 Post subject: Good customer service = Bad?

I hear people say and agree that Jagex (company which created and runs the game RuneScape) has great customer support. For the 6 years that I used to play that game I would have agreed with you. But what happens when a company with good customer service and tight security goes too far?

http://www.runescape.com - The updates for December 10th have basically ruined the game. Read in depth if youd like but, in a nutshell, they decided to deal with real world trading (ie. gold buying, goldbots, etc) by restricting players' trading capabilities. Now items are worthless, merchants are jobless, and the economy is plummeting. Players cannot trade to their mules or even loan a poor friend of theirs a nice item. Instead, they must provide items and/or gold that is with a 3,000gold range of the items being received. For example, you must trade an item worth at least 1,000gold for an item worth 4,000gold (prices based on NPC prices I believe).

How does this relate to Silkroad? Everyone complains about poor customer support, bots, goldsellers, etc. Yes, they are a problem and need to be dealt with. Yes they are ruining the game. But heres my question for discussion to you, the community... At what lengths are you willing to go to completely get rid of these pests? What would you sacrifice for no server traffic and an empty grinding spot?

Customer service is critical... but too much can be just as bad as the problems we have now.

So players who got millions now would be rich their whole life....

Damn, i won't play RS anymore....
Tho the game will focus again on making money on a ''hard'''way (and maybe better)
People with high smithing level will be able to get rich with it, the higher your experience the higher your profit :D

Knew they were implementing this for awhile, why i know a few moderators who quit. One said they were running it in the ground now i see why...saw this yesterday btw, was a bit odd. Like the new dieing method though

Joymax? What customer service??? :roll:

I mean seriously, go on the sro site or the joymax site, and if you can show me a real "support" or "customer service" setion, I'll give you a bagillion in gold. it doesn't exist. There is no real, effective way to communicate with anyone at joymax...and there is no evidence that if someone did, anything would be done. I'm not whining so much as I'm just pointing it out. The thing I hate the most is the spamming by gold bots and their companies in towns. It's SOOOO annoying. I can deal with KSing bots, no big problem for me....but seriously...trying to have a conversation in town is annoying, and youre forced to go into specific chat functions :banghead:
