too many wizards, too little warlocks IMO youll have higher chance of partying as warlock and you can curse monsters :)
plus when or if they bring out a cursed hearts quest for the europeans then you can always change back later.

I think if you are pure int, wizard will be stronger. If you are not pure int (hybrid or full str), warlock will be better. In the full str case, you will be combining warrior or rogue skills with your warlock skills.

warlock is an int build...and hybrid is actually useless in europe cuz you dont have imbue (and wizards only nukes...only does magical dmg so physical balance doesnt make any sense)

actually a warlock/rogue or warrior build could work

rogue/warlock would be real annoying pure str of course

first lay down massive status effects with warlock (you dont have to be pure int to use status effects)

second switch to daggers or crossbow, and activate whichever buff you need and because status effects are weakening the enemy, you lay down the smackdown.

also you can use warlock to stun, then rogue to shank.

or you can stun and then switch to s/s and deal dmg

either way it works.

see if you think certain builds through they kick azz

warrior with warlock as sub could work...but warlock with warrior/rouge as sub most likely nut cuz of the low phy balance...doh =P

why not be both? both of them are pure ints anyway. Be a wizard and a warlock. all you need to do is change weapons to use the skills.

Warlocks would totally pwn Wizzards. Wanna know why?
1. Warlocks can equip shields which can block the wizard's attacks.
2.Warlocks can stun, and put stuff to sleep, which will help them buy time.
3.warlocks have lots of debuffs which can lower the wizard's attacks.
4.Warlocks should be using robes which means more magical defence.

So, Wizards are at a complete disadvantage if they are going against warlocks. But There is a possibility that they could win. But they would need real luck. But that is just my honest opinion, so no need to flame me when you think differently.

I like to have warlocks in my party, but I way way way preffer to solo as a wizard.

Warlocks are badasses at taking down party mobs and giants because of their status effects, but they don't have many normal attacks, hence making soloing that much harder.

+1

Warlocks are very helpful in parties, but they have a single attack though that is not about status effect..like a really tiny small nuke :P that can be good for solo grinding in fact i dont mind soloing at all cause you can just hit some status attacks from far and when they start to come close hit the small nuke and they are dead...waaay fast you just see numbers of damage flying insanely. :D

when i was lvl 25 wizard i took on a 26 warlock and the only way he could kill me was to use his stun or any other status effect attacks and attack from there (which got really annoying real quick). But once i hit him with an earth nuke its over for him. the way i look at it is that who ever gets hit first (nuke or status effect) your pretty much screwed.

Every time I see a wizard get rolled by a party mob I feel a little warmer inside...

Wizards are highly annoying no matter the situation, either they constantly KS when out questing or they lure too many mobs to the group...but the worst part is the ego of some of these people...almost every wizard I've met is a total ass...

Warlocks...pure warlocks...learn very quickly between what is good to do...and what is bad to do...wizards just don't seem to learn...

If I ever had a choice between wizard and warlock I'm gonna choose someone who'll actually contribute to the health and well being of a party...

So I say go Warlock...

Lol ;S

That's generalizing...

oh.. and also

"If I ever had a choice between wizard and warlock I'm gonna choose someone who'll actually contribute to the health and well being of a party..."

You think Wizards don't contribute to the party?

The only reason you should see a dead Wizard, that's if the Cleric isnt join their job correctly
