today...i truly felt the need for knockdown of the 2h swordsman in the party
yes...it seems to be annoying to most ppl...especially full int characters that r trying to cast spells while 2h just knockdown a mob and cancelled ur attack.
however, today, during party grinding... the set up was as follow:
2h swordsman : 4 members
wizards: 2 members
cleric: 1 member ( me )
bard: 1 member
we were grinding at the poliphemus place...and only us alone
mind u the highest lvl character at the time, the wizard, was lvl 22
all of sudden a huge mob of party mobs just popped up ( 15 i counted )
all of us got annihlated except for the last standing 2h swordsman. they simply mowed thru the party mobs like grass and they r only lvl 12's and 11's. they saved the party from total annihilation by constantly knocking down monsters ( which allowed them to gain time for the pot delay ) as well as dmg them like hell with their skills. dont say they didnt do their job good as a meatshield. i am pretty damn sure if 15 mobs popped up out of nowhere right in the MIDDLE of the formation (which int characters r always there )..not much u can do about it
after they destroyed the party mob, one of them rez me and thus i rez the rest of the team and we went on to grind for another 3 hours.
to all the int characters out there...i know it mite get annoying. but they R really important in the party...at least as important as you r. so give them respect and let them do their stuff.
thx to listen to me

You have to realize though, there's a difference between knocking down enemies in a bad situation and needlessly keeping a monster on the floor for the rest of the party to gawk at it for 10 minutes with no other monsters around.

agree. it's one thing to KD to save party members, it's when warrs have KD skill in the number 1 key slot so that wiz's and warlocks end up gawking when their skills get cancelled on every warr's skill cycle.
lol at gawking!

It just means that 2h swordsmans need to judge when to kd. Thats a skill that is hard to master, and gets better with experience playing the class. I think having that many 2h swordsmans in a pt is a bit of an overkill :/

i think OP's missing the point.
kd to save pt is ok, kd when there are 3-5 wiz is not ok.

I do not doubt the fact that knockdown is useful. The problem tends to be that warriors use the skill at times when they don't need to use it. Ultimately, these are the kind of issues that should iron themselves out as people adjust to the party system and learn how to properly utilize their builds.

Last party I was (I'm a Xbow Rogue lvl 26, helping some low lvls wizard & warlock friends to lvl at Evil Order Soldiers)we have no cleric, so i tell to party fellows, please don't attack party mobs or more than a giant at same time until we can get a cleric. All agree. But of course, both lvl 20 & 24 2H warriors, go against party mobs and all giants on shigth, and start spamming knock down, so the rest of the party, can do nothing, but see the warriors die, and run in circles.
Salu2.

that has got to be the Farking most retarded situation.
four 2h swordsmen, wtf?
no one has a party like that, and no one should have a party like that. If you have foud 2handed swordsmen, why the **** not knock it down? you have 4 people who do 50% more damage when the monsters laying down on his ass.
either way, a lvl 22 mage at lvl 12 mobs? he should be 1 shotting everything, and like 5 shotting the party mobs.
