Im am making a new char, cuz blade is boring. I am going to do a INT char, which has been pure int to lvl 28 (-1 str). I am trying to decide on going Pure INT s/s or Hybrid int (like 5:1) Spear.
I like s/s for the lightning chain and the KD's....but i overall dont like the stab lag and don't like the low HP.
I like hybrid spear for the high HP and the good combos (like sss + nuke + ghost spear) at high lvl. However, there is only one new status error (dull) and it does not reduce defence.


any suggestions?

STR hybrid spear is the way to go. it's very powerful and never loses in pvp (only if other people have sosun) ... basically if you start a new character .. first 30 lvls full int, then start putting all your stats onto STR .. perfect build. you need good gear though.

uh, no thx on str hybrid......but i feel that the Dmg + HP is better than the defense and status errors of s/s.

So i am probably going to go hybrid spear, probably a final count of 40 extra str, which is appx 5:1 hybrid spear

I plan on Max Light Cold and Heuksal, with Fire sub for immunity. =D

Logic about using the spear? or the whole build in general...

Just choose what you like best, I love SSS and the spear damage so I went spear, with sword you'll get higher defense and slightly lower damage. However with the new Heuskal passive, 4-5 STR and 1200 HP on gear you should have about 10.5-11k HP with 85% mag. balance naked, you do good damage and can take a hit or two.

The hybrid str spear build. The math doesn't seem to work in your favor. It doesn't make use of the spears high mag attack and the crits would be lower than an equivalent glaive. Kind of like making a hybrid int glaive. This is what Barotix is asking you to explain.

Need mana shield for that to work. lol

err no you dont... lol .. If you actually had time, make that build trust me you'll never go back to PURE builds. plus ... Str hybrid > Str glavie .. the math... lol .. You're aiming for a balance of 90% phy and 70% mag .. you use the spear because you give extra mag dmg ...

then why not go glaive? don` t understand why people would use a spear in your case.

str hybrid spear, have not met any high level yet trying that what mastery are you using? and what gear? because if you wear garments like 99% of the str glaive then you lose.

go pure int sword or hybrid spear depends on your mastery planing and your gear.
i recommend going pure int sword since that build can be extremely effective with just 3 mastery instead of 4 (plan for 90 cap).

Last time i'v seen a lvl 58 STR hybrid nuking my lvl 52 friend, he got a crit up his ass and died.
I guess it depends on HOW you build your STR hybrid, but the one i'v seen sucks major balls.

lol dude you dont know what your talking about .. yes, i wear garments, and still rolled pure str glavie. I dont know why so many people are very negative about this build.

Megalomaniac, STR hybrid shouldnt nuke because the nukes would be quite useless, just keep with the spear skills. yes, i basically lucked out on my build.

And, i use the spear because it does more dmg than the glavie. I've tried a +7 glavie and a +7 spear with the same blues and near the same white % and the spear did more damage.

btw, im lvl 80 nearly full farmed and i roll anything (excepting people with sosun) : )
