okay, i am totally lost here, what exactly are bots? i keep reading and hearing about them, but no where have i seen anything that says what they are.
i know about grinding, farming, etc. my two sons play wow and they explained what those things are, but no info on bots.
so can someone explain them to me? something that an old lady can understand if you please

A bot is a program that grinds for you.

a program that plays the game for you. kills mobs for you. repots you. runs you back to your leveling spot. kills more mobs. heals you. buys horses and scrolls for you.

it does everything.

it srewed up sro by taking away grinding. with 90% of the players capped at 80, there are no low levels. the few that are there have no one to look up to. most guilds have 3 or 5 active members and alot of bots.

its also the root of all problems in sro. server traffic is caused by bots. inflation is caused by bots. gold buying is caused by bots. lag is caused by bots. fix bots and sro is 10000x better.

You know so much about it how?

that is totally stupid, if you want to play the game that way, then why bother playing at all. i mean i play silk road for the challenge of seeing how many monsters i can kill and what i can get and learn. if i use a program to do it, then what the hell am i bothering to play at all for.

Wow even joymax employees can figure this out(and they are retarded to start out with). Im not supporting bot but the ppl that bot , they do it becuase they want to get to higher level faster and owning, and playing silkroad is mostly about jobbing and pvp(little grinding, no1 likees it). drkstone57 if u got pass 10 grinding will get boring soon..And trust me botters are smarter and less annoying than legits, legits whine to much.

in response to you ilovelegits, i am definately over 10th level, and yeah sometimes it does get boring, but what the heck, i love a game where i can work out my frustrations by hacking and slashing all kinds of things, just ask my boys, they have loaned me almost every video game they have to keep me busy. tell the truth, i been thinking about joining them on WOW just for laughs.
and by the way, i don't appreciate the retarded comment. i don't take it personally, but i have worked with mentally handicapped people and i think it rates right up there with any racist or bigoted word in the world.

what is so smart about hitting a shortcut and auto train? and why the rush to get to a higher level? this game is timeless you can connect whenever (usually and even more easier when you got some cash ) you want and as far as i remember there is nothing known when the game will be finished or taken offline.
that you don`t like grinding does not exactly consider everyone agrees with you i do enjoy some mindless grinding from time to time its not always a pleasure but if it isn't you just disconnect there is no one pushing me to hit a certain level in some time.

how can bots be less annoying anyway? well goldbots are not the greatest chats but player bots tend to whine when things are not going as plan but same thing goes for legits, actually while grinding the only people i hear whining are the guys who come and check their bot and see i am kill stealing them, legits always say it immediately.

silkroad is not mostly about pvp since there is a hard time finding some good one and doing a job is usually boring since everyone is doing a 1star or you cant find any challenge, silkroad is about working for your levels and in the end enjoying some pvp most players i know who hit 80 (legit or bots) all just restart a new character anyway so why all that rush to get to 80? if you cant even enjoy it?
