Ok, maybe most of you know this, but i think some younger of you don't.
The reason i made this tread to make people aware not to buy silk of those *****ckers.

We got 37 servers right? and lets say 3000 average users per server.
37 x 3000= 111.000 that's amount of average users per server.
111.000 users x 50 dollars = 5.550.000 dollars minimal per month,
yeah that is too much for a crappy company like Joymax, i think they don't deserve even the quarter of this amount with their service and support.

sorry if i made this thread wrong section.

first of all, NOT everyone buys 50$ silk a month
second of all, there is absolutely no way, that 3000 people buy silk each month on each server, i would give max 500.

There is barely 500 real players per server, and maybe 3/4 of them buy silk.

lets be honest.... i doubt 3000 people pay 50 dollars a month.

500 sounds like a very plausiable number.

111,000x 500

555,000... still a ton of money.

If people want to spend money on Silkroad, let them. If you think it is a waste of money, then dont spend it. Simple as that?

No, i must agree that they are earning way too much money for the effort thay are actually putting into iSro. But they've got more games to run, with a fairly small crew as i've understand from this forum.
But no real need for this topic imo. And i think we've had more of these, some time ago.

silkroad online's infrastructure is very fragile than most people believe it to be. The only reason why they aren't at theirs knees right now to their customers is because we are enslaved with their greed techniques in this game. The moment we organize, make certain weeks of silk strikes, and I mean strikes that are REAL and no one actually buys any at all for that week at the same time, OF COURSE THEY WILL NOTICE.

So my suggestion is:

1. Make a website..
(example: http://www.dontbuysilk.com)
2. Make reasons why people shouldn't buy silk and definitely try to include the many greed techinques they employ in this game.
3. Try to get a type of slogan or saying, so that it goes along good with the website name, or at least this united strike movement.
(example: april 19th-25th no one buy silk)
4. Try to get as many guild/unions members to read this site.
5. Try to schedule weekly silk strikes.....shit make people list their name and character/server info pledging they will not buy silk for that week or something

just try to be creative in slowing down this greedy behemoth of a company

And so?i don't get your point,if joymax do not sell silk they wil be no game.
37 servers have a cost it's not free.
If you make a game it's normal to have some money for it no?
5.5m for a month is nice deal,it's called business,a game is a business even if you don't want to,it is.

you gotta to be kidding me right? servers are not free no, but they could improve the support and service instead adding more servers for more $$, get ma point?

5.550.000 dollars and no service or support, that's what.

I gotta agree that the support and service is not enough, but they have been putting more and more effort in both game and support lately, such as the email service, some events, and a new rip-off service. Moreover, with silk you get some value for you money, e.g. more exp.

Then think about Blizzard :P

They have 11.5 million players (At least it says so in the commercials)
They all pay $15 a month.

11 500 000 * 15 = 172 500 000

Thats $172.5 million.

That is kinda much

how dare compare? shame on you you cretin. I can imagine that blizzard's service/support is 100x better than silkroad online's. trust me, even if silkroad online is making just as much as them they will just pump more servers, instead they really should concentrate on their service, and maybe expanding the already current servers.

No. Just no.

If you're going to make any sort of statement against Joymax, at least make sure you use reasonable statistics. By saying that there are 3000 players per server whom buy silk, and 50 silk at that, you're only making the end number bigger, which leads to inaccurate results.

Try again with your calculations using reasonable numbers. Something more like:

37 Servers x 1000 Players buying 30 Silk.
37 x 1000 = 37000 Players over 37 Servers buying 30 Silk
37000 x 30 = 1,110,000

Giving you 1000 players per server is still being extremely generous.

All that is a moot point though. Simple answer is, no one forces you to buy silk.
Joymax's lack of support I can agree on. But lack of service? No way. You just got hit with 90 cap not too long ago, then damn 100 cap and the new tomb. Now the Magic Pop Card system thing where Joymax pretty much hands out suns. As a business, they are damn smart. The fact that they have employed all these moneymaking schemes makes them more than deserving of the money they make.

comparing paypal to silkroad online is also a very bad comparison, you joymax fanboy. any kid/turk that plays this game can tell you that it's much easier to beg for 5k to anyone in the 20+ servers we have, because you have much more access to reaching players in this game. with that being said it is much more easier to spread a message/rumours across this game.

Quote:
Silkroad Online is a massively multiplayer online RPG that puts the player deep into historical fantasy, joining the Chinese and European civilizations along the Silk Road trade route. Traveling across Jangan, from China to Constantinople, players can make their fortunes as merchants, prey on the rich as thieves, or be protection-for-hire as hunters. The most recent expansion, Legend III Roc Mountain, added new territory, quests, weapons, and an increased level cap for adventurers. With over 18 million registered users and 170,000 concurrent players worldwide, the triangular conflict of Silkroad Online has never been more exciting. More information about Silkroad Online is available at http://www.joymax.com/silkroad.

As taken from this article: http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS196647+05-Nov-2008+PRN20081105

Quote:
In Egypt, over 1,500 players in 50 internet cafes participated in the
tournament, which was organized into two rounds. The top 30 players earned
a place in the international finals, which will be held in Korea. To add to
the success of the event, a record-setting 12,500 Turkish players
participated in the tournament, designating them as the largest contingent

of Silkroad Online players in the world.

Hope you make the website in Turkish....

Ton of money for a single person, or a few people, but Joymax has to use that money to pay employee salaries, utility costs to keep their facilities running, licensing costs for various software they have, employee benefits like medical/dental/vision. I don't know what of that applies or doesn't apply for a Korean company. I'm sure they have similar expenses to US companies.

Go ahead and boycott silk. Joymax will just see no revenue coming in for SRO and shut down the game.

Reading FTW!

Where did I ever compare silkroad online to Paypal, you douche. I was comparing your http://www.dontbuysilk.com to http://www.paypalsucks.com. No where in there did I compare Silkroad Online to Paypal.

Your idea of a website to get people to boycott buying silk in silkroad will be just as effective as the website set up to boycott Paypal. It does not work.
