!! THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT ME WANTING TO BUY GOLD !!

... yeah, had a pretty confusing chat with some unionmates just a minute ago (no named, no forgotten), when all of a sudden someone mentioned;

"Hey X, got any items for me, my mom wont let me buy gold"

And ofcourse, I reacted to this and asked wtf he meant with that, and got replied from several members of my union that "everyone buys gold", "how do you think people have that much gold" etc, everyone defending goldbuyers. I don't know about you but I've always "thought" (can't say known now, lol) that it was against some sort of SRO rules.

I also remembered Athena_vn (aka HuyFong) getting flamed as hell for "buying" gold, or even the thought of him buying gold was ridicoulus. So, have I ..... missed something here or is it all of a sudden OKAY to buy gold, because I've always seen this as one of the biggest problems in SRO together with botting. Please post your opinion on this so I have a ..... clue.

It's against Joymax's policy, allows for more gold botters, and fucks up the ecnonomy.

Personally I do not buy gold, but I also do not have a problem with it. The way I look at everything is from a money making/time maximizations stand point. I could spend 1 hour in this game and make maybe 100k, or I could spend that time at work and buy like 10m. I just look at it as transferring your time. I could invest my time in work and make 10x the amount I would make playing SRO. But then again that also supports botting, which I hate, so it's very much a catch 22.

i honestly dont see why it would be allowed. all it does it ..... w/ their economy, ppl who buy gold can afford to buy high prices and ppl realize that and sell high, which as always make the legits weak as they r unable to afford good items,and the non-legit almighty

Goldbuying is bad for SRO all around and I'm 99% sure it's agianst the rules.

It's bad for the economy first off. Where do those companies get the gold? From (gold)bots, and also from people who sell them gold, how do those people get that gold? You probably guessed it, bad bots! More gold bought = more botting goes on.

buying gold is for losers who want the quick way to everything (same ideology as botters btw) and they should be eradicated

Not to be like that but, I'd like to hear some more experienced/well known players input on this topic, as this obviously have become a more common problem. What do you think, all of you lvl80-hand-grinded-legits about lvl64 buying gold, and snitches that lvl64 right infront of your eyes? Is that fair? Would YOU buy gold?

yea when you buy gold you are indirectly supporting bots.

But JM should be partly blame.
Daily like almost every 30 minutes a person will global about some gold site. And what does the gm do...nothing. So basically many of the player thinks that no respond from a gm like "Buying gold is illegal you WILL get ban" (after the goldsite global) means that gold buying is legal.

Honestly GMs needs to be more active instead of spamming the same notice every hour.

If you think AFK Grinders are the worst of this game think it again, coz goldbuyers are the real terror, like someone said, it really fuqs up the game economy...

Currently you cannot buy any high lvl SoX without buying gold, they put prices like 100 ML and above, really sux;

Plus you can actually "buy" some gold by buying Pots from Item Mall i.E, you will save a lot of gold, it's almost same thing, but don't messes the game economy.
I do not aprove goldbotters, gold sellers, it's not fair, not cool at all.

I think if the person is nice about it, and isn't a total jackass like "OMFGZ U R TEH NUB!!! I KLLED U WIT MY FULL SOSUN!"
Some people have to buy gold because they can't stall overnight due to their shit computer.

I'm also fine with bots if they aren't mean. I think these things are potentially not bad at all. But all the bots I'm fine with actually play the game too, and only bot because they're on vacation or something.
People who buy 900 mil and bots all the way up to 80 fully farmed, those guys aren't cool.
People who buy 10 mil every 2 weeks or so, bot when they're away for the weekend, and are nice people are fine by me

if u lvl by self and are 100% legit and maybe had some luck on the way u don't need to buy gold. I've never boughten gold and have 100m+ thanks to good investment (fiuxing up weps) luck and just saving up gold

so...what is a gold ticket for? A gold ticket is a quick way to get to a higher level.

Do you think any legit player can afford it to BUY a lv 64 sosun? Ofcourse you can lend money from your union and stuff, but almost every sosun 64 weapon which was bought, was bought from bought money.
There is no player which has 700m+ on his bank waiting for that sosun. We find 100m already extremely rich.

Lazy ppl buy gold. You can make plenty of gold in this game legit without resorting to buying it.

More than 100 mil is easy. 3 and 4 hundred mil is kinda harder, but still doable. You just gotta be careful.

I dont NPC hardly anything. I stall all night EVERY NIGHT, Im so cheap when I give gear to guildmates, I want the gear it is replacing in payment. (or else we make you sing in Vent, which is recorded and brought out for laughs later). I pimp my own gear, I never buy other ppls. I keep my eyes open for good deals, etc...

im really low on cash right now... under a mil :\ but when i grind my monkey usually picks up around 300-400k gold + useless tabs i can npc and crap pieces of equipment i can npc, it all adds up. dosnt take long to get a few mil just from grinding and the npc.

i just have to ignore the stalls though, im good at spending money >.<

Okay... How can bots be mean if they aren't people? Granted their users can be nice or mean but their characters are still emotionless, as bots or not. Any player bot is just as bad as any gold bot. Being on vacation or what ever is still no excuse for botting. It's not the actual act of botting itself, it's just the thought that some one who actually has the time to play, enjoys playing and doesn't even bother to bot won't be able to login because of a botter who is AFK grinding and adding to server traffic problems. Now apply this to the botter vs. legit situation we have now. Tell me how would that be fair to those people? These people should still be banned regardless of their personalities. Whether or not they should be flamed is soley based on the opinion of the flamer.


Again, it's not the integrity of the player in question, it's the act of the player itself. Whether they buy 900 mil or 10 mil, if they spend the gold more loosely than a legit player would, they would still be inflating the economy and thus screwing every other person who doesn't buy gold. And don't forget that buying gold only supports the bots and server traffic.

0 tolerance is the rule. If you are away from the game, you are away from the game. If you can't afford that sosun in game, then you don't buy that sosun in game. Also 10 mil every 2 weeks or so is ALOT more then I make by grinding at 7x and cash in from drops. If you start to differ between good and bad bots and good and bad gold buyers then you start missing the whole point of why we (yes we, since this is supposed to be a non botter forum) don't want them in game.

I used to be against it but now frankly i don't care who buys gold or not, i don't care who bots or not, as long as i can log in the game and play it but you can't even do that nowadays =_='

I'll never buy gold tho, i make enough hand-grinding, maybe more than enough.

Its funny tho when you see a gold-buyer getting pissed off about server traffic ^^

But in SRO it's not that hard to get money. Myself I have a new char since 5 days and I have 850k + 400k worth of element.

In GuildWars you can even buy gold provided by the game ITSELF!

yeah, i know lots of bots/gold buyers. I dont do it myself (i have 990k right now >.<), but other people doing it dosnt really bother me that much... as long as they arnt in _Pure_ or it dosnt directly affect me.

I've always loathed gold bots but I used to not mind the average player bot or gold buyer, and still to this day I don't question a person's personality based on if they buy gold or bot. But now that server traffic is insane these days, I'm starting to wish all gold buyers and bots be banned, regardless if they are friends or not...

I do not care about gold buyer (that do it in moderation, as someone above me mentioned).

It's the people who have no self control, that buy gold in the masses that bother me.

It's because the prices were inflated in the first place that people buy gold (I play on Sparta, which opened on the Christmas event, which buggered things up right from the start).

Like also, mentioned, i'm happy if I connect and stay conncected. Bots, I hated them bitterly at first, but I have grown to live with them, as they do not vanish. And yes, I do understand that gold bots are a % of the population of bots. But it isn't that great. It's mainly normal players that make up the larger % of bots.

Like I said, i'm cool with it, as long as it is in moderation.
