I'm worried as well by this issue and would maybe stop if nothing is done by Joymax to give more confidence to the players in their system

I launch a vote :

I certainly won't charge anything till I know for sure they aren't brute-forcing servers etc. Until I know for sure that my account is save. If it will be 1 month.. so be it.

Infact I'll stop playing at all. It's almost rediculous to continue to play/farm without knowing for sure that your account won't be the next target of those hackers

I am not sure if it would help or not, but i definitely am not spending any more real money on the game until i know i am not going to be the target of a ******... ermm... hacker.

i think its a good idea to protest.

maybe if we bought a few globals first to warn everyone and joymax then see if they do anything?

id we stop buying silk all at once - well yeah that could work too.

Higher security meaning what? Less chance of hackers or less chances of botters or both?

I think the security is pretty good on sro, it's better then some other games that don't even have game guard so they can just roam free and do what they want unless a gm catches them, when game guard cahtces most easy bots but doesn't catch all.

One thing i would say they could improve for botters is this, make the bomb's they let people buy a bit more advance for one give them a name of the monster around the place their fighting, secondly make it look almost the same but different so non botters can tell the difference.

Hackers, well no matter how much security you can try put on a game, if theres a professional hacker out there that know's what he's doing a games security isn't gonna stop him, I know people get hacked but I don't see a drastic amount of people getting hacked for them to change the security of sro that much, all they need is more gm's on to catch botters or a easier way to communicate to gm's etc about that as for hackers I dunnu up the security a little bit a giuess.

I see the same people everyday advertising their power leveling websites or gold farming sites through globacl chat. The GMs aren't to pay much attention to global chat, because they're too busy doing whatever it is they're doing or are maybe on a different server when you're typing that out.

maybe they should just have 1 GM per server. but that will never happen.

not enough people would boycott. in theory, I would if I knew it was going to do anything. it's the thought that counts.

I never buy item mall items anyways. purity

gameguard!? wth, ive never actually seen any security on that thing! i mean, it hasnt actually stopped hackers from hacking people has it??
i hav been thinking of buying a gold ticket lately but if there will be a protest then screw the ticket, im with u guys....

oh, and there are also a good number of asses that wouldnt want to protest, namely botter and hackers themselves, and as master wong said, they got sponsors...
it would hav to last for more than a month if anything is gonna work...

also, if we needed to boycott for sumthing it should be more GMs.... only 3 gms for 8 or more servers....

i think spamming the SRO site with complaints and threats should do the trick... i mean seriously, a week ago the update said new antibot measures, but i still see botters evrywer!

Yes, by all means stop playing RIGHT NOW. That way, I'll be able to get into the server.

If you want to force something, have a ton of people all make lvl 1 chars on one server (xian!) and sit in hotan with "JOYMAX DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE HACKING" stalls selling nothing. The server (provided you get more than 5 people) will get clogged faster, Hotan will be clogged, and you'll probably piss off enough people to affect a change.

i agree with jm needing to add security but most of the 'hacking' is simply someone finding your info as in

your forum name or screen name for something = account name
and you enter your email on this forum/other forum/profile/etc
[or is the same as your screenname with @yahoo/hotmail/etc.com at the end]
then they simply need to guess the secret answer, if it's like; what's your favorite sports team they can manually brute force all sports teams within a day and boom you're gone same with where were you born, and other easy questions
then there's the brute force program which might get you when you have a simple password like "banana" or somethin
others happen from keylog, sharing accounts, ingame scam, direct connect 'hacking', website virus, etccccc

i doubt someone just hacks the database, it's very unrealistic to me, that's more like the Xian terror where someone spawned Roc or had special clothing from another sro, not stealing accounts imo

I dont think someone is stupid enough to really type their favorite sports team or whatever.
But the same usernames on different places can really be a problem.

those powerlevel globals are very strange, U cant pm the sayer, even not 0,1 Milisecond after the global, pretty strange isnt it.

but, I wont charge, but I do would pay powerlevel, since it has nothing to do with the security of SRO, the one who lvls me plays by hand, 100% sure, I know him.
