Ever notice the complete lack of bards, just wondering whats up with that, and bard sub class doesn't count (most only get it to lvl 10 for the marching thing, thats like getting lightning only for grasswalk and leaving it at lvl 1)

Just curios why no one wants to play a bard, i made a bard on mercury and you know what they're pretty fun to play as, i was in this party with a cleric, me the bard, we had a rouge, 2 wizzards, and 2 warriors, and a warlock, it was pretty hard core being in a party with 1 of every class.

as far as solo play goes bards arn't so good at it, not like my cleric was, but i have potions for that, but fightiing on lv is hard, i'm only lvl 18 right now with the bard, i'll have to see what they are like later on, just wondering what people think of bards in general, and why no one every plays them, its rare to find a bard past lvl 20.

Music is not for everyone. You must have a passion for it.

Generally, people don't wanna play a support class. Bard is seemingly the most boring class as well as a support class.

BTW Nuclear, why do you feel the need to stretch the page with that sig?

well i know not every one wants to be a support role, but I never figured it'd be so rare, maybe people just havn't tried it and realized how fun it is, but then again, in a party 2 support units can easily mantain the other 6

it might be useful for grinding but that's all..
Bards don't do any damage so why not take it as a sublass ? you can always equip a bard staff or whatever to support others since you won't be useing it for fighting

bard staff = harp

plus i want to see how good these buffs work out at higher lvls, and they do deal dmg, 3 hits for an on lvl creature, the only thing that sucks is the low defense, and low hp, so i'm using alot of hp potions, noise will be nice when i get it, but their dmg isn't that great, i would do a sub class but i really don't feel like sp farming.

If a bard owns it could only be with the skills of their sub....bards are not ment to own they prevent others from being owned

If you solo, bard is an awesome sub. Gives me 60% speed and no agro, combine that with my wiz nukes and its a grinding machine. As a main though you need a party to do anything

I beg to differ, I am just not using bard for damage anymore, I am still fully functional in a pure support role as a bard ;) heals/buffs always updated.

Actually, I may be using bard for PvP in the future, it just grinds slower than wizard PvE. Bard has a nice absolute dmg attack that will come in handy in PvP against certain targets, especially INT based builds.

EDIT - also, with wiz/bard combo against a STR character i can stack 70%+ phys dmg absorbtion as long as Im using my harp, so it will depend on the situation whether or not I use bard / wiz.

too bad i can't substitute a harp with a guitar, one of those double necks, then it'd be really bad ass, but hey the harp came before the guitar, and harps actually can sound pretty cool, the d8 harp should be an electric harp

Bards can regian MP and give lots of absortion, damage, and have more attacks than the cleric, bard is more fighter than cleric, because he/she don have to see the party a lot, only plays the best song for the fight and can start to fight, while cleric only see if all have full HP.
But obviouly BARD IS NOT A FIGHTER, bcz his tambour and dances are over with the 1st hit, so is not a good choice for pvp, is better for party ppl and make him happy with music :) and the perferct job for a bard is to be a trader :D
