After some time without logging in because I'm too busy, I log in today to find that some people left our guild to start botting. Well, I'm schocked because we've always been with a strong spirit of anti-botting and I tought that we all tought alike: We'd stop playing before we even started botting. Two of them are people I know from another game (MU Online) it has been three years already, and one of them I entrusted some of my account information with.

I just changed my password obviously, but he didn't do anything to me: Just started botting. I still feel that not only him, but all those that left the guild to start botting betrayed out "cause", even tough they left the guild themselves with a message to our Master explaining accordingly why they left.

The guild is partially dead now, of the 27 members left I'd think that only about 6 of them play actively. I've been thinking on moving all the actives to another anti-bot guild that is recruiting (PureEntity) but the language barrier is the greatest obstacle, so we can't do this yet. For now we'll keep our silent actions and trying to have the most fun possible out of the game. At least I don't need a very high level to enjoy it, heck, even taking a walk on Jangan is fun for me if I got the time.

I started thinking: If we could divide the botters into two parts - Those that started botting to cheat and those that started botting to keep up with other botters, which would be the higher?

If you read it all, sorry for taking your time. I'm just a little saddened and I wanted to rant a bit...

The bots are starting to honour the name "demon" I gave to them on a Fan-fiction I used to write when I was really bored (and that is REALLY bored, over 4 hours without anything to do).

I don't bot, will never bot and as I said, will probably quit before doing so. Quitting is so easy nowadays. I don't buy silk, never bought and most probably never will. A lone legit on a sea of bots... One of the last of my kind.

[/overdrama]

Any comments? :(

Sucks man, but what language obstacle? I thought PureEntity were english-speaking, and you seem to be quite familiar with the language..

this is why there should be a rant/having a bad day section for this forum instead of it all getting posted on general

We are indeed English speaking. Just out of curiosity what language is it that you speak? Of course I am very honored that it is us that first came to your mind(s) ^^

As to your questions, a bot is a bot, no matter why he bots. If you bot because don't have time to play the game, quit. If you bot to keep up with botters, just get over it, your as bad as they are.

Keep fighting, as long as those left in your guild stay legit, there is no reason to be disheartend, after all, your ex-members that started botting are the ones that lose out in the long run.

:)

You hate a bot until you use one.
Someone tries it and they don't do anything else.

It's people like you two that makes the Silkroad community so bad. threefingeredguy, if you got nothing better to do then go play that Wand of Gamelon of yours, since you made your avatar from it you must quite fancy that game (those interested on how much the game sucks, google it).

:)

We speak portuguese, our guild is so far the only legit brazilian guild left on Greece as far as I know (and the rivalry agains the Brasil guild botters was one source of fun, but then some of us are going there now).

We chatted once ingame, I'm Ranchi. Your guild was the first to come up because I knew you were recruiting, and you and your union are the only botless guild/union I know of for sure.

About the question, it wasn't to say "oh, my friends aren't guilty because they bot just to be able to keep up with bots". I find them guilty as well. As I said, I have the great ability of being able to enjoy the game doing about anything, even grinding (because I "spice up" the grind). It was to think "How would it be if those that turned to the dark side to keep up with bots stayed legit?". I'm sure the number of people that bot to "keep up" is very, very large.

We'll stay strong, but we're still saddened nonetheless. My Master didn't want to show it, but I'd bet he's very hurt, we've been playing since Troy opened and moved to Greece after our Master's character got hacked on Troy (most of us wanted to start anew anyway).

This friend of yours who you knew for so long time never did anything to you, even he had your pass+id he didnt do anything wrong,he act as a friend to you,and now you say on forum how you change your password and how you betrayed feel....if i was him i would feel betrayed

i used to play Diablo2 and i play for +- 3 Year legit,4 Max lvl Character and i was one of the best out there cause i played like 24/7 without using bot.

but every player has a different situation.for Legit players ,they go or school or sitting whole day home,or just dont have not much to do,so they can play as much as they want.but like said it depends on situation.botters are >"mostly"< players who work ,have home, famillie, kids to take care ,so they cant play 24/7,and they are addicted just like the Legit player and a gamer is a gamer you cant stop it :banghead:

Wanting to start a pure legit guild like what Stealmysoda's guild seems to be. Strong legits. But I'm on Sparta and not to many around so it's pretty hard. I won't quit though. I'll keep going on. Just know you're not the only one out there ;)

You are not the only legit player, since you mention PureEntity I asume you are on greece, while there are just a few legit players/guilds/unions, we are around =) so do not be discouraged by all the botting, like I've said on similar threads it is up to us to make a real difference <3

The moment he choose to bot, he lost my trust. I didn't do anything to him because he BOTS, but I'd better safe than sorry, especially since he's a friend I met over the internet. Even if it is a long time friend, I'm very careful.

Good luck making your guild/union, it's always nice for the legits to stay united. :)

I've just chatted with one of the "friends" who left the game. I'll post a translated transcript soon, since I'm bored.

Thank you very much. That's what I want is to get an actual community started. A strong legit union full of actually people talking and just having fun in the GAME. Perhaps not the best but we'll surely have some fun while we do play ^.^

EDIT~About finding out that a friend bots. I just recently had this happen to me and I must say it's like someone here on SRF said once. Finding out a friend bots is like finding out a friend is into fecal porn. It certainly changes your view on them. I find I have nothing to say to him anymore and while I'm slightly saddened and will miss him I also know that i'm better off.

Our guild master (Sisay) lent this friend a 68 sield, and he wasn't on at the time of this chat so... And this was the first to leave. For god's sake don't quote this post on further posting ^^

Him: hi
Me: hi
Him: please tell Sisay that i only need a 72 shield
Him: then I'll return him the 68 when I get it
Him: If you need something just say and i'll help ^^
(As if I would accept anything from a botter)
Me: well I don't think he wants to talk to you for a while
Me: He's feeling very bad.
Him: O.o
Me: Other people also left the guild
Me: You, xxxx, xxxx, xxx and xxxx.
Him: Well when I left I told Sisay why I was leaving and explained everything
Him: I even asked to stay on guild but he didn't let me
Him: And those already botted before they left
(Pointing fingers? What a "friend")
Him: Well, if you wanna be mad ^^
Me: It's not with you
Me: I don't hate you, but you still bot
Him: Ah, this stuff about being anti-bot is being silly
Him: Everyone uses
Him: There are even those that sit in front of the pc
Me: That's not what you used to think
(long silence)
Me:*sigh* whatever... That's the dark side of the force
Me: But that's the each one's opinion
Me: We both can think whatever we want
Him: yes man I understand this ^^
Him: but man... when you get to about level 70
Him: you'll level surrounded by bots
Him: and you working to get 0.01 each 2 mobs
Him: no farm
Me: I already level surrounded by bots
Him: Look at the high levels on hotan
Him: seinding messages saying i'm bot so what?
Me: No matter how much you want to convince me or explain yourself, there's a basic difference between us
Him: stop that
Me: I have fun, you don't
Him: I don't?
Him: just turn off the bot and do job or some pvp
Him: if you want to kill some mobs kill, but then get tired and turn on bot...
Him: you'll live this when you get to this level
(I'm 56 by the way, I know a lot about Penons and botters)
Me: I got news for you, I don't need bot to have fun
Me: Maybe i'll never even get to 70
Me: But I won't use bot for that
Me: Or stop having fun
Me: Because I love my char, I love Silkroad, and not the bot's job
(I like this line so much I should copyright it)

Him: ^^ I also like this game a lot...
Me: You're the one who told yourself to level
Him: but even if I like my char
Him: to go trade and face a level 80 bot fully farmed
Him: its sad too
Me: And you feel better completing a trade being a level 80 bot fully farmed?
Him: If I kill that bot that bothers me yes
Me: Well, I feel great completing a trade on level 56 legit no farm
Him: yes I respect that
Me: Tthat's why I say I have fun and you don't
Him: I got nothing against...
Him: each one each one...
Me: A person botting from level X to 80 doesn't enjoy the game
Me: Pardon the insult, most bots are DUMB... I get around them being smart
Him: yes that's your idea... your thinking
Him: I myself see bots
Him: that don't know the skill to level
Him: or even don't know the weapon they use
Me: regardless, there is absolutely no reason to bot
Me: you made your choises, i made mine
Him: dunny, I like my char I wanted to see him strong ^^
(he was 69 when he left guild almost two weeks ago, now he's 72...)
Me: But honestly
Me: If you think that only level 70~80 are good to have fun
Him: omg I didn't say that ^^
(...)
Him: you're putting words in my mouth
Me: the moment you chose to bot, it's implicit
(silence)
Me: Need me to explain?
Him: O.O
Him: nah nevermind ^^
Him: I just never siad that
Me: I... Just understand you want to explain yourself... But it's better not.
Him: woo you say that as if I was asking for forgiveness ^^
(please do!)
Him: I just wanted to offer help nothing more
Him: and chat...
Me: You know me...
Me: As much as I would never bot, I'd never get help from one
Him: okok geez you take this too seriously
Him: i'll say nothing +
Me: Our dedications are different, maybe that's the largest difference between us
Him: omg it's just a game
Me: You wouldn't understand
(no more chat)

...
I think this shows how much I hate bots, don't it?

Think what you may, consider I was annoyed and disappointed with him. He admits freely, says usual bot gibberish, and so on. I stretch the arguing the longest I could, because I enjoy arguing (even senselessly, weird eh?). I see I was being somewhat ignorant for not being moved by his words, while he tries to be polite but bots are bots.

About friends that are found using bots, my union is far from being legit, and I was disappointed when I found some cool people from union char actually botted (while some don't). But I knew from the start it wan't a whole legit union, so I didn't get much shocked. What bothered me was that someone from an anti-bot guild surrendered.

I understand exactly what you mean, that was the main reason why I left my old union to create a new one with some buddies that I know are legit. There is no excuse for botting (unless you really need to poke your nose while the bot grinds) not only it ruins the game for everyone else, but its also plain silly. While its not a big acomplishment, I am proud to have reached my actual lv (50) without resorting to bot <3

And THAT is why you feel betrayed I assume. I'm with ya there, while he wasn't in my guild he was certainly one of my longest standing friends in SRO.

Heh, LeBre. Either someone is posing him or you're Brasil's guildmaster. Botter and CCFer beyong remedy, and using a screenshot that it's even yours/his, I can recognize it's the same one someone else posted a while ago.

Please, go screw someone else's topic and leave us alone.

id like to make a confession that i bot. reason i bot is to be competitive with botters. i run 15 clients pharming me billions of gold which i sell to gold companies and people for big bucks which is good for the game economy and sell sosuns on eBay for thousand of USD in income per month. i make big bucks playing this game. it's like a dream job.. getting paid very well to do live your passion. im a brazilian and im a proud botter. u should stop whining cuz everyone bots once they reach the cave. if u dont bot then ur not cool and very stupid

im pretty sure this guy lives in his moms basement watching his bot grinding all day and his only pleasure is a plastic doll he calls his girlfriend.

you need not recount your fantasies u very sad loner grinding 24/7 have no life and no girl friend and have imaginary girlfriend calleda doll to make up for your loneliness. LOL

btw i only check on me bot one time a day. i have life cuz i bot
