It worked for me.

When you try to edit your account info you get this page:
Image

Then you get this email:
Image

Then you enter the code in here:

Then you have to log in again:

And finally you can edit your info:

It's being a bit flaky with sending the emails and serving the pages; I got a lot of 404s.

Yes, looks to be so. The "find ID/password" function also requires you to verify with your email. As far as I can tell, there is no way to change your email though. You can change it on silkroadonline.net, but it doesn't change it for your "master" account, so I would assume it just changes their mailing address for when they send out the occasional update email.

Does the same for me. I can't get it to send the verification emails, but when I check back 30 minutes later I've got a stack of them in my inbox because they take so long to be sent. Then I try to use the code and I get a 404 after the code entry page.

Never mind, it sent a copy of every single verification email to an address I had used earlier with that account. It is true however that you still can't change your password without access to one of those email accounts so I suppose it's still a step up.

You can be hacked but they can't change your password. So you always get your account back..

Not if you at one time used an email with your account that has a crackable password. You always have to be thinking about every possibility.

I filed a bug report about the copies being sent.

Anyway, I guess they are aware of the issues.

Well considering the portal site is on the http://www.joymax.com domain, I'd say it's fine. I'd be suspicious if I saw links pointing to http://www.joymax.com/portal but the actual url was something like http://923423458501/www.joymax.com/portal or something.

Edit: I never realized SRF automatically converted URLs to clickable links. In past posts, I've always manually typed blahblahblah

I admit I was suspicious too.
So I tried logging in with a non excisting account and it said something like wrong info or whatever.

omg i'm soooo happy!!!

I could FINALLY change my password after so many months waiting!

I couldnt get to type the answer right to my secret question, and now Joymax.com would let me do it without answering it!!!

But... This makes me thing hackers can also do it now, i didnt had to do the verification email thing first, i just went into "change password" in "manage account" page and did it!

btw is it me or the email verification thing is down now? When i try to load it, it doesnt show anything in the page.

edit: ok it worked now, got the email right away! woot

If you get keylogger thru something they will get all your email login info
and all the credit info too so this won't save those ppl.

As sro account info can be stolen/hacked email can be done even more easy.

it's the reason ksro got this thru the cell phone network/number/sms :)
