technological advancements"

This might be a phrase taught in introductory courses, but I feel you are ready to learn it "correlation is not causation".

Technological advancements doesn't make people more stupid...it just makes us more efficient...stupidity is not being able to figure out how to use technology to your benefit or purposefully doing things the hard way when you got technology to help you out....technology just encourages us to skip the mundane part of life and give us more time to focus and learn new and interesting things..

OT: Even if Nivlam didn't exist, players would have begun to realize the amount of effort needed to gain enough SP to fully farmed their chars... Lots of them would eventually turned to botting anyways once they started to sense it...Blame Joymax for that..

Plutonium, no offense but I think you should take a look at yourself before you start talking about the IQ of other people.. laziness etc.
I really think you should look into this;

Spoiler!

Anyway.. pulling a blanket over peoples eyes to sway them away from botting is dumb. Eventually they will need to know when to stop farming, imagine you hit cap.. farm 600k SP then close your gap because you thought it'd be more than enough, only to find out you needed 800k. Lots of money wasted on silk there.

I loved nivlam, here's a nice quote that sort of applies..
"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler" -Albert Einstein

This would be my reaction after hitting Lvl 100 and thinking I was fully farmed without the truth about how much SP I truly needed.

"YES! I THINK I'M FINALLY FULLY FARMED TO 100!!!"
*raises masteries all to 100*
"NOOOOOOOO F*CK YOU JM I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH SP TOO GET ALL THE SKILLS I NEED!!!"
*buys reallocation potions or SP ticket or Premium, further sticking it to the man(JM)*
"WOOHOO I GET TO FARM 500K SP WITH A 0 GAP EFFF YEAHHH"

5 years later...
"F*uck yeah guys, I just finished being fully farmed to 100 =]"
Guild members - "WTH? where have you been? we're all already full farmed to 150"

*adds to http://www.fmylife.com*

Nivlam saves us time and money legit or not by showing us the truth about how much it will truly take to farm to the level we want. You may think it turns people into botters, but it's their decision to do so, Nivlam didn't put a gun to their head after using it and say, "hey, we control you now, either you bot or else..."

Thankyou Nivlam.

So not being able to work out the amount of sp you will get with x gap is a good thing? Riiight..

The only reason to play sro is to pvp. Jobbing system is fairly lame (unless, omg, theres player vs player conflict!) and what else is there to do, kill a unique every 6 hours?

The reason i quit is to do those things the money on silk i would end up paying far outweighed the fun i would have pvping.

better to know what you are up against than lvl up with an insufficient gap and regret it later

Plutonium go ahead and write down on a piece of paper the skills you want 0>100 and the SP required per skill and add every single number up without using a calculator, see you in a few hours.

Nivlam is gone doesn't change the fact that you still need a huge amount of SP.

There are other sites with the same tools. Nivlam was just more comfortable since you had all in one place. If you think botting will end with Nivlam you're kinda wrong...

But you did said it was part of the reason, so you were happy and clearly stated nivlam = makes people bot.

And what TheRealAnswer1 said is the best example on how calculators are usefull.

That's why I quit sro, I'd rather quit and be legit then just be what ruined the game, Farking bots.

sometimes, but as a noob i would've wanted to know the whole sp business before messing everything up.

plus nivlam is one of the things that showed the real side of the game, namely massive need of sp points breaking progress.

Find new friends :P

OT: It's not Nivlam who made people lazy but the younger generation. We nowadays look for things to be as automated as possible, with less effort and more results. Botting is just that. The solution? Play strategy games. Can't replace the good ol' brain with an AI just yet :)

yeah too bad people cant bot in a game like starcraft that requires a brain to play...

in game like sro even a n00b can write a 10 line script that can spam a key repeatedly :( but if u going to bot in sro then y dont u find another game u no what i mean? sure its not the funnest thing to do but if u cant handle it then why still play juist make no sense at all
