Well, I'm supposing you already know the skills I'll be mentioning on this topic.

I'm a Cleric, currently level 37 with 37 mastery. However there is something bugging me. A short while ago I had a 3-gap ready so I could farm a little, and when Soloing I would hit Kokorus with Trial Cross, that would one-hit them (safe leveling, even though not great exp). I was having much trouble leveling, so I decided on closing my gap to get my full 5d protector set. However, upon closing my gap, I wouldn't one-hit kokorus with Trial Cross any longer! No matter how many times I casted, maybe I would have rolled the dice low, but no! They would always keep a small piece of health and stay alive!

Now take this logic. I hit those birds with normal attack for about 800. However, hitting them with Trial Cross hits them for about 1500. Seems rather ok, since my trial cross has 199% damage. However, the first passive is supposed to increase this skill's damage in 32%, and that is NOT the case. I figured that leveling this passive is needed because when you rise a mastery, the skill gets weaker, and the passive is there to make it even. Why the hell must I spend my SP on a stupid passive to make up for it? Why the hell increasing a mastery will LOWER my skill damage?

After some training, I increased both my passive and Trial Cross levels and my skill damage came back to one-hitting those birds.

I noticed the same happens with bard skills, if you don't keep the mag attack passive leveled, your skill damage will be much lower than it should. I don't notice the logic on this. Why making the buffing classes more sp expensive for no reason? Balance? Evilness? Joymax on crack?

For euro or chinese, buffing is an important part of becoming a better pvp or grinder. Just accept that the higher you lvl, the more sp it will take for any skill, buff or not. Youre nearly lvl 40, and thats natural that it will take more sp. If you dont like it, make a new char or just dont play the game.

As for the mastery lowering and damage drop, I cant comprehend. Good luck tho.

It's not a farming issue. I don't mind the resulting farming that this will lead me to. But you failed to noticed the main questions:

Like... I don't mind farming to be stronger. But farming to keep the same strength? Point?

The only logic i can see behind this is your old protector set had some intl / str components on it. By changing to a new set, you have gotten rid of the intl / str and that has made you do a lower amount of damage. Thats the best explanation i can come up with.

If not that, then maybe it has something to do with how the actual skill functions. I admit i don't know much about the cleric skills so i ain't the best person to ask about it.

Both from NPC (try finding decent equipment on Samarkand on older servers)

I assure you I've been testing a lot, even if I were color-blind I'd be sure that the monsters I'm putting on this matter are Kokorus.

(I never one-hit Peritons yet)

Clerics wasn't meant to kill anything I can tell you that, after 5x you start to see it more.
Retired my cleric/bard in ksro at lv 54 loong before isro got updated.

Meet with a lv80 cleric/bard in job pvp and couldn't even deal with a lv60 warrior.
