Don't bother getting the black/lightning hawk.. Worthless..

Just get the blue hawk.

I'm a high lvl str archer, been playing since the game came out so I know good deal about sro ;d

What I have to say is you guys don't even probably have it or ever used it at higher lvls,, its like having 2 wolves, when its around the same lvl. The extra atk rating from a hawk really doesn't do much, it only helps you do the higher dmg your able to do most of the time and its not even that noticeable, the atk hawks adds to it. Not to mention you basically get one built into your weapon with alchemy. I guess its mostly just user preference.

Just to add. Its like the different shield tech series. Practically, the outcome is about the same. The only advantage of going lightning hawk over blue hawk, is the potential of dealing a higher max damage output (over time).

Remember that lightning hawk gives you extra damage over time, while blue hawk increases your potential of dealing max damage. In most pvp situations, you wont be able to deal max damage all the time, so blue hawk has its uses, especially when fighting an opponent with a high parry ratio. Dealing consistent minimal damage when using lightning hawk, against dealing consistently higher damage when using blue hawk, balances the situation out.

For PvE it's probably lightning hawk, since if you have atk rating on your weapon it's much better to have 500-1k more dmg every 5 sec since the mobs don't have really high perry ratios. In PvP, it would depend on the situation. VS euros the lightning hawk is probably better, as they can't take the extra dmg, so it's like having your own special p.atk dot, but I wouldn't use it on Warriors or maybe even rogues.

It really depends how much damage your lightning hawk does, because if your opponent has high perry ratio, doing max dmg with your own attack might result in higher dps than dealing small amount of dmg every 5 sec. Especially when you want your crit to be as high as possible, so attack rating is of a bigger use since you will do more dmg on the crits.

for str i suppose u wanna hit the high end of ur numbers in crits so maybe blue hawk, but if u use ur wolf in jobbing den u cud use lightning hawk as every second you will be doing about 1 - 1.5k dmg from both pets. Cud slow there potting down a little.

Bow attacks have a huge difference between min attack and max attacks. Also in stats both attack and reinforce.
But since you already got passive and blue on bow. The xtra 30 attack rating at 80 wont matter that much.

I myself am using attack hawk (lvl 12 maxed atm). Cause it attacks not bad. I get like 3 dots sometimes (burn, wolf and hawk ). And i can hit my max dmg with the black hawk.

So blue hawk: Higher hits. E.g 5k alot
But black hawk i can hit 5k too so its 5k+0.5k= 5.5k Or i get a bad hit = 4.5k+ 0.5k= still 5k dmg.

But in pvp its not always wise to use attack hawk for example against ppl in armor. So guess i need to get both hawks anyways.
Against ppl in garments attack hawk ftw

Also got wings with 5% more, which counts on passive and attack rating from explosion arrows.

depends on your gear. if you have good att rating already with the blue added too I would go for the light bird.. I've played with the blue bird and it didn't make a significant difference, while i've seen the light bird add a couple hundred damage to each hit

honestly i find that lightning hawk is better nowadays.WHY ? because blue hawk adds ur attack ratting but i think when fightning giant, the hawk hit the giant before i shot a anti devil arrow,when i shoot strong bow, it hits again and then when i shoot devil arrow(while charging)(holding devil arrow strings) it hits again and when the devil arrow is fired it hits again. which means 4 times. and its true 30 attack ratting wont do anything.but useful when fightning bladers since their block ratio is godly high.(most likely sos shield)

so lightning is really better.im not sure when it hits player but if im not wrong its around 100 or 200 to normal npc equipments ???when fightning someone who does not has shield,get lightning. when fightning someone whom has shield get blue.

true . and if u r a pure strength sometimes u need few more hits to kill the monster(most likely need if u got +3 bow) with this skill i dun have to waste 1 more arrow.
