People have been noting my siggy telling me I'm wrong and it's not a glaive but a glavie.
Go look it up in the dictionary before i smack u upside your head.
The only reason glavie is recognized by google is becuz SRO is too popular for its own good and has somehow made glavie a recognized word...

Its a annoying deal. But its not worth making a thread about it. Do some globals and pm the guy who did this crime.

Lol I knew of the word glaive years before I picked up SRO. Glavie is just another example of how they don't put enough effort into the game. Spelling errors? Come on...that's one of the easiest things to fix. I've seen a weapon like this: 'Warrior;s horsemans bow'. Lol...

It's easier to say glavie anyway. Plus you can use it as a title also as glavier instead of glaiver which sounds really stupid. What I don't get is why they didn't just call them polaxes or naginatas or something.

lol you're right but my thoughts are when you talk about SRO you say "Glavie" when you talk about the real life weapon you say "Glaive."

Lol how does the word glaive sound gay?
And seriously people, just cos the game says it doesn't mean it's correct. Why would you allow yourself to constantly make the same spelling mistake, over and over and over? Come on...anyways, glavie sounds retarded in my opinion.
Reise, you can call it a glaivesman. Glaiver OR glavier sounds retarded IMO.

We make fun of people that say it like that. Like Kaizen the bot on babel. "Oh the bot made the trumpet noise, is gm ban me??!?! *proceeds to make trumpet noise*

I have a question, and I bet very few people will be able to answer it without flaming.
What do you people have against proper spelling and grammar?
If you write an essay and your teacher/prof takes off marks for writing “glavie” instead of “glaive”, would you argue?

If you write glavie instead of glaive, you're wrong, and you'll get points taken off. Period. So you have no grounds to argue on lol. 'No it's spelled glavie, this game Silkroad told me so'.
What have I got against bad grammar? Not too much, unless it's plain attrocious and they clearly don't try. It's just that glavie is so STUPID...heh heh I get a laugh out of hearing it though, so I guess it's okay.

And i imagine if u wrtie stuff like "OMG This essay is teh ownage. A+ FTW?" they will really take points off. I mean cmon its a game not a english grammer/spelling class. Some people say Glavie cuz its ezer for them to type and others perfer to spell it right, big deal.

They are both words, you either choose to speak it correctly or incorrectly.

Word: A sound or a combination of sounds, or its representation in writing or printing, that symbolizes and communicates a meaning and may consist of a single morpheme or of a combination of morphemes.
So basically, glaive (correct) and glavie (incorrect), still they are both words. You simply choose to speak and spell the correct or incorrect way.

Actually, most (including myself)consider a "word" a "word" if it has actual meaning, something to define it. "glavie" is misspelling of the word glaive. If we are going to consider "glavie" an word why not as you say just consider "dnagreous"(dangerous~correct spelling) an word or perhaps "nicomplee"(incomplete~correct spelling) an word the list can go on. Basically, people choose to use the correct spelling of the word glaive or choose to use the misspelling of the word glaive.
Definition of glaive
No definition of glavie
