I have never played any other MMO besides this one.

1. Has there been any games that were notorious for botting?
Either the same company that made the game had proven ties to a bot or gold seller.

2. Did absolutely nothing about either goldbots / player bots.

3. Perhaps there was a sight that sold gold without there needing to be bots?

Why would there be?

Joymax are still great comparing to K2....

joymax are useless unless you buy from them.. which means your loosing out

You seem to be asking different things here, but alright.

1. No, most games hire GMs with spines.

2. Yes, for a while MU was bot-infested and they wouldnt do anything about it. Then, they couldn't do anything about it. Now, Idk.

3. You don't need to be a bot to sell gold on sro, all you need is a simple macro program. Afaik no gold selling sites use legit measures, although there are forums where you can go to buy gold from people.

knight online had areas that you could bot without punishment (the xp rates are shit though)

Yeah but this game owns, so it does not need an excuse to why its notorious for botting.

Silkroad Online is an exception.

WoW is very anti bot. Good luck botting 1-70 and keeping your account. Blizzard does ban. They have huge bans. Just 1 ban from Blizzard is bigger than every ban from Joymax ever made X 100.

WoW Has Gold Farmers. Why? Because bots get banned. They have to hire actual humans to farm gold for them.

There is a reason why a 70 WoW Account is valued at 800-2000 USD. And why SRO Full SoSun 80 Account is worth 400 USD. WoW Account is hand grinded and lots of time spent. SRO Account is worthless. Its much cheaper to just Bot and CCF Gold. Takes 2 Months Max

Other Games have simple method. The map has spawns. These spawns are special. If you kill it, your character will be transported to a pit/jail. You cannot ever leave. Your character is stuck forever. Players can differentiate between these mobs and actual XP mobs. The Bots cannot. So far still works. Hasn't failed yet, great anti-bot measure.

If you would like to do your small part, and help us identify botters and keep this game clean and free of cheats and exploitation - please read the below suggestions on how to do so. At the bottom of the post is methods for reporting them.

Penalty for playing AFK


Tips on Identification:

* Bots only use the first attack of a series. For example, when a Segnale uses her whip (no skills) she will down hit, back hit, front hit, spin hit. These are the different movements of her whip. However, the bot will only down hit, down hit, down hit, down hit, doing the first pattern of the series over and over and over.
* Sometimes a skill will be used, but no damage will be dealt because it hasn’t actually gone through enough cool-down time.
* Monsters do not agro or start attacking bots on their own. If someone runs through a large pile of agro mobs and none of them attack, you can bet it’s a bot.
* BOT RUNS THROUGH WALLS when going to the designated training spot or to re-pot. This is one of the biggest indicators. Bots tend to ignore all barriers when it travels to a location, but not when it is actually at the training spot and fighting.
* Botter will get stuck running back and forth (something like you run away, the mob appears, you run back, and it disappears).




"Bug" Reports from Actual Botters:

* "Bot's attacking animation (movement) when viewed by another player, looks very bottish and odd"
* "Skill delay don't work as intended"
* "No Bagi Buff Skills (Defensive, Instict Power, Instict Speed, Freezing Knuckle, Lightning Knuckle)"
* "Segnale buffs are not working (Rising Guard, Magic Shield, etc)"
* "In Parca Temple, your bot runs through the wall to get to the training area on the other side"
* "Ice Bolt and Lightning Bolt skills do not cast for Incar Magician"
* "Bot will only use 1 Skill, if you select a second one, the second skill is not used"
* "When bot runs out of pots, it will not automatically equip it to use."
* "Bot cannot pass through portal from Denebe to Heiharp and just stands in front of portal"
* "In denebe bot run through mountain to go to castor cave"
* "Bot attacks monsters before they appear on screen of other people"
* "Bot can run over mountains in Heiharp"
* "Bot can pick up loots from very far away"
* "Bot doesn't use teleporter to go from town to town. i.e. going from Loa to Denebe"
* "If the bot goes after a monster and an obstacle is in the way, it will get stuck on the obstacle and not move... until someone comes around and kills that monster or it moves far enough away."
* "Certain Skills that do multiple hits are hitting monsters instantly (Curse Field for Segnales) "




How to Report Botters to a VGM :

1. Do not post the report here on the forums. It simply will not get acted on quick enough.
2. Shout on the map, asking for a VGM or GM assistance.
3. PM on IRC
4. Message over MSN
5. PM on Forum




VGMs may also be contacted on IRC for issues of this nature.

You will need to provide the following:

* Character Name
* Character Location
* Screenshots
* Server/Shard

hmmm, they go for a lot more than that. The actual characters can be around 400, the gear and gold will add more on too.

theres a game called With Your Destiny, it comes with a thing called auto hunt were u could set ur character to attack stuff withen the radios, liek a bot.

Rofl you remind me of this one guy named Caras which was an SRF member a few years ago. My god all he spammed was "WoW is great go play it" for a freakin year. Then the mods got pissed and I think he got banz0red

Wtf, none of you heard of iRO/mRO? almost EVERYONE (read: 99%) bots there, and its considered perfectly normal. In fact, players think that you have to be an idiot to not bot, cause getting to lvl 99 takes forever.

i've yet to see why WoW's always brought up..>_> it's all about opinion, saying "wow sucks" without any justification is just pointless to say in the first place. s'like, tell that to the millions of people who spend all day playing it.

and to the above post, i'm sure SRO will be like that pretty soon, theres plenty of people who deny botting/gold buying who do it anyways.

edit: well that's not really true, people like to deny botting, at least in iSRO..mainly because people who don't bot, look at them as some non-humanish figure. >_>
