Everyone knows how irritating it is to get hacked on sro. There are however a few ways to get hacked. The most common is a keylogger as we know. There are other ways, but i'm gonna tell you guys how to keep your account safe if you think your pc has a keylogger.
If your antivirus does not find anything, it does not mean that your pc is not infected with a keylogger. (I hate that).
(Remember this, a hacker can see all the things you do on your keyboard. So id and password, but also what you are typing on xfire, msn and whatever.)
If you really think you have a keylogger do this: Go to silkroadonline.net and change your password USING METHOD 1. (You need your secret answer lol, better change that one 2 if possible)
Ok this is what you can do to prevent you will get hacked.
Method 1.
-Windows has a onscreen keyboard. If you use this you won't need to press any keys on your keyboard, and a hacker cannot see what you are not pressing on your keyboard. (Use it when typing your id and password.) After that you can deactivate it. This is how to activate it:
Mouse actions:
On the Start menu:
* Point to All Programs.
* Point to Accessories.
* Point to Accessibility.
* Select On–Screen Keyboard.
Note: A message box with a link to more information about the On–Screen Keyboard may appear. To close the box, select OK.
Display the Start menu by pressing CTRL+ESC (or the Windows logo key ).
Keyboard Actions:
* Move to All Programs by pressing P.
* If it does not open automatically, press ENTER to open the All Programs menu.
* Move to Accessories by pressing the DOWN ARROW key.
* Press ENTER.
* Select Accessibility by pressing ENTER.
* Move to On–Screen Keyboard by pressing the DOWN ARROW key.
* Press ENTER.
Note: A message box with a link to more information about accessibility utilities may appear. To close the box, press ALT+TAB to select the message box, and then press ENTER. Then, press ALT+TAB to select the document in which you want to begin working.
*I copied this from microsoft homepage cuz im to lazy to type it myself.
Very simple and effective.
Ps. Yes I know that I used some stuff from other ppl, but hey, they aren't here are they?
I never downloaded anything suspicious and never entered on a suspicious site. The most dangerous site regarding Silkroad I ever visited was rev6, which is clean by the way. Almost two years and didn't get hacked one single time.
