egyptians use it too afaik, but not as much as turks.

well its pretty same as words "shalom aleihem" in hebrew it even looks almost the same, so i guess the correct translation of this is, peace with you and, peace with you too, in hebrew we say only shalom though, it can be used as for hi, same as for bye xD
