1: Ignore List; id be much happier if i could add the usual global/chat/pm spammers to one tidy ignore list and never have to hear their nonsense ever again.

2: Stat reset; perhaps a quest to be taken to reset STR/INT stat points. Personally i would like to see this as an item mall option also. Obv you could have tiers to the amount of stat points you would like reset.

3: Pin code storage; a simple 4 digit pass code would offer another layer of security. Allowing user to store the bulk of their gold and precious items if they seriousley feel their account integrity could be compromised.

4: Auction House; again an option for players who do not like to stall and leave their pc's on while theyre at work/sleep etc....i for one respect the environment and i try to keep afk stalling to a minimum.

5: Random player verification methods; a simple puzzle using the mouse input at entirely random intervals. Maybe when people are playing or when they apply to talk to an NPC (potion seller and blacksmith would be a good'un).

6: Protectors assimilating mobs around it; i dont know why protectors work like they do but theyre pretty useless now. If protectors we're to look identical (to a bot) as the mobs it is set to attack then it would be a useful time to put in a 3 strikes system. Bot attacks (and gets killed by) a protector 3 times and its auto ban, harsh but very very fair i think.

Please no dumb flaming or useless spam posts. If you think ive got something totally wrong, please, point it out. I was gonna post this at the official (ha ha) forums but i think its best placed here.

Id be happy if they gave us back the last image verify method... the one where you gotta type as fast as you can... it makes things a bit more interesting log in-wise :P cause im about to make a char on cabal or some other mmo.. and i like your ideas btw

I agree with BrokenSaint. The third one is by far the coolest idea up there. >.> Mainly cause I am too lazy to wanna do the random verification thing.

the 3ed idea should have been done ages ago but well this is JoyMax and
thay dont like to force the brain to think or even bother with stuff that MUST be in MMO's

and i think its should be more then 4 digits maybe 5 or more
cuz if the person got your acc why not get your stuff from werehouse too
then he can just go 0000...0001 and on and on till he get it
5 digits will take hell of alot more time no one even will try

1: cant agree more but lets start with a guild invite options (to deny those)
chat ignore i just set mine on union or just simply close it its a thing you can solve already for the guild invites people just create their own guilds or join random and leave it to be 3 days safe.

2: stat reset would be a bad bad idea just because everyone would go pure int then relocate to anything they want. its like having the ability to buy a npc weapon and exchange it for a sosun. (maybe a dumb example but quite raw :P )

3: we just need an update that already has been done in other sro versions to be able to restore stuff you sold to npc

4: already there but we got to wait for it as usual :P

5: nice idea but considering this is joymax, forget about it

6: if they looked exactly as normal mobs then even handgrinders would attack it, some bots attack them just because they are no packet bots current bots are nearly all packet so will always detect the difference in a normal mob or protector.

agreed

NO!!! no hyrbrid ints (nuke lvls) going to pure str bladders to tank and then back to pure int cause their guild needs them, by being hybrid they can get pass the tier system

3: Pin code storage; a simple 4 digit pass code would offer another layer of security. Allowing user to store the bulk of their gold and precious items if they seriousley feel their account integrity could be compromised.
wonder where ur stealing these ideas... i mean borrowing  , wouldn't solve most hackinigs cause they take ur secret pass with them, and can always transfer a lot of stuff that u have on u... like ur good equip XD

4: Auction House; again an option for players who do not like to stall and leave their pc's on while theyre at work/sleep etc....i for one respect the environment and i try to keep afk stalling to a minimum.
gonna happen with euro

5: Random player verification methods; a simple puzzle using the mouse input at entirely random intervals. Maybe when people are playing or when they apply to talk to an NPC (potion seller and blacksmith would be a good'un).
will annoy the crap out of legit players and give botters around 4 hrs more work to come up with a solution

6: Protectors assimilating mobs around it; i dont know why protectors work like they do but theyre pretty useless now. 3: In MU Online, they use pin code to protect storage too. But u cant protect what u are wearing or in inventory.
6: Protectore wont work because each object in sro is associated with a number, an ID. Even if they look the same, has same name, but it's still 2 different objects. So it's not a big deal for a packet bot.

im impressed with the feedback, i took quite a raw approach on the ideas. i didnt have much time (or energy) to express the finer points of the ideas. Also i had feeling the more useful people on the forums would help with those finer details, alas you all did.

*I didnt fully know the workings of protectors, but now i do so thankyou! Yet another thing ive learnt today^^

*Pin code storage was suggested for absolute security, if u were in that much doubt your password and e.mail (and joymax) alone would protect your account you could just remove your most precious kit and store it.

*Stat point reset, ok i kinda thought about the whole 'ok this week i'll be full str and next week i wanna nuke stuff'. I been thinking something like it would be handy, im a tainted str blader. I was mis-informed on my char when i first started out and i would really like to find a way to replace all the str im missing that was spent on int. so maybe a stat 're-allocation' up to a certain amount would be better suited.

*As for random verification.....as long as it gave the botters a hard time i would gladly go thru the process myself. Surely if the botter problem was resolved and we could all be pretty assured they were no longer around then the system could be removed?

ive seen these ideas floating around here and there, some id thought of before id read them. but if we're being honest i should think a serious amount of people who play and enjoy SRO (the legit kind of enjoyment of course) would have thought of these ideas. If i could be bothered to search i would pull up when i mention pin code verification a couple months ago :)

So if I think I'm going to get hacked, I place my gear in a lockable storage. If I don't get hacked, no problem, I take my stuff back out. But if I do get hacked, then what? The hacker can't get my stuff and changes my password and email address and name and now I can't get back on and get my stuff. Now all my gear is stuck in a character that will never be used. Did I miss something?

all are good ideas except the 2nd one maybe it would be cool if you were allowed to reallociate maybe 10-20 stat points per char for correcting mistakes that beginners usually do when they first start a char but more then that would totally screw the fun of pvping at level cap think everyone leveling too fast with pure int spear and then switch to a pure str or another die hard build..

also i loved 3rd option allows you to set a pw for storage another mmo i tried had that option and i said Sro needs something like that :)

besides ignore list others are good but short lifed if u know what i mean bot programmers would find a way around em shortly
thanks for sharing your thoughts

The 3d idea is great only you should let the numbers appear on the screen and that you have to tap them with your mouse button so keyloggers have no effect:D

I believe the stat reallocation, if introduced in the item mall would have to be very expensive. Else everyone would level pure INT spear and switch to full STR glaive at the cap.

thats pretty smart.

3 and 5 are most helpful looking. Im assuming 5 is meant to be an anti-bot plan

well...if they hack the char and they have no access to the good stuff...whats the point in hacking the char to begin with? id rather get hacked and take pleasure in knowing they cant use what they hacked me for. :)

**ya a smaller amount of stat re-allocation would be a much better idea in retrospect, id love to pull 20/25 str outta what went into int.**

Heres m suggestion for guild storage..

Keep the pin code for guild storage, but allow members without storage rights to add money (not take away money) SO they can help lvl a guild rather than give money to a specific person.

Let me have a go at this:

1: Ignore List: You obviously think joymax will do this? they wont put the effort in, too much korean booze to look forward too.

2: Stat reset: Wont happen, if it does, it will be via an item, probably worth around 300 silk.....

4: Auction House: MORE KOREAN BOOZE!

3: Pin code storage: if your worries about your account integrety, dont give out your email and/or username, make a proper security question. make a forum name other than your username *first thing they will try* and make your password cryptic. i think their was a post about this somewere

5: Random player verification methods: for what? botters? Popping up at any time would piss me off. not an effective way to do it either. this would also kick stalls off.

6: Protectors assimilating mobs around it: Too harsh, nice thinking though...
