Dear SRF,
How are you all? Well I hope. Give my regards to the family, and give your sister aspecial wink from me. But time is short, so I shall get straight to the point.
Running a little short on ideas for a new story. I plan to write one for you all within the next day or 2, but since something happened I didnt win round 1 of cin's competition and i felt the 1 vote loss was bleh, grats to tor tho, I appear to be suffering from a lack of imagination. Granted, I've written out several chapters following the chapter 1 i wrote, but I aint postin that till cin's comp is over, so as not to ruin his awesome comp idea.
So, ladies, gentlemen and SRF users, i need a little creative prodding. Throw me some ideas, or basic concepts, or anything really, that i can take and go away and do my thing with. Currently I got a "school playground" idea mulling around my brain (ty to Aby) but its not got much to it yet.
Any and all idea or concept is most welcome, and if i do one based on yours, ill promise to do it justice, and most of all, give you a mention in the story (like i did with smurf in a story a while ago )
Awaiting your help
Writersblocktrice
ps.
not too sure why i made it look like a letter, so dont ask me why, coz you ought to know by now im a little random.

...who doesn't like cookies. I second this great idea.
PS: In my defense, the last time I checked the votes were 10:8, and you got both your own vote and my vote.

write a backstory about the GMs like when they were little kids in grade school or something, they already like to give themselves those ridiculous nicknames, it could be kinda cute though, like the little rascals or something except they're all korean.

Dude if you got a story start brain storming, talk to freinds, and outline what you want to happen and then start writing, I posted a while back a half of intro to a story i'm writing called Brethren of the Blade, i know i said i was going to keep posting daily, but i decided i needed to brain storm some and get a concrete story line down first do some research of the era, and you know what I got a damn good story brewing talking to all my freinds they like what i say of it and some sample writings. Once i'll get whole chapters i'll post them.
My point is don't let some competition stop you from writing the story you want, I badly mutilated mine to fit the format of the contest and it wasn't bad it wasn't great, it just lack any zeal to it.
But it helps to talk to people.
If you really feal like doing a sro based story then go ahead, but I decided a sro based story is just a bad idea, if you got freinds that read alot its good to talk thru with them what they would think about doing it such a way, infact i even got takled into moving the time period of my story, to allow for more oppurtunities.
If you want an idea, do something cool chinese, but do some basic research of the era, you can go as fantasy as you like, but it makes it a much more entertaining story if you keep the reader immersed in a either good fictional world, or a half way close to right portrait of a past or present world.
But then again it depends on how serous you want to be with it.
Who cares if the story is cliche, it could be part of what makes it good. For charectors use people you know as a basis for them, it will help you have a more believible person with real manorisms.
If you're story is crazy the world can be what ever, if it a serous tone the world should reflect that as well (doesn't mean you can't have humor though).
You have an obvious interest in writing, why not make a serious full size story. If you want to do a sro based game it would make it more entertaining to more fantasy based people at least to refrain from referencing the game directly or game slang like "noob, dc, wtf, ext", But the intro to one of the stories in the 1st week of the competiion i think it was Nightblooms, showed how it could be writing good and entertaining (though it was ruined when the girl shouted nooob, because it basicly broke the 4th wall as its called") I'm not sure if that was nightblooms i think it was, where they had the knight in heavy armor come in and kneel down, then it shifted to in town. I don't remember who wrote that one but if you remember the one i'm talking about you'll get what i'm saying.
If you need topics, as i said before the chinese set, can even throw in the powers but becarefull not to directly refer to the game with it, it could be very interesting if done right. Go with the cliche of a princes or some hot girl was captured have to go save her, travel with her then take her back, (sorry was thinking of House of Flying Daggers, but if you've seen it you could go with something cool like that with a few people with super human powers due to meditation and training (would be insane if too many people could))
