SilkRoad boasts a considerable amount of botters. In attempts to combat this issue, "Client Altering Preventing Function" and other functions have been added.[4]

This problem had been somewhat alleviated as Joymax has in the past been blocking gold collecting bots in large amounts; 1,500 were blocked during the first exertion,[5] 1,400 in the second,[6] 1,700 in the third,[7] and 4,000 in the fourth [8] Joymax previously released a statement on July 18th claiming actions would be taken against botters and there would be a HUGE ban list, yet nothing was done.. But changes were made to the client and the botters became frightend to return for a bit, seeminly unsettled by the situation. Which in fact has helped considerably with problematic server traffic. There have been no further actions taken against player bots or the masses of gold collecting bots since shortly before the Europe update has been released.

Meanwhile botters are back and all servers are continually overcrowded and lagged out. While Euro-update, Joymax claimed that in the future they will use "immediate botban." This is not the truth. The truth is that no matter which part of the server you navigate to, players will always be outnumbered by bots. Joymax didn´t ban bots since Euro-update.

Spambots advertising gold selling sites are most time so active that it's impossible to communicate with players in cities.

Its nearly impossible to get to level 80 without botting - and: Its nearly impossible to have success in leveling without botting in the region around Hotan. All this leads to the question if Silkroad is a good game for children because they learn to act in an illegal way to solve their problems.

Crashes
Quite occasionally, the game will crash without warning or explanation, possibly endangering the validity of player accounts. The actual cause of the random crashes are due to faulty coding and overlooked bugs in the system which cause memory leaks, errors and stability issues.

I just hit the guild filter option, and i can talk to my guild all day in town. I guess communication in town is possible

and when you want to talk to ppl outside of your guild in town then what. I honestly think that JM gave us the stall network so we wouldn't have to yell WTB WTS WTT in the town chat. That way we'd complain less about the spam bots that have completely taken it over because they aren't in our way as often.
