If you downloaded the update and are now trying to install and it keeps telling you that it is an update that must be installed AFTER the dec. 18 server inspections (like it did to me when I go home from work yesterday,) change the name of the file, but do not touch the.exe. Just remove 1 or 2 letters from the file name. After that, if it says that it’s a damaged client, close and reopen the installer rapidly untill its begins to install. AFTER THAT, if the start button doesn’t appear, and it doesn’t begin to self update. Leave the installer open, and go to the silk road website. If you cannot view the website, refresh untill you can. Then close and open the client. The announccements SHOULD appear bfore the start button does. If the start button is STILL lagging behind click on the announcements. This should cause the start button to show. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS WEIRD, but this is the EXACT experience I had. I refused to re-download the client so just for kicks I renamed it, for some reason that jumpstarted the process and get the ball rolling.

(results may vary, testamonials are specific results of an individual, and yours may not be the same.)
